1 ULB Esta é a palavra que veio de Yahweh para Jeremias, quando o rei Zedequias enviou Pasur, filho de Malquias, e o sacerdote Sofonias, filho de Maaseias, que lhe disseram: BSB BSB: This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malchijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said,
2 ULB "Procura o conselho de Yahweh a nosso favor, pois Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, está levantando guerra contra nós. Talvez Yahweh realize milagres por nós, como no passado, e faça com que ele se afaste de nós". BSB BSB: “Please inquire of the LORD on our behalf, since Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is waging war against us. Perhaps the LORD will perform for us something like all His past wonders, so that Nebuchadnezzar will withdraw from us.”
3 ULB Então, Jeremias lhes disse: "Isto é o que deves dizer a Zedequias: BSB BSB: But Jeremiah answered, “You are to tell Zedekiah that
4 ULB 'Yahweh, Deus de Israel, diz: Vede, estou prestes a voltar contra vós os instrumentos de guerra que estão em vossas mãos, com os quais estais lutando contra o rei da Babilônia e os caldeus que vos estão cercando do outro lado dos muros! Eu os reunirei no meio desta cidade. BSB BSB: this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘I will turn against you the weapons of war in your hands, with which you are fighting the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the wall, and I will assemble their forces in the center of this city.
5 ULB Então, Eu mesmo lutarei contra vós, com a mão erguida e o braço forte e com indignação, fúria e grande ira. BSB BSB: And I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm, with anger, fury, and great wrath.
6 ULB Pois Eu atacarei os habitantes desta cidade, tanto homens como animais, e eles morrerão com uma praga severa. BSB BSB: I will strike down the residents of this city, both man and beast. They will die in a terrible plague.’
7 ULB Depois disso– esta é a declaração de Yahweh– Zedequias, rei de Judá, seus servos, o povo, e qualquer remanescente nesta cidade depois da praga, da espada e da fome, Eu entregarei todos nas mãos de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, de seus inimigos e daqueles que buscam tirar-lhes a vida. Então, ele os matará ao fio da espada. Ele não terá piedade, não os poupará ou terá compaixão.' BSB BSB: ‘After that,’ declares the LORD, ‘I will hand over Zedekiah king of Judah, his officers, and the people in this city who survive the plague and sword and famine, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who seek their lives. He will put them to the sword; he will not spare them or show pity or compassion.’
8 ULB Então, para este povo devereis dizer: 'Assim diz Yahweh: Vede, Eu estou prestes a colocar diante de vós o caminho da vida e o caminho da morte. BSB BSB: Furthermore, you are to tell this people that this is what the LORD says: ‘Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
9 ULB Qualquer um que permanecer nesta cidade morrerá pela espada, fome e praga; mas, qualquer um que sair e se ajoelhar diante dos babilônios que vos têm cercado, viverá. Este escapará com vida. BSB BSB: Whoever stays in this city will die by sword and famine and plague, but whoever goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans who besiege you will live; he will retain his life like a spoil of war.
10 ULB Pois eu estabeleci minha face contra esta cidade, em ordenança, para trazer desastre e não trazer o bem –esta é a declaração de Yahweh. Ela está sendo entregue nas mãos do rei da Babilônia, e ele a queimará.' BSB BSB: For I have set My face against this city to bring disaster and not good, declares the LORD. It will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, who will destroy it with fire.’
11 ULB Acerca da casa do rei de Judá, escutai a palavra de Yahweh: BSB BSB: Moreover, tell the house of the king of Judah to hear the word of the LORD.
12 ULB 'Casa de Davi', diz Yahweh, 'executa a justiça pela manhã e resgata os que foram roubados pelas mãos do opressor, ou Minha fúria virá como fogo e te queimará, pois não há ninguém que possa apagá-la, por causa da maldade de tuas práticas. BSB BSB: O house of David, this is what the LORD says: ‘Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, or My wrath will go forth like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it because of their evil deeds.
13 ULB Vede, habitantes do vale, planalto rochoso, Eu estou contra vós– esta é a declaração de Yahweh– Eu estou contra qualquer um que está dizendo: "Quem subirá para nos atacar?" ou "Quem entrará em nossas casas?" BSB BSB: Behold, I am against you who dwell above the valley, atop the rocky plateau—declares the LORD—you who say, “Who can come against us? Who can enter our dwellings?”
14 ULB Eu vos castigarei segundo o fruto de vossas práticas– esta é a declaração de Yahweh– e Eu acenderei nos arvoredos um fogo que consumirá tudo à sua volta." BSB BSB: I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the LORD. I will kindle a fire in your forest that will consume everything around you.’”
