Then Joseph instructed his steward: “Fill the men’s sacks with as much food as they can carry, and put each one’s silver in the mouth of his sack.
2
RHG
Ze beggunor šoṛo hitar bostar mukot ãr rufar fiyalawa edde hitar gĩyu kinibar ṭiya di diyo." Toi hite Yusufe hoiyede mozin goijje.

Put my cup, the silver one, in the mouth of the youngest one’s sack, along with the silver for his grain.” So the steward did as Joseph had instructed.

At daybreak, the men were sent on their way with their donkeys.

They had not gone far from the city when Joseph told his steward, “Pursue the men at once, and when you overtake them, ask, ‘Why have you repaid good with evil?
5
RHG
Iba loi no ne ãr munife fiyede edde gonafora gorede? Tũwara iyan ziyan goijjo, ek horaf ham goijjo!'"

Is this not the cup my master drinks from and uses for divination? What you have done is wicked!’”
6
RHG
Gór sõloyaye hitarare doijjegoi edde he hota okkol hitarare hoiye.
BSB
BSB:
When the steward overtook them, he relayed these words to them.
7
RHG
Kintu hitara hitare hodde, "Ãr malike endilla hota okkol kiyolla hor? Õnor gulam okkole endilla ham hono din no goribo!
BSB
BSB:
“Why does my lord say these things?” they asked. “Your servants could not possibly do such a thing.
8
RHG
So, ãra bostar mukot ze ṭĩya failam hin ãra Kenan dešottu uwafes tũwar hãse firai anni, hen abostat ãra õnor munifor góror šuna rufa kiyolla sur goriyum?
BSB
BSB:
We even brought back to you from the land of Canaan the silver we found in the mouths of our sacks. Why would we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
9
RHG
Õnor ei gulam okkol zar hãse iba fazaibo, hite moribo; ar ãra o ãr malikor gulam oiyum."
BSB
BSB:
If any of your servants is found to have it, he must die, and the rest will become slaves of my lord.”
10
RHG
Toi hite hodde, "Bala, tũwara hodde mozin oibo; zar hãse fa zaibo, hite ãr gulam oibo, ar baki tũwarar hosuri sara oiba."
BSB
BSB:
“As you say,” replied the steward. “But only the one who is found with the cup will be my slave, and the rest of you shall be free of blame.”
11
RHG
Toi hitara toratori goijje edde ek ekzone hitar nizor bosta meṛit lamaiye, edde zar zar bosta te kuille.
BSB
BSB:
So each one quickly lowered his sack to the ground and opened it.

RHG
Toi hite ḍõr báiyor bostattu loti šuru gori šoṛo báiyor bosta foijjonto tuwaiye. Ar Fiyalawa Benyaminor bostat fa giye.
BSB

The steward searched, beginning with the oldest and ending with the youngest—and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack.
13
RHG
Toi hitara hitarar nizor hor faiṭṭe, edde zar zar bosta gadar fiṛot bandi loi uwafes šohorot firi giye.
BSB

Then they all tore their clothes, loaded their donkeys, and returned to the city.

