1 GLT And it will happen, when you have come into the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you{ as} an inheritance and you possess it and live in it, BSB BSB: When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you take possession of it and settle in it,
2 GLT then you shall take from the first of all the harvest of the land that you have brought in from the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you. And you shall put{ it} in a basket and go to the place that Yahweh your God will choose{ for} his name to dwell there. BSB BSB: you are to take some of the firstfruits of all your produce from the soil of the land that the LORD your God is giving you and put them in a basket. Then go to the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name,
3 GLT And you shall go to the priest who will be in those days and say to him,‘I declare today to Yahweh your God that I have come to the land that Yahweh swore to our fathers to give to us.’ BSB BSB: to the priest who is serving at that time, and say to him, “I declare today to the LORD your God that I have entered the land that the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.”
4 GLT And the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it before the face of the altar of Yahweh your God. BSB BSB: Then the priest shall take the basket from your hands and place it before the altar of the LORD your God,
6 GLT And the Egyptians treated us badly and afflicted us. And they set it— hard work— upon us. BSB BSB: But the Egyptians mistreated us and afflicted us, putting us to hard labor.
7 GLT And we cried out to Yahweh, the God of our fathers, and Yahweh heard our voice and saw our affliction and our labor and our oppression. BSB BSB: So we called out to the LORD, the God of our fathers; and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction, toil, and oppression.
8 GLT And Yahweh brought us out from Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with great fearsomeness and with signs and with wonders; BSB BSB: Then the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, signs, and wonders.
9 GLT and he has brought us to this place and has given to us this land, a land flowing{ with} milk and honey. BSB BSB: And He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
10 GLT And now, behold, I have brought the first of the harvest of the land that Yahweh has given to me.’ And you shall set it down before the face of Yahweh your God and bow down before the face of Yahweh your God; BSB BSB: And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land that You, O LORD, have given me.” Then you are to place the basket before the LORD your God and bow down before Him.
11 GLT and you shall rejoice in all the good that Yahweh your God has given to you and to your house— you and the Levite and the foreigner who{ is} among you. BSB BSB: So you shall rejoice—you, the Levite, and the foreigner dwelling among you—in all the good things the LORD your God has given to you and your household.
12 GLT When you have finished tithing all the tithe of your harvest in the third year— the year of tithing— then you shall give{ it} to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, and they may eat within your gates and be satisfied. BSB BSB: When you have finished laying aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you are to give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat and be filled within your gates.
13 GLT And you shall say before the face of Yahweh your God,‘I have removed from my house the things set apart, and also have given it to the Levite, and to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all your commandments that you have commanded me. I have not transgressed any of your commandments, neither have I forgotten. BSB BSB: Then you shall declare in the presence of the LORD your God, “I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all the commandments You have given me. I have not transgressed or forgotten Your commandments.
14 GLT I have not eaten from it in my mourning, nor have I removed from it in sin, nor have I given from it to the dead. I have listened to the voice of Yahweh my God; I have done according to all that you have commanded me. BSB BSB: I have not eaten any of the sacred portion while in mourning, or removed any of it while unclean, or offered any of it for the dead. I have obeyed the LORD my God; I have done everything You commanded me.
15 GLT Look down from your holy habitation, from the heavens, and bless your people, Israel, and the land that you have given to us, as you had sworn to our fathers, a land flowing{ with} milk and honey.’ BSB BSB: Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land You have given us as You swore to our fathers—a land flowing with milk and honey.”
16 GLT This day Yahweh your God is commanding you to obey these statutes and ordinances; and you shall keep and do them with all your heart and with all your spirit. BSB BSB: The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these statutes and ordinances. You must be careful to follow them with all your heart and with all your soul.
17 GLT You have declared today: Yahweh is your God, and you shall walk in his ways and keep his statutes and his commandments and his ordinances, and you shall listen to his voice. BSB BSB: Today you have proclaimed that the LORD is your God and that you will walk in His ways, keep His statutes and commandments and ordinances, and listen to His voice.
18 GLT Today Yahweh has declared that you are his, a people for a possession, as he had spoken to you, and to keep all his commandments, BSB BSB: And today the LORD has proclaimed that you are His people and treasured possession as He promised, that you are to keep all His commandments,
19 GLT and he will set you high above all the nations that he has made, for praise and for a name and for beauty. And you will be a sanctified people for Yahweh your God, just as he has spoken.” BSB BSB: that He will set you high in praise and name and honor above all the nations He has made, and that you will be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised.
