1 ULB Ouvi a palavra de Yahweh, vós povo de Israel. Yahweh tem uma acusação contra os habitantes da terra, porque não há verdade nem fidelidade à aliança, não há conhecimento de Deus na terra. BSB BSB: Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land!
2 ULB Há maldição, mentira, matança, roubo e adultério. Eles transgrediram além dos limites, e multiplicou-se o derramamento de sangue. BSB BSB: Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another.

BSB BSB: Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.
4 ULB Todavia, ninguém contenda; não deixeis que ninguém acuse ao outro. Porque sois vós, os sacerdotes, a quem estou acusando. BSB BSB: But let no man contend; let no man offer reproof; for your people are like those who contend with a priest.
5 ULB Vós, sacerdotes, tropeçareis de dia; igualmente, os profetas tropeçarão à noite, e Eu destruirei a vossa mãe. BSB BSB: You will stumble by day, and the prophet will stumble with you by night; so I will destroy your mother—
6 ULB O meu povo está sendo destruído por falta de conhecimento. Porque vós, sacerdotes, rejeitastes o conhecimento, também Eu vos rejeitarei como Meus sacerdotes. Porque esquecestes a Minha Lei, embora Eu seja o vosso Deus, também Me esquecerei dos vossos filhos. BSB BSB: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you as My priests. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
7 ULB Quanto mais multiplicavam os sacerdotes, mais eles pecavam contra Mim. Trocaram a sua honra por vergonha. BSB BSB: The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me; they exchanged their Glory for a thing of disgrace.
8 ULB Eles se alimentam dos pecados do Meu povo; eles são gananciosos por mais de sua maldade. BSB BSB: They feed on the sins of My people and set their hearts on iniquity.
9 ULB Também assim será para o povo: Eu punirei todos eles pelas suas práticas; Eu os retribuirei por suas ações. BSB BSB: And it shall be like people, like priest. I will punish both of them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.
10 ULB Comerão, mas não se fartarão; cometerão prostituição, mas não se multiplicarão, porque se distanciaram de Yahweh. BSB BSB: They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be promiscuous but not multiply. For they have abandoned the LORD to give themselves
11 ULB Amam a imoralidade sexual, o vinho, o vinho novo, e o que lhes tirou o entendimento. BSB BSB: to promiscuity, wine, and new wine, which take away understanding.
12 ULB O Meu povo consulta os seus ídolos de madeira, e as suas bengalas dão-lhes profecias. Porque uma mente de promiscuidade os desviou, e agiram como prostitutas, ao invés de serem fiéis ao seu Deus. BSB BSB: My people consult their wooden idols, and their divining rods inform them. For a spirit of prostitution leads them astray and they have played the harlot against their God.
13 ULB Eles sacrificam no alto dos montes e queimam incenso nas colinas, debaixo dos carvalhos, álamos e terebintos, porque sua sombra é boa. Por isso, as suas filhas cometem imoralidade sexual, e suas noras cometem adultério. BSB BSB: They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak, poplar, and terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters turn to prostitution and your daughters-in-law to adultery.
14 ULB Não punirei as vossas filhas quando escolherem cometer imoralidade sexual, nem as vossas noras quando cometerem adultério. Pois também os homens se dão às prostitutas, e oferecem sacrifícios para que eles possam cometer atos imorais com as prostitutas sagradas. Por isso, este povo sem entendimento será arruinado. BSB BSB: I will not punish your daughters when they prostitute themselves, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery. For the men themselves go off with prostitutes and offer sacrifices with shrine prostitutes. So a people without understanding will come to ruin.
15 ULB Embora tu, Israel, tenhas cometido adultério, que Judá não se torne culpado. Não venhais a Gilgal, vós povo, não subais a Bete-Áven, e não jureis, dizendo: "Vive Yahweh". BSB BSB: Though you prostitute yourself, O Israel, may Judah avoid such guilt! Do not journey to Gilgal, do not go up to Beth-aven, and do not swear on oath, ‘As surely as the LORD lives!’
16 ULB Pois Israel se comportou teimosamente, como uma vitela rebelde. Como pode Yahweh levá-los para um pasto, como o de cordeiros numa campina espaçosa? BSB BSB: For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn heifer. Can the LORD now shepherd them like lambs in an open meadow?
17 ULB Efraim juntou-se aos ídolos; deixai-o só. BSB BSB: Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone!
18 ULB Mesmo quando a sua bebida forte acaba, eles continuam a cometer adultério; Os seus líderes amam, apaixonadamente, a sua vergonha. BSB BSB: When their liquor is gone, they turn to prostitution; their rulers dearly love disgrace.
19 ULB O vento os envolveu nas suas asas, e serão envergonhados por causa dos seus sacrifícios. BSB BSB: The whirlwind has wrapped them in its wings, and their sacrifices will bring them shame.
