1 ULB Gálatas insensatos, quem foi que vos enfeitiçou? Não foi a crucificação de Jesus Cristo vividamente representada diante de vossos olhos? BSB BSB: O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.
2 ULB Eu só quero saber isto de vós: recebestes o Espírito pelas obras da lei ou por acreditardes no que ouvistes? BSB BSB: I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
3 ULB Sois vós assim tão tolos? Começastes no Espírito para agora simplesmente terminardes na carne? BSB BSB: Are you so foolish? After starting in the Spirit, are you now finishing in the flesh?
4 ULB Sofrestes tantas coisas por nada? Seria de fato isso em vão? BSB BSB: Have you suffered so much for nothing, if it really was for nothing?
5 ULB Aquele que dá o Espírito a vós, e opera poderosas obras entre vós, faz isso pelas obras da Lei ou pelo ouvir com fé? BSB BSB: Does God lavish His Spirit on you and work miracles among you because you practice the law, or because you hear and believe?
6 ULB Como Abraão "creu em Deus e isto lhe foi creditado como justiça", BSB BSB: So also, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
7 ULB sabei, da mesma forma, que aqueles que acreditam são filhos de Abraão. BSB BSB: Understand, then, that those who have faith are sons of Abraham.
8 ULB A Escritura, prevendo que Deus justificaria os gentios pela fé, de antemão proclamou esta boa nova para Abraão, dizendo: "Em ti, todas as nações serão abençoadas". BSB BSB: The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and foretold the gospel to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”
9 ULB Assim, os que são da fé são abençoados juntamente com Abraão, o homem de fé. BSB BSB: So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
10 ULB Pois todos os que confiam nas obras da Lei estão debaixo de uma maldição, pois está escrito: "Maldito é todo o que não permanece na prática de todas as coisas escritas no livro da Lei". BSB BSB: All who rely on works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
11 ULB Agora está claro que Deus não justifica ninguém pela Lei, pois "O justo viverá pela fé". BSB BSB: Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.”
12 ULB A Lei não é de fé, mas, em vez disso, "Aquele que faz as obras da Lei viverá por elas". BSB BSB: The law, however, is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.”
14 ULB A fim de que a bênção de Abraão possa vir aos gentios em Cristo Jesus, de forma que, pela fé possamos receber a promessa do Espírito. BSB BSB: He redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
15 ULB Irmãos, falarei como homem. Mesmo em um testamento humano, ninguém o anula nem lhe acrescenta algo, uma vez que é estabelecido pela lei. BSB BSB: Brothers, let me put this in human terms. Even a human covenant, once it is ratified, cannot be canceled or amended.
16 ULB Agora, as promessas foram ditas a Abraão e ao seu descendente. Não é dito "aos descendentes", referindo-se a muitos; mas, em vez disso, a apenas um, "ao seu descendente", que é Cristo. BSB BSB: The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your seed,” meaning One, who is Christ.
17 ULB Agora, o que digo é isto: a Lei, vinda quatrocentos e trinta anos depois, não deixa de lado o Testamento previamente estabelecido por Deus. BSB BSB: What I mean is this: The law that came 430 years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to nullify the promise.
18 ULB Pois se a herança vem pela Lei, então não vem mais pela promessa. Todavia, Deus deu a herança a Abraão por uma promessa. BSB BSB: For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God freely granted it to Abraham through a promise.
19 ULB Qual é, então, o propósito da Lei? Ela foi acrescentada por causa das transgressões, até que o descendente de Abraão viesse àqueles para quem a promessa tinha sido feita. A Lei foi promulgada por meio de anjos por um mediador. BSB BSB: Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a mediator.
20 ULB Mas, um mediador implica em mais de uma pessoa; porém, Deus é um. BSB BSB: A mediator is unnecessary, however, for only one party; but God is one.
21 ULB Então, é a Lei contra as promessas de Deus? De jeito nenhum! Pois se tivesse sido dada uma lei capaz de dar vida, a justiça certamente teria vindo pela Lei. BSB BSB: Is the law, then, opposed to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come from the law.
22 ULB Mas a Escritura aprisionou todas as coisas debaixo do pecado. Deus assim o fez a fim de que a promessa da salvação pela fé em Jesus Cristo fosse dada aos que creem. BSB BSB: But the Scripture pronounces all things confined by sin, so that by faith in Jesus Christ the promise might be given to those who believe.
23 ULB Mas, antes que a fé em Cristo viesse, nós estávamos aprisionados e confinados debaixo da Lei, até a revelação da fé. BSB BSB: Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.
24 ULB Então a Lei se tornou nossa tutora, até que Cristo viesse, para que pudéssemos ser justificados pela fé. BSB BSB: So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 ULB Agora que a fé veio, nós não mais estamos sob um tutor. BSB BSB: Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
26 ULB Pois vós sois todos filhos de Deus, pela fé em Cristo Jesus. BSB BSB: You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 ULB Todos vós que fostes batizados em Cristo vos revestistes de Cristo. BSB BSB: For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
29 ULB Se vós sois de Cristo, então, sois descendentes de Abraão, herdeiros de acordo com a promessa. BSB BSB: And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.
