1 ULB Estas são as palavras que Yahweh ordenou a Moisés que dissesse ao povo de Israel na terra de Moabe. Palavras que foram adicionadas à aliança que Ele havia feito com os israelitas em Horebe. BSB BSB: These are the words of the covenant that the LORD commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant He had made with them at Horeb.
2 ULB Moisés chamou todo Israel e disse-lhes: "Vós vistes tudo que Yahweh fez a Faraó diante de vossos olhos na terra do Egito, com todos os seus servos, e com toda a sua terra— BSB BSB: Moses summoned all Israel and proclaimed to them, “You have seen with your own eyes everything the LORD did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to all his land.
3 ULB o grande sofrimento que vossos olhos viram, os sinais, e aquelas grandes maravilhas. BSB BSB: You saw with your own eyes the great trials, and those miraculous signs and wonders.
4 ULB Mas, até hoje, Yahweh não vos deu um coração para entender, olhos para ver e ouvidos para ouvir. BSB BSB: Yet to this day the LORD has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.
5 ULB Eu vos conduzi por quarenta anos no deserto; vossas roupas não se desgastaram sobre vós, nem as sandálias em vossos pés. BSB BSB: For forty years I led you in the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out.
6 ULB Vós não comestes pão, nem bebestes vinho ou bebidas alcoólicas, para que soubésseis que Eu sou Yahweh, vosso Deus. BSB BSB: You ate no bread and drank no wine or strong drink, so that you might know that I am the LORD your God.
7 ULB Quando viestes a este lugar, Siom, o rei de Hesbom, e Ogue, o rei de Basã, saíram contra nós para lutar, e nós os derrotamos. BSB BSB: When you reached this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out against us in battle, but we defeated them.
8 ULB Nós tomamos as suas terras, e as demos como herança aos rubenitas, aos gaditas, e à meia tribo de Manassés. BSB BSB: We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
9 ULB Assim, guardai as palavras desta aliança e as cumpri, para que prospereis em tudo que fizerdes. BSB BSB: So keep and follow the words of this covenant, that you may prosper in all you do.
10 ULB Vós estais hoje, todos vós, diante de Yahweh, vosso Deus; vossos chefes, vossas tribos, vossos anciãos, e vossos oficiais —todos os homens de Israel, BSB BSB: All of you are standing today before the LORD your God—you leaders of tribes, elders, officials, and all the men of Israel,
11 ULB vossos pequeninos, vossas esposas, e o estrangeiro que está entre vós em vosso acampamento, desde aqueles que cortam vossa madeira até os que tiram vossas águas. BSB BSB: your children and wives, and the foreigners in your camps who cut your wood and draw your water—
12 ULB Vós estais aqui para entrardes na aliança de Yahweh, vosso Deus, e no juramento que Ele hoje faz convosco, BSB BSB: so that you may enter into the covenant of the LORD your God, which He is making with you today, and into His oath,
13 ULB para hoje fazer de vós um povo Dele, e que Ele possa ser Deus para vós, como vos disse e jurou para vossos antepassados, Abraão, Isaque e Jacó. BSB BSB: and so that He may establish you today as His people, and He may be your God as He promised you and as He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
14 ULB Pois não é somente convosco que faço esta aliança e este juramento— BSB BSB: I am making this covenant and this oath not only with you,
15 ULB com todos que estão conosco hoje diante de Yahweh, nosso Deus— mas também com aqueles que não estão aqui conosco hoje. BSB BSB: but also with those who are standing here with us today in the presence of the LORD our God, as well as with those who are not here today.
16 ULB Vós sabeis como vivemos na terra do Egito, e como passamos pelo meio das nações pelas quais passastes. BSB BSB: For you yourselves know how we lived in the land of Egypt and how we passed through the nations on the way here.
17 ULB Vistes as suas abominações: seus ídolos de madeira e de pedra, de prata e de ouro, que estavam entre elas. BSB BSB: You saw the abominations and idols among them made of wood and stone, of silver and gold.
18 ULB Que não haja entre vós nenhum homem, nenhuma mulher, família, ou tribo cujo coração se desvie hoje de Yahweh, nosso Deus, para adorar os deuses dessas nações, para que não haja entre vós nenhuma raiz que produza veneno ou fel, BSB BSB: Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Make sure there is no root among you that bears such poisonous and bitter fruit,
19 ULB para que, quando alguém ouvir as palavras deste juramento, ela não abençoe a si mesma em seu coração, dizendo: 'eu terei paz, mesmo que eu ande na teimosia de meu coração'. Isso destruirá a terra molhada, bem como a seca. BSB BSB: because when such a person hears the words of this oath, he invokes a blessing on himself, saying, ‘I will have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my own heart.’ This will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry.

BSB BSB: The LORD will never be willing to forgive him. Instead, His anger and jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse written in this book will fall upon him. The LORD will blot out his name from under heaven
21 ULB Yahweh o separará para a calamidade dentre todas as tribos de Israel, de acordo com todas as maldições da aliança que estão escritas neste livro da lei. BSB BSB: and single him out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.
22 ULB A geração vindoura, vossos filhos, que virão depois de vós, e o estrangeiro que vem de uma terra distante, falarão, quando virem as pragas nesta terra e as doenças com as quais Yahweh a afligirá— BSB BSB: Then the generation to come—your sons who follow you and the foreigner who comes from a distant land—will see the plagues of the land and the sicknesses the LORD has inflicted on it.
23 ULB e, quando eles virem que toda a terra se abrasou em enxofre e sal, onde nada é semeado nem dá frutos, onde nenhuma vegetação cresce, como na destruição de Sodoma e Gomorra, Admá e Zeboim, que Yahweh destruiu na Sua ira e no Seu furor— BSB BSB: All its soil will be a burning waste of sulfur and salt, unsown and unproductive, with no plant growing on it, just like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in His fierce anger.
24 ULB eles dirão, juntamente com todas as outras nações: 'Por que Yahweh fez isso com esta terra? O que significa o furor de tamanha ira?'. BSB BSB: So all the nations will ask, ‘Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land? Why this great outburst of anger?’
25 ULB Então, as pessoas dirão: 'Isto é porque eles abandonaram a aliança que Yahweh, o Deus de seus antepassados, fez com eles quando os tirou da terra do Egito, BSB BSB: And the people will answer, ‘It is because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.
26 ULB e porque eles foram e adoraram outros deuses, prostrando-se diante deles, deuses que eles não conheceram e que Ele não lhes havia dado. BSB BSB: They went and served other gods, and they worshiped gods they had not known—gods that the LORD had not given to them.
27 ULB Por isso, a ira de Yahweh se acendeu contra esta terra, para trazer sobre ela todas as maldições escritas neste livro. BSB BSB: Therefore the anger of the LORD burned against this land, and He brought upon it every curse written in this book.
28 ULB Yahweh os arrancou de sua terra em ira, indignação e grande fúria, e os lançou em outra terra, como hoje se vê'. BSB BSB: The LORD uprooted them from their land in His anger, rage, and great wrath, and He cast them into another land, where they are today.’
