1 ULB Sucedeu acerca disto que, no décimo primeiro ano, no terceiro mês, no primeiro dia do mês, veio a mim a palavra de Yahweh, dizendo: BSB BSB: In the eleventh year, on the first day of the third month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 ULB "Filho do homem, dize ao Faraó, o rei do Egito, e à multidão em sua volta: 'Quem é semelhante a ti em sua grandeza? BSB BSB: “Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: ‘Who can be compared to your greatness?
3 ULB Eis que a Assíria era um cedro no Líbano, com ramos formosos, de sombrosa folhagem, de alta estatura, com seus ramos expessos. BSB BSB: Look at Assyria, a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches that shaded the forest. It towered on high; its top was among the clouds.
4 ULB Muitas águas o fizeram crescer; as profundezas das águas o fez crescer; rios corriam nesta área e os seus canais eram estendidos para todas árvores do campo. BSB BSB: The waters made it grow; the deep springs made it tall, directing their streams all around its base and sending their channels to all the trees of the field.
5 ULB Era mais alta que qualquer outra árvores do campo e se multiplicaram os seus ramos e as suas varas se alongaram por causa das muitas águas em suas raízes. BSB BSB: Therefore it towered higher than all the trees of the field. Its branches multiplied, and its boughs grew long as it spread them out because of the abundant waters.
6 ULB Todas as aves do céu se aninhavam nos seus ramos, todos os animais do campo davam cria debaixo das suas folhagens. E as nações se assentavam à sua sombra. BSB BSB: All the birds of the air nested in its branches, and all the beasts of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.
7 ULB Era formosa na sua grandeza e na extensão dos seus ramos e, nas muitas águas, estavam as suas raízes. BSB BSB: It was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its limbs, for its roots extended to abundant waters.
8 ULB Os cedros no jardim de Deus não se igualavam a ele. Nenhuma árvore de cipreste se assemelhava aos seus ramos, plátanos não se comparavam aos seus galhos. Não havia outra árvore no jardim de Deus como esta em sua formosura. BSB BSB: The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it; the cypresses could not compare with its branches, nor the plane trees match its boughs. No tree in the garden of God could compare with its beauty.
9 ULB Eu o fiz formoso com a multidão de ramos; e todas árvores do Éden, que estavam no jardim de Deus, tiveram inveja dele. BSB BSB: I made it beautiful with its many branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God.’
10 ULB Portanto, o Senhor Yahweh diz isto: Porque te elevaste em tua estatura, te levantaste no teu topo entre seus ramos e exaltaste teu coração por causa da tua altura. BSB BSB: Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Since it became great in height and set its top among the clouds, and it grew proud on account of its height,
11 ULB Eu te entreguei na mão da mais poderosa das nações, que te dará o tratamento merecido pela tua corrupção. Já te lançei fora. BSB BSB: I delivered it into the hand of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with it according to its wickedness. I have banished it.
12 ULB Estrangeiros, que eram terror de todas as nações, te cortaram e te deixaram morrer. Os teus ramos caíram sobre os montes e em todos vales; os teus renovos foram quebrados por todas correntes da terra. Então, todas as nações da Terra se retiraram debaixo das tuas sombras e te deixaram. BSB BSB: Foreigners, the most ruthless of the nations, cut it down and left it. Its branches have fallen on the mountains and in every valley; its boughs lay broken in all the earth’s ravines. And all the peoples of the earth left its shade and abandoned it.
13 ULB Todas as aves do céu pousavam no tronco da árvore caída e todos os animais do campo se vieram sobre os seus ramos. BSB BSB: All the birds of the air nested on its fallen trunk, and all the beasts of the field lived among its boughs.
14 ULB Isso aconteceu para que nenhuma outra árvore que crescesse junto às águas, se exaltasse pelas suas folhagens ou por sua altura, para que nenhuma outra árvore que cresce junto às águas crescesse até o alto. Pois todos elas estão destinadas à morte abaixo da terra, no meio dos filhos dos homens, com os que descem à cova. BSB BSB: This happened so that no other trees by the waters would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been consigned to death, to the depths of the earth, among the mortals who descend to the Pit.’
15 ULB O Senhor Yahweh diz: No dia em que o cedro desceu para o Sheol, Eu trouxe luto para a Terra, cobrí as suas águas profundas e retive as águas do oceano. Retive as águas profundas e fiz aparecer luto para o Líbano, por causa dele. E todas as árvores do campo desfaleceram por causa dele. BSB BSB: This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘On the day it was brought down to Sheol, I caused mourning. I covered the deep because of it; I held back its rivers; its abundant waters were restrained. I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field fainted because of it.
16 ULB Eu trouxe tremor para as nações ao som da sua queda, quando o fiz descer ao inferno, com aqueles que descem à cova. Eu consolei todas as árvores do Éden nos lugares mais baixos da Terra e o melhor do Líbano; as árvores que beberam as águas. BSB BSB: I made the nations quake at the sound of its downfall, when I cast it down to Sheol with those who descend to the Pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the well-watered trees, were consoled in the earth below.
17 ULB Pois elas também desceram com o cedro para o Sheol, para se unir aos que foram mortos pela espada. Estes foram seu braço forte, as nações que viviam às suas sombras. BSB BSB: They too descended with it to Sheol, to those slain by the sword. As its allies they had lived in its shade among the nations.
18 ULB Qual das árvores do Éden que era semelhante a ti em glória e em grandeza? Também tu serás derrubada com as árvores do Éden nas mais baixas partes da Terra; no meio dos incircuncisos, morarás com aqueles que foram mortos pela espada'. Este é Faraó e toda sua multidão— essa é a declaração do Senhor Yahweh". BSB BSB: Who then is like you in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? You also will be brought down to the depths of the earth to be with the trees of Eden. You will lie among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares the Lord GOD.’”
