1 ULB Se alguém é encontrado morto na terra em que Yahweh, vosso Deus, está vos dando para possuir, deitado no campo, e seu agressor for desconhecido, BSB BSB: If one is found slain, lying in a field in the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who killed him,
2 ULB então, vossos anciãos e vossos juízes deverão sair e medir as distâncias do corpo até as cidades ao redor do corpo que foi morto. BSB BSB: your elders and judges must come out and measure the distance from the victim to the neighboring cities.

BSB BSB: bring the heifer to a valley with running water that has not been plowed or sown, and break its neck there by the stream.
5 ULB Os sacerdotes, descendentes de Levi, deverão se aproximar, pois deles Yahweh, vosso Deus, os tem escolhido para servi-Lo e para abençoarem o povo em nome de Yahweh; ouvi seus conselhos, pois sua palavra será o veredito em toda disputa e caso de violência. BSB BSB: And the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come forward, for the LORD your God has chosen them to serve Him and pronounce blessings in His name and to give a ruling in every dispute and case of assault.
6 ULB Todos os anciãos daquela cidade que está mais próxima ao homem morto deverão lavar suas mãos sobre a novilha que teve seu pescoço quebrado no vale; BSB BSB: Then all the elders of the city nearest the victim shall wash their hands by the stream over the heifer whose neck has been broken,
7 ULB e deverão responder ao caso e dizer: 'Nossas mãos não derramaram este sangue, e nossos olhos não o viram. BSB BSB: and they shall declare, “Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it.
8 ULB Perdoa, Yahweh, Teu povo Israel, a quem Tu tens redimido, e não coloques culpa no sangue inocente no meio de Seu povo Israel'. Então, o sangue derramado será perdoado. BSB BSB: Accept this atonement, O LORD, for Your people Israel whom You have redeemed, and do not hold the shedding of innocent blood against them.” And the bloodshed will be atoned for.
9 ULB Dessa forma, vós tirareis o sangue inocente de vosso meio, quando fizerdes o que é certo aos olhos de Yahweh. BSB BSB: So you shall purge from among you the guilt of shedding innocent blood, since you have done what is right in the eyes of the LORD.
10 ULB Quando fordes à batalha contra vossos inimigos e Yahweh, vosso Deus, der-lhes a vitória e os colocardes debaixo de vosso controle, então, devereis levá-los cativos. BSB BSB: When you go to war against your enemies and the LORD your God delivers them into your hand and you take them captive,
11 ULB Se virdes entre os cativos uma mulher bonita e tiverdes desejo por ela e quiserdes levá-la como esposa, BSB BSB: if you see a beautiful woman among them, and you desire her and want to take her as your wife,
12 ULB então, a levareis para vossa casa, depois, ela raspará sua cabeça e cortará suas unhas. BSB BSB: then you shall bring her into your house. She must shave her head, trim her nails,
13 ULB Ela tirará as roupas que vestia quando foi levada cativa, e ela permanecerá na tua casa e lamentará por seu pai e sua mãe durante um mês. Depois disso, poderás dormir com ela tornando-te seu marido e ela será tua esposa. BSB BSB: and put aside the clothing of her captivity. After she has lived in your house a full month and mourned her father and mother, you may have relations with her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.

BSB BSB: And if you are not pleased with her, you are to let her go wherever she wishes. But you must not sell her for money or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her.
16 ULB então, no dia em que o homem fizer seus filhos herdarem o que possui, ele não poderá fazer o filho da amada o primogênito antes do filho da odiada que é realmente é o primogênito. BSB BSB: when that man assigns his inheritance to his sons he must not appoint the son of the beloved wife as the firstborn over the son of the unloved wife.
17 ULB Ao invés disso, ele deverá reconhecer o primogênito, o filho da esposa odiada, dando-lhe uma porção dobrada de tudo que ele possui; pois aquele filho é o começo de sua força; o direito da primogênitude pertence a ele. BSB BSB: Instead, he must acknowledge the firstborn, the son of his unloved wife, by giving him a double portion of all that he has. For that son is the firstfruits of his father’s strength; the right of the firstborn belongs to him.
18 ULB Se um homem tem um filho teimoso e rebelde que não obedece a voz de teu pai ou a voz de tua mãe, e que, ainda que seja corrigido, não ouvir; BSB BSB: If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and does not listen to them when disciplined,
19 ULB então, seu pai e sua mãe deverão pegá-lo e levá-lo para os anciãos de sua cidade e para o portão de sua cidade. BSB BSB: his father and mother are to lay hold of him and bring him to the elders of his city, to the gate of his hometown,
20 ULB Eles deverão dizer para os anciãos de sua cidade: "Este filho nosso é teimoso e rebelde; ele não obedece nossa voz; ele é um glutão e bêbado". BSB BSB: and say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he does not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”
21 ULB Então, com pedras, todos os homens de sua cidade deverão apedrejá-lo até a morte; e tu removerás o mal de vosso meio. O povo de Israel ouvirá sobre isso e se amedrontará. BSB BSB: Then all the men of his city will stone him to death. So you must purge the evil from among you, and all Israel will hear and be afraid.
