1 ULB Estas são as áreas que o povo de Israel recebeu como herança na terra de Canaã, distribuídas a eles por Eleazar, o sacerdote, por Josué, filho de Num, e pelos líderes dos clãs das tribos dentre o povo de Israel. 3 ULB Porque Moisés já havia dado a herança das duas tribos e meia além do Jordão, mas não deu aos levitas herança alguma. BSB BSB: For Moses had given the inheritance east of the Jordan to the other two and a half tribes. But he granted no inheritance among them to the Levites.
4 ULB A tribo de José era, na verdade, duas tribos: Manassés e Efraim. BSB BSB: Then the sons of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh-barnea about you and me.
7 ULB Eu tinha quarenta anos quando Moisés, servo de Yahweh, me enviou de Cades-Barneia para espionar a terra. Eu lhe trouxe um relatório conforme estava no meu coração para fazer. BSB BSB: I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back to him an honest report.
8 ULB Porém, meus irmãos que subiram comigo fizeram o coração do povo derreter de medo. Mas eu perseverei em seguir Yahweh, meu Deus. BSB BSB: Although my brothers who went with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear, I remained loyal to the LORD my God.
9 ULB Moisés jurou naquele dia, dizendo: 'Certamente, a terra que pisou o teu pé será herança para ti e para teus filhos para sempre, porque seguiste completamente a Yahweh, meu Deus'. BSB BSB: On that day Moses swore to me, saying, ‘Surely the land on which you have set foot will be an inheritance to you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’
10 ULB Agora, eis que Yahweh me conservou vivo durante estes quarenta e cinco anos como Ele prometeu. Yahweh falou esta palavra a Moisés quando Israel ainda peregrinava no deserto. Hoje estou com oitenta e cinco anos de idade. BSB BSB: Now behold, as the LORD promised, He has kept me alive these forty-five years since He spoke this word to Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old,
11 ULB E ainda sou tão forte hoje como era no dia em que Moisés me enviou. Tenho tanta força agora para guerrear, para ir e para vir, como eu tinha antes. BSB BSB: still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. As my strength was then, so it is now for war, for going out, and for coming in.
12 ULB Agora, dá-me essa região montanhosa que Yahweh me prometeu naquele dia. Porque tu ouviste naquele dia que os anaqueus ali habitavam em grandes cidades fortificadas. Se Yahweh estiver comigo, eu os expulsarei, assim como Yahweh disse". BSB BSB: Now therefore give me this hill country that the LORD promised me on that day, for you yourself heard then that the Anakim were there, with great and fortified cities. Perhaps with the LORD’s help I will drive them out, as the LORD has spoken.”
13 ULB Então, Josué abençoou Calebe, filho de Jofoné, e deu-lhe Hebrom como herança. BSB BSB: Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.
14 ULB Assim, Hebrom tornou-se herança de Calebe, filho de Jefoné, o quenezeu, até o dia de hoje, porque ele seguiu fielmente a Yahweh, o Deus de Israel. BSB BSB: Therefore Hebron belongs to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite as an inheritance to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.
15 ULB O nome de Hebrom, anteriormente, era Quiriate-Arba (Arba havia sido o maior homem entre os anaqueus). E a terra descansou da guerra. BSB BSB: (Hebron used to be called Kiriath-arba, after Arba, the greatest man among the Anakim.) Then the land had rest from war.
