1 ULB Não sou livre? Não sou um apóstolo? Eu não vi a Jesus nosso Senhor? Vós não sois meu trabalho no Senhor? BSB BSB: Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you yourselves not my workmanship in the Lord?
2 ULB Se não sou um apóstolo para outros, ao menos o sou para vós, porque sois a prova do meu apostolado no Senhor. BSB BSB: Even if I am not an apostle to others, surely I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
3 ULB Esta é a minha defesa para aqueles que me examinam. BSB BSB: This is my defense to those who scrutinize me:
4 ULB Não temos nós o direito de comer e beber? BSB BSB: Have we no right to food and to drink?
6 ULB Ou é apenas Barnabé e eu que devemos trabalhar? BSB BSB: Or are Barnabas and I the only apostles who must work for a living?
7 ULB Quem serve como um soldado às suas próprias custas? Quem planta uma vinha e não come de seus frutos? Ou quem cuida de um rebanho e não bebe de seu leite? BSB BSB: Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not drink of its milk?
8 ULB Digo isto baseado em autoridade humana? Não diz isso também a Lei? BSB BSB: Do I say this from a human perspective? Doesn’t the Law say the same thing?

12 ULB Se outros exercem esse direito por meio de vós, não teríamos nós ainda mais? Não obstante, nós não reivindicamos esse direito, mas suportamos tudo ao invés de sermos um obstáculo para o Evangelho de Cristo. BSB BSB: If others have this right to your support, shouldn’t we have it all the more? But we did not exercise this right. Instead, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.
13 ULB Vós não sabeis que aqueles que servem no templo, recebem sua comida do templo? E aqueles que servem no altar repartem o que é oferecido no altar? BSB BSB: Do you not know that those who work in the temple eat of its food, and those who serve at the altar partake of its offerings?
14 ULB Do mesmo modo, o Senhor ordenou àqueles que proclamam o Evangelho que vivam do Evangelho. BSB BSB: In the same way, the Lord has prescribed that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
15 ULB Mas eu não reivindiquei nenhum desses direitos. E não escrevo isso para que algo seja feito por mim. Eu preferiria morrer a que alguém me retirasse esse orgulho. BSB BSB: But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this to suggest that something be done for me. Indeed, I would rather die than let anyone nullify my boast.
16 ULB Pois, se eu prego o Evangelho, não tenho razão para vanglória, porque tenho obrigação de fazer isso. E ai de mim se não pregar o Evangelho! BSB BSB: Yet when I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because I am obligated to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
17 ULB Porque, se de boa vontade eu faço isso, tenho uma recompensa; mas se não de boa vontade, ainda tenho uma responsabilidade que me foi confiada. BSB BSB: If my preaching is voluntary, I have a reward. But if it is not voluntary, I am still entrusted with a responsibility.
18 ULB Qual então é a minha recompensa? Que quando eu pregue, eu possa oferecer o Evangelho sem custo, e então não faço uso de meu direito no Evangelho. BSB BSB: What then is my reward? That in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not use up my rights in preaching it.
19 ULB Porque mesmo eu sendo livre de tudo, tornei-me um servo de todos, a fim de que eu pudesse ganhar mais pessoas. BSB BSB: Though I am free of obligation to anyone, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
20 ULB Para os judeus, eu me tornei como um judeu, a fim de ganhar judeus. Àqueles sujeitos à Lei, me tornei como alguém sujeito à lei, a fim de ganhá-los pela Lei. Eu fiz isso, embora eu mesmo não estivesse sujeito à Lei (Algumas versões mais antigas não trazem essa passagem) . BSB BSB: To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), to win those under the law.
21 ULB Para os que estão sem lei, me tornei como sem lei, embora não estivesse sem a Lei de Deus, e sim sob a Lei de Cristo. Eu fiz isto para ganhar aqueles sem lei. BSB BSB: To those without the law I became like one without the law (though I am not outside the law of God but am under the law of Christ), to win those without the law.
22 ULB Para os fracos eu me tornei fraco, com o propósito de ganhar os fracos. Eu me tornei todas as coisas para todas as pessoas, para que possa, por todos os meios, salvar alguns. BSB BSB: To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.
23 ULB E eu faço todas as coisas por causa do Evangelho, de modo a participar das suas bênçãos. BSB BSB: I do all this for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.
24 ULB Não sabeis que em uma corrida todos correm a corrida, mas apenas um recebe o prêmio? Então, correi para ganhar o prêmio. BSB BSB: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize.
25 ULB Um atleta exercita autocontrole em todo seu treinamento. Eles fazem isso para receber uma coroa que é perecível, mas nós corremos para que possamos receber uma coroa imperecível. BSB BSB: Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable.
26 ULB Portanto, não corro sem propósito, nem luto golpeando o ar; BSB BSB: Therefore I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight like I am beating the air.
