Psalm 107 (ULB)

1Rendei graças a Yahweh porque Ele é bom e Seu amor leal dura para sempre.Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.

2Que repitam isso os redimidos de Yahweh, aqueles que Ele resgatou do poder do inimigo.Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy

3Ele os reuniu das terras estrangeiras, do leste e do oeste, do norte e do sul.and gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

4Eles vagaram no deserto, por terras áridas, e não encontraram cidade para habitar.Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no path to a city in which to dwell.

5Eles estavam famintos, sedentos e desmaiavam de exaustão.They were hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them.

6Então, nas suas dificuldades, clamaram a Yahweh e Ele os resgatou das suas aflições.Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.

7Ele os guiou pelo caminho reto. Então, encontraram uma cidade para viver.He led them on a straight path to reach a city where they could live.

8Que todos louvem a Yahweh por Seu amor leal e pelas maravilhas que Ele tem feito pela humanidade!Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

9Porque Ele sacia os sedentos e o apetite dos famintos, e os enche com bondade.For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

10Alguns se assentaram na escuridão e na sombra da morte, oprimidos em aflição e correntes.Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and chains,

11Isso porque eles se rebelaram contra a Palavra de Deus e rejeitaram os mandamentos do Altíssimo.because they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.

12Ele abateu os seus corações com trabalhos pesados; eles tropeçaram e não houve quem os erguesse.He humbled their hearts with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

13Assim, em suas dificuldades, eles clamaram a Yahweh. E Ele os livrou das suas aflições.Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.

14Ele os tirou da escuridão e das sombras da morte; e quebrou as suas algemas.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke away their chains.

15Oh! Que o povo louve a Yahweh por Seu amor leal e pelas maravilhas que Ele tem feito pela humanidade!Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

16Pois Ele quebrou os portões de bronze e cortou as barras de ferro.For He has broken down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.

17Eles foram insensatos em seus caminhos de rebelião e afligidos por causa dos seus pecados;Fools, in their rebellious ways, and through their iniquities, suffered affliction.

18perderam o apetite por qualquer comida e chegaram perto dos portões da morte.They loathed all food and drew near to the gates of death.

19Então, na sua dificuldade, eles clamaram a Yahweh; Ele os livrou das suas aflições.Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.

20Ele enviou a Sua Palavra e os curou; Ele os resgatou das suas tribulações.He sent forth His word and healed them; He rescued them from the Pit.

21Oh! Que o povo louve a Yahweh pelo Seu amor leal e pelas maravilhas que Ele tem feito pela humanidade!Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

22Que ofereçam sacrifícios de gratidão e proclamem, com alegria, os Seus feitos.Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing.

23Os que viajam, em navios pelos mares, para negociar além-marOthers went out to sea in ships, conducting trade on the mighty waters.

24viram os feitos de Yahweh e as suas maravilhas nas profundezas.They saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep.

25Porque Ele ordenou e a tempestade se levantou nos mares.For He spoke and raised a tempest that lifted the waves of the sea.

26Os navios alcançaram o céu, desceram às profundezas. Suas vidas se derreteram em aflição.They mounted up to the heavens, then sunk to the depths; their courage melted in their anguish.

27Eles foram balançados e cambaleavam como bêbados; por fim, perderam toda a esperança de salvação.They reeled and staggered like drunkards, and all their skill was useless.

28Assim, na dificuldade, eles clamaram a Yahweh que os tirou da aflição.Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress.

29Ele acalmou a tempestade e as ondas se aquietaram.He calmed the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed.

30Então, eles se regozijaram porque o mar se acalmou; Ele os levou ao porto desejado.They rejoiced in the silence, and He guided them to the harbor they desired.

31Oh! Quisera que todas as pessoas louvassem a Yahweh por Seu amor leal e pelas maravilhas que Ele tem feito para a humanidade!Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

32Que elas O exaltem na assembleia do povo e O louvem no conselho dos anciãos!Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the council of the elders.

33Ele transformou rios em um deserto, fontes de águas em terra seca,He turns rivers into deserts, springs of water into thirsty ground,

34e uma terra frutífera em um lugar estéril, por causa da maldade desse povo.and fruitful land into fields of salt, because of the wickedness of its dwellers.

35Ele transformou o deserto em poços de água e terra seca em mananciais.He turns a desert into pools of water and a dry land into flowing springs.

36Ele estabeleceu famintos ali, e eles edificaram uma cidade para viver.He causes the hungry to settle there, that they may establish a city in which to dwell.

37Plantaram campos, vinhas e produziram colheitas abundantes.They sow fields and plant vineyards that yield a fruitful harvest.

38Ele os abençoou, de modo que eles se multiplicaram grandemente; não permitiu que seu rebanho diminuisse.He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; He does not let their herds diminish.

39Eles foram reduzidos e humilhados por dolorosa aflição e sofrimento.When they are decreased and humbled by oppression, evil, and sorrow,

40Ele derramou desprezo sobre os líderes e os fez vaguear por lugares desertos, onde não há caminho.He pours out contempt on the nobles and makes them wander in a trackless wasteland.

41Ele ergueu o necessitado da miséria e multiplicou suas famílias, como um rebanho.But He lifts the needy from affliction and increases their families like flocks.

42O justo verá isso e se alegrará, e todo o ímpio fechará a sua boca.The upright see and rejoice, and all iniquity shuts its mouth.

43Quem é sábio considere tudo isso e medite nos bondosos atos de Yahweh.Let him who is wise pay heed to these things and consider the loving devotion of the LORD.