Ehudah edde hitar báiyain okkol Yusufor górot aišše, ar Yusuf hehono heṛe aššil; toi hitara Yusufor sarme meṛit ũite foijje.
BSB
BSB:
When Judah and his brothers arrived at Joseph’s house, he was still there, and they fell to the ground before him.
15
RHG
Yusufe hitarare hodde, "Tũwara goijjode in ki goijjo? Ãr ḍoilla manuše ze goni fare, hiyan ki tũwara no zano?"
BSB
BSB:
“What is this deed you have done?” Joseph declared. “Do you not know that a man like me can surely divine the truth?”
16
RHG
Ehudaye hodde, "Ãr malikore ãra ki hoi faijjum? Ki hota hoiyum? Ãra nidušide hiyan ken gori dehai faijjum? Õnor gulam okkolor hosuri Allaye tuwai bair goijje. So, zar hãse fiyala fa giye hite edde ãra ãr ehon malikor gulam."
BSB
BSB:
“What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied. “How can we plead? How can we justify ourselves? God has exposed the iniquity of your servants. We are now my lord’s slaves—both we and the one who was found with the cup.”
17
RHG
Kintu Yusufe hodde, "Endilla ham ãi hono din gori no faijjum! Zar hãse he fiyala fa giye lehar te ãr gulam oibo. Ar tũwara šanti bafe tũwarar bafor heṛe firizaigoi fariba."
BSB
BSB:
But Joseph replied, “Far be it from me to do this. The man who was found with the cup will be my slave. The rest of you may return to your father in peace.”
18
RHG
Tarfore Ehudaye Yusufor ḍake zai hodde: "O ãr malik, foriyad gorir, õnor ei gulamore ekkan hota hoibolla ejazot do. Õnor gulamor uwore gušša no goijjo, õne, Feruwanor fuwainna.
BSB
BSB:
Then Judah approached Joseph and said, “Sir, please let your servant speak personally to my lord. Do not be angry with your servant, for you are equal to Pharaoh himself.
19
RHG
Ãr malike hibar gulam okkolore fusar goijjila, 'Tũwarar baf bái ase ne?'
BSB
BSB:
My lord asked his servants, ‘Do you have a father or a brother?’
20
RHG
Ar ãra malikore zuwab dilam, 'Ãrattu ek burá baf ase, ar hibattu burá halor ek fut ase; ar hitar bái mora giye, ar hite ekela ek mar ek fut, hitar bafe hitare beši ador gore.'
BSB
BSB:
And we answered, ‘We have an elderly father and a younger brother, the child of his old age. The boy’s brother is dead. He is the only one of his mother’s sons left, and his father loves him.’
21
RHG
"Toi õne õnor gulam okkolore hoila, 'Tũwara hitare eṛe anogoi, ãi hitare niz suke saiyum.'
BSB
BSB:
Then you told your servants, ‘Bring him down to me so that I can see him for myself.’
22
RHG
Ar ãra ãr malikore hoilam, 'He zuwan bafore eri ai no faribo; hite hitar bafore eri aile, hitar baf mori zaiboi.'
BSB
BSB:
So we said to my lord, ‘The boy cannot leave his father. If he were to leave, his father would die.’
23
RHG
Kintu õne ei gulam okkolore hoila, 'Tũwarar šoṛo báiyore zodi tũwarar fũwati no ano, tũwara ãr sarme ai no fariba.'
BSB
BSB:
But you said to your servants, ‘Unless your younger brother comes down with you, you will not see my face again.’
24
RHG
Toi ãra õnor gulam ãr bafor górot uwafes zaiyore, ãra ãr malikor hár hota hibare zanailam.
BSB
BSB:
Now when we returned to your servant my father, we relayed your words to him.
25
RHG
"Toi ãrar bafe hodde, 'Tũwara abar zo, ãralla hodun haiddo kini anogoi.'
BSB
BSB:
Then our father said, ‘Go back and buy us some food.’
26
RHG
Ãra hoilam, 'Ãra lamat zai no farir; zodi ãrar šoṛo bái ãrar fũwati take, toile ãra zai faridde, kiyollahoile ãrar šoṛo bái fũwati no takile, ãra manušwar muk sai no faijjum.'
BSB
BSB:
But we answered, ‘We cannot go down there unless our younger brother goes with us. So if our younger brother is not with us, we cannot see the man.’
27
RHG
Toi õnor gulam, ãrar bafe ãrare hodde, 'Tũwara zano ze ãr bouwe ãlla dui futore biyaiye,
BSB
BSB:
And your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons.
28
RHG
henttu o ekzon ãttu giyegoi, ar ãi hoilam, "hite hameka hanhan oi giyegoi" hiyattu loti ãi hitare ar no dekilam.
BSB
BSB:
When one of them was gone, I said: “Surely he has been torn to pieces.” And I have not seen him since.
29
RHG
Ehon ãttu itare o zodi loizogoi, edde hitar hono bifod goṭe, toile tũwara hitar dukke ei burá boyošot ãre fatalot lamai diba.'
BSB
BSB:
Now if you also take this one from me and harm comes to him, you will bring my gray hair down to Sheol in sorrow.’
30
RHG
"Ar ehon, õnor gulam ãr bafor munttu ãi hazir oile, edde fuwawa ãrar fũwati no takile, (zar foranor hitar foran loi gãta),
BSB
BSB:
So if the boy is not with us when I return to your servant, and if my father, whose life is wrapped up in the boy’s life,
31

BSB
BSB:
sees that the boy is not with us, he will die. Then your servants will have brought the gray hair of your servant our father down to Sheol in sorrow.
32
RHG
Ar õnor gulam ãrar bafor hãse ãi ei zuwanor zabin oi hoilam, 'Ãi zodi hitare tũwar hãse firai no ani, toile ãi ãr bafor hãse zibonbor hosurbon takiyum!'
BSB
BSB:
Indeed, your servant guaranteed the boy’s safety to my father, saying, ‘If I do not return him to you, I will bear the guilt before you, my father, all my life.’
33
RHG
"Hetolla aroz gorir, ei fuwawar bodole ãre õnor gulam hisabe rako, edde ei fuwaware hitar báiyaindor fũwati firi zaito do.
BSB
BSB:
Now please let your servant stay here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy. Let him return with his brothers.
34
RHG
Ei fuware no loi zaiyore ãi ken gori ãr bafor hãse firizai faijjum? Edde bafor ze bifod goṭibo hin o ken gori sai faijjum?"
BSB
BSB:
For how can I go back to my father without the boy? I could not bear to see the misery that would overwhelm him.”
