1 ULB Esta é a palavra de Yahweh que veio a Sofonias, filho de Cuchi, filho de Gedalias, filho de Amarias, filho de Ezequias, nos dias de Josias, filho de Amom, rei de Judá. BSB BSB: This is the word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah:
2 ULB "Eu destruirei tudo sobre a face da terra", assim diz Yahweh: BSB BSB: “I will completely sweep away everything from the face of the earth,” declares the LORD.
3 ULB "Destruirei homens e animais. Destruirei as aves dos céus, os peixes do mar e todos os que causam tropeços. Extirparei o homem da face da terra", assim diz Yahweh. BSB BSB: “I will sweep away man and beast; I will sweep away the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and the idols with their wicked worshipers. I will cut off mankind from the face of the earth,” declares the LORD.
4 ULB Estenderei a minha mão sobre Judá e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém. Aniquilarei deste lugar todo remanescente de Baal e os nomes dos idólatras entre os sacerdotes, BSB BSB: “I will stretch out My hand against Judah and against all who dwell in Jerusalem. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the idolatrous and pagan priests—
5 ULB as pessoas que estão sobre os telhados e que adoraram os corpos celestes; aqueles que adoram a Yahweh e juram por Ele, mas também juram por Milcom. BSB BSB: those who bow on the rooftops to worship the host of heaven, those who bow down and swear by the LORD but also swear by Milcom,
6 ULB Também aniquilarei aqueles que deixam de seguir Yahweh, que não buscam a Ele nem o consultam". BSB BSB: and those who turn back from following the LORD, neither seeking the LORD nor inquiring of Him.”
7 ULB Calai-vos na presença do Senhor Yahweh, pois o Seu dia se aproxima; Yahweh preparou o sacrifício dedicado aos seus convidados. BSB BSB: Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD, for the Day of the LORD is near. Indeed, the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has consecrated His guests.
8 ULB "E acontecerá que, no dia do sacrifício de Yahweh, castigarei os príncipes e os filhos do rei e todos que se vestem de roupas estrangeiras. BSB BSB: “On the Day of the LORD’s sacrifice I will punish the princes, the sons of the king, and all who are dressed in foreign apparel.
9 ULB Nesse dia castigarei todos aqueles que saltam a soleira, os que enchem a casa do seu mestre com violência e engano". BSB BSB: On that day I will punish all who leap over the threshold, who fill the house of their master with violence and deceit.
10 ULB "Assim será naquele dia", diz Yahweh, "que um choro de angústia virá da porta do Peixe, lamentação do Segundo Distrito e um grande ruído de destruição dos montes. BSB BSB: On that day,” declares the LORD, “a cry will go up from the Fish Gate, a wail from the Second District, and a loud crashing from the hills.
11 ULB Lamentai, habitantes do Distrito do Mercado, pois todos os mercadores serão arruinados, e todos que pesam a prata serão aniquilados. BSB BSB: Wail, O dwellers of the Hollow, for all your merchants will be silenced; all who weigh out silver will be cut off.
12 ULB E acontecerá que naquele tempo esquadrinharei Jerusalém com lanternas e castigarei os homens apegados ao seu vinho e dizem nos seus corações: 'Yahweh não fará nada, nem bem nem mal'. 16 ULB Será dia de trombetas e alarmes contra as cidades fortificadas e as torres altas. BSB BSB: a day of horn blast and battle cry against the fortified cities, and against the high corner towers.
17 ULB Pois Eu trarei angústia sobre a humanidade e, então, andarão como homens cegos, pois pecaram contra Yahweh. Seu sangue será despejado como pó, e suas entranhas como esterco. BSB BSB: I will bring such distress on mankind that they will walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the LORD. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung.
18 ULB Nem a sua prata nem o seu ouro serão capazes de salvá-los no dia da fúria de Yahweh. O fogo dos ciúmes de Yahweh consumirá toda terra, pois a aniquilação que Ele trará contra os habitantes da terra será terrível. BSB BSB: Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the Day of the LORD’s wrath.
