BSB BSB: And the LORD heard Israel’s plea and delivered up the Canaanites. Israel devoted them and their cities to destruction; so they named the place Hormah.

BSB BSB: and spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you led us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”
6 ULB Então, Yahweh enviou serpentes venenosas contra o povo. As serpentes picaram as pessoas; muitas morreram. BSB BSB: So the LORD sent venomous snakes among the people, and many of the Israelites were bitten and died.
7 ULB O povo veio a Moisés e disse: "Nós pecamos, porque murmuramos contra Yahweh e contra ti. Ora a Yahweh para que Ele leve as serpentes para longe de nós". Então, Moisés orou pelo povo. BSB BSB: Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so He will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses interceded for the people.
8 ULB Yahweh disse a Moisés: "Faz uma serpente e põe-na numa haste. Todo aquele que foi mordido sobreviverá, se olhar pra ela". BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”
9 ULB Então, Moisés fez uma serpente de bronze, e a colocou na haste. Quando uma serpente picava alguém, se ele olhasse para a serpente de bronze, sobrevivia. BSB BSB: So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it on a pole. If anyone who was bitten looked at the bronze snake, he would live.
10 ULB Então, o povo de Israel viajou e acampou em Obote. BSB BSB: Then the Israelites set out and camped at Oboth.
11 ULB Eles viajaram de Obote e acamparam no Ije-Abarim, no deserto de frente a Moabe, em direção ao leste. BSB BSB: They journeyed from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim in the wilderness opposite Moab to the east.

BSB BSB: “Let us pass through your land. We will not turn aside into any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
23 ULB Mas o rei Siom não permitiu a Israel atravessar seu território. Ao invés disso, Siom reuniu todo o seu exército e atacou Israel no deserto. Ele veio a Jaza, onde lutou contra Israel. BSB BSB: Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land as far as the Arnon.

28 ULB Um fogo ardeu de Hesbom, uma chama da cidade de Siom que devorou Ar de Moabe, e os senhores dos altos de Arnom. BSB BSB: For a fire went out from Heshbon, a blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of Arnon’s heights.
29 ULB Ai de ti, Moabe! Tu já perecestes, povo de Camos. Ele fez de seus filhos fugitivos e de suas filhas prisioneiras de Siom, rei dos amorreus. BSB BSB: Woe to you, O Moab! You are destroyed, O people of Chemosh! He gave up his sons as refugees, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon king of the Amorites.

34 ULB Então, Yahweh disse a Moisés: "Não o temas, porque Eu te dei a vitória sobre eles, e todo o seu exército, e toda a sua terra. Faça com ele o que tu fizestes com Siom, rei dos amorreus, que habitava em Hesbom". BSB BSB: But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.”
35 ULB Então, eles o mataram, seus filhos e todo o seu exército, até que nenhum deles ficou vivo. E eles lhes tomaram a terra. BSB BSB: So they struck down Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.
