1 ULB O menino Samuel servia a Yahweh sob supervisão de Eli. A mensagem de Yahweh era rara naqueles dias; não havia visão profética frequentemente. BSB BSB: And the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. Now in those days the word of the LORD was rare, and visions were scarce.

6 ULB Yahweh chamou novamente: "Samuel". De novo Samuel levantou e foi até Eli e disse: "Aqui estou, pois me chamaste". Eli respondeu: "Não te chamei, meu filho; deita novamente". BSB BSB: Once again the LORD called, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” “My son, I did not call,” Eli replied. “Go back and lie down.”
7 ULB Samuel ainda não tinha tido nenhuma experiência com Yahweh, nem nenhuma mensagem de Yahweh havia sido revelada a ele. BSB BSB: Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, because the word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.
8 ULB Yahweh chamou novamente Samuel pela terceira vez. De novo Samuel levantou e foi até Eli e disse: "Aqui estou, pois me chamaste". Então Eli percebeu que Yahweh havia chamado o menino. BSB BSB: Once again, for the third time, the LORD called to Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” Then Eli realized that it was the LORD who was calling the boy.
9 ULB Então Eli disse a Samuel: "Vai e deita novamente; se Ele te chamar de novo, deves dizer: 'Fala, Yahweh, pois o teu servo está ouvindo'". Então Samuel voltou e deitou em sua cama mais uma vez. BSB BSB: “Go and lie down,” he said to Samuel, “and if He calls you, say, ‘Speak, LORD, for Your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 ULB Yahweh veio e permaneceu; Ele o chamou como nas outras vezes: "Samuel, Samuel". Então Samuel disse: "Fala, pois o teu servo está ouvindo". BSB BSB: Then the LORD came and stood there, calling as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.”
11 ULB Yahweh disse a Samuel: "Veja, vou fazer algo em Israel que tinirá nos ouvidos de todos que ouvirem a respeito. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Samuel, “I am about to do something in Israel at which the ears of all who hear it will tingle.
12 ULB Naquele dia cumprirei contra Eli tudo que havia dito a ele sobre sua casa, do começo ao fim. BSB BSB: On that day I will carry out against Eli everything I have spoken about his house, from beginning to end.
13 ULB Eu disse a ele que estava prestes a julgar sua casa, de uma vez por todas, pelos crimes que ele conhecia, porque seus filhos trouxeram uma maldição sobre eles mesmos e Eli não os impediu. BSB BSB: I told him that I would judge his house forever for the iniquity of which he knows, because his sons blasphemed God and he did not restrain them.
14 ULB Por causa disso, Eu jurei à casa de Eli que os pecados de sua casa jamais serão perdoados, nem por sacrifício nem por oferta." BSB BSB: Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli, ‘The iniquity of Eli’s house shall never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.’”
15 ULB Samuel deitou até a manhã; depois abriu as portas da casa de Yahweh. Mas Samuel estava com medo de contar a Eli sobre a visão. BSB BSB: Samuel lay down until the morning; then he opened the doors of the house of the LORD. He was afraid to tell Eli the vision,
16 ULB Então Eli chamou Samuel e disse: "Samuel, meu filho". Samuel disse: "Aqui estou". BSB BSB: but Eli called to him and said, “Samuel, my son.” “Here I am,” answered Samuel.
17 ULB Ele disse: "Qual foi a palavra que Ele falou contigo? Por favor, não me escondas. Que Deus te castigue ainda mais, se tu esconderes alguma coisa de mim das palavras que Ele falou a ti". BSB BSB: “What was the message He gave you?” Eli asked. “Do not hide it from me. May God punish you, and ever so severely, if you hide from me anything He said to you.”
18 ULB Samuel contou-lhe tudo; e não escondeu nada dele. Eli disse: "Ele é Yahweh. Que Ele faça o que parecer bom a Ele." BSB BSB: So Samuel told him everything and did not hide a thing from him. “He is the LORD,” replied Eli. “Let Him do what is good in His eyes.”
19 ULB Samuel cresceu e Yahweh estava com ele e não permitiu que nenhuma de Suas palavras proféticas deixassem de acontecer. BSB BSB: And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and He let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.
20 ULB Todo Israel, desde Dan até Berseba, soube que Samuel foi escolhido para ser um profeta de Yahweh. BSB BSB: So all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the LORD.
21 ULB Yahweh apareceu novamente em Siló, pois ele Se revelou a Samuel em Siló pela Sua palavra. BSB BSB: And the LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, because there He revealed Himself to Samuel by His word.
