1 ULB Queremos que saibais, irmãos, sobre a graça de Deus dada às igrejas da Macedônia. BSB BSB: Now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the churches of Macedonia.
2 ULB Durante muitas aflições, a abundância da alegria e a profunda pobreza deles produziram neles grande riqueza de generosidade. BSB BSB: In the terrible ordeal they suffered, their abundant joy and deep poverty overflowed into rich generosity.
3 ULB Porque dou testemunho de que deram muito mais do que podiam, e até além de suas posses. E, de livre vontade, BSB BSB: For I testify that they gave according to their ability and even beyond it. Of their own accord,
4 ULB pediram-nos com muita insistência o privilégio de participar desse serviço aos santos. BSB BSB: they earnestly pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints.
5 ULB Isto não aconteceu como esperávamos; em vez disso, primeiramente eles se entregaram ao Senhor, e depois a nós, pela vontade de Deus. BSB BSB: And not only did they do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us, through the will of God.
6 ULB Então, rogamos a Tito, que já havia começado essa tarefa, que completasse esse ato de generosidade entre vós. BSB BSB: So we urged Titus to help complete your act of grace, just as he had started it.
7 ULB Ora, vós sois abundantes em tudo: na fé, na palavra, no conhecimento, em todo o zelo e no vosso amor por nós. Assim, certificai-vos de que também sejais abundantes nesse trabalho generoso. BSB BSB: But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in the love we inspired in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
8 ULB Digo isso não como uma ordem, mas para provar a sinceridade do vosso amor, ao compará-lo com o zelo de outras pessoas. BSB BSB: I am not giving a command, but I am testing the sincerity of your love through the earnestness of others.
9 ULB Pois vós conheceis a graça do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, embora fosse rico, para o vosso bem Ele Se tornou pobre, para que, por meio de Sua pobreza vós vos tornásseis ricos. BSB BSB: For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
10 ULB Quanto a isso, darei um conselho que vos ajudará. Um ano atrás, vós não somente começastes a fazer algo, mas desejastes fazê-lo. BSB BSB: And this is my opinion about what is helpful for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give, but even to have such a desire.
11 ULB Agora, completai-o. Assim como havia empenho e desejo de fazê-lo antes, que vós também completeis, tanto quanto possais. BSB BSB: Now finish the work, so that you may complete it with the same eager desire, according to your means.
12 ULB Porque estais empenhados em fazer essa obra, isso é bom e aceitável. Mas deve ser baseada no que cada pessoa tem, não no que ele não tem. BSB BSB: For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.
13 ULB Porque essa tarefa não é para que outros sejam aliviados e vós sobrecarregados; mas deve haver igualdade. BSB BSB: It is not our intention that others may be relieved while you are burdened, but that there may be equality.
14 ULB A vossa abundância no tempo presente suprirá o que eles precisam. Para que a abundância deles também possa suprir a vossa necessidade, de forma que haja igualdade. BSB BSB: At the present time, your surplus will meet their need, so that in turn their surplus will meet your need. This way there will be equality.
15 ULB Como está escrito: "Aquele que tinha muito não teve nada sobrando; e, aquele que tinha pouco, nada faltando". BSB BSB: As it is written: “He who gathered much had no excess, and he who gathered little had no shortfall.”
16 ULB Mas graças a Deus, que colocou no coração de Tito o mesmo sincero cuidado e zelo que tenho por vós. BSB BSB: But thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same devotion I have for you.
17 ULB Pois ele não apenas aceitou nosso apelo, mas, sendo muito zeloso sobre isso, foi até vós de espontânea vontade. BSB BSB: For not only did he welcome our appeal, but he is eagerly coming to you of his own volition.
18 ULB Com ele, enviamos o irmão que é elogiado entre todas as igrejas por seu trabalho na proclamação do Evangelho. BSB BSB: Along with Titus we are sending the brother who is praised by all the churches for his work in the gospel.
19 ULB Não somente isso, mas ele também foi indicado pelas igrejas para viajar conosco e cumprir esse nosso ato de generosidade, para honrar ao Senhor e demonstrar nosso empenho em ajudar. BSB BSB: More than that, this brother was chosen by the churches to accompany us with the gracious offering we administer to honor the Lord Himself and to show our eagerness to help.
20 ULB Queremos evitar a possibilidade de alguém reclamar acerca da nossa generosidade, a qual estamos ministrando. BSB BSB: We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this generous gift.
21 ULB Nós tomamos o cuidado de fazer o que é honroso, não apenas diante do Senhor, mas também diante das pessoas. BSB BSB: For we are taking great care to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord, but also in the eyes of men.
22 ULB E com eles também enviamos outro irmão. Nós o temos testado frequentemente, e encontramos nele entusiasmo para muitas tarefas. Agora, ele é ainda mais cuidadoso e zeloso por causa da grande confiança que tem em vós. BSB BSB: And we are sending along with them our brother who has proven his earnestness to us many times and in many ways, and now even more so by his great confidence in you.
23 ULB Quanto a Tito, ele é meu parceiro e companheiro de trabalho em vosso benefício. A respeito de nossos irmãos, eles são enviados pelas igrejas, e são uma honra para Cristo. BSB BSB: As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker among you. As for our brothers, they are messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.
24 ULB Então, mostrai-lhes o vosso amor, e mostrai às igrejas a razão pela qual nos orgulhamos de vós. BSB BSB: In full view of the churches, then, show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our boasting about you.
