GLT “Set apart to me all the firstborn, openers of every womb among the sons of Israel, among man and among beast; he is mine.” BSB BSB: “Consecrate to Me every firstborn male. The firstborn from every womb among the Israelites belongs to Me, both of man and beast.”
GLT And Moses said to the people,“Remember this day, that you went out from Egypt, from the house of slavery, because by a strong hand Yahweh brought you out from here. And no yeast may be eaten. BSB BSB: So Moses told the people, “Remember this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; for the LORD brought you out of it by the strength of His hand. And nothing leavened shall be eaten.
GLT Today you are going out, in the month of Aviv. BSB BSB: Today, in the month of Abib, you are leaving.
GLT And it will be that Yahweh will bring you to the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, which he swore to your fathers to give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey— and you shall serve this service in this month. BSB BSB: And when the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites—the land He swore to your fathers that He would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey—you shall keep this service in this month.
GLT Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day{ there shall be} a festival to Yahweh. BSB BSB: For seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LORD.
GLT Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days, and leavened bread may not be seen among you. And yeast may not be seen among you within any of your borders. BSB BSB: Unleavened bread shall be eaten during those seven days. Nothing leavened may be found among you, nor shall leaven be found anywhere within your borders.
GLT And you shall tell your son on that day, saying,‘This is because of what Yahweh did for me when I came out from Egypt.’ BSB BSB: And on that day you are to explain to your son, ‘This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’
GLT And it shall be a sign for you on your hand and a memorial between your eyes, so that the law of Yahweh may be in your mouth, for with a strong hand Yahweh brought you out from Egypt. BSB BSB: It shall be a sign for you on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the Law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For with a mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.

GLT And every opener of a donkey you shall ransom with a lamb. And if you do not ransom it, then you shall break his neck. And all the firstborn of men among your sons, you shall ransom. BSB BSB: You must redeem every firstborn donkey with a lamb, and if you do not redeem it, you are to break its neck. And every firstborn of your sons you must redeem.
GLT And so it will be, when your son asks you later, saying,‘What is this?’ then you shall say to him,‘With a strong hand Yahweh brought us out from Egypt, from the house of slaves.’ BSB BSB: In the future, when your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you are to tell him, ‘With a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
GLT And so it was, that when Pharaoh was hard to let us go, then Yahweh struck all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of man and to the firstborn of beast. That is why I sacrifice to Yahweh all the openers of the womb— the males— and I ransom all of the firstborn of my sons.’ BSB BSB: And when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of man and beast. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the firstborn male of every womb, but I redeem all the firstborn of my sons.’
GLT And it shall be a sign on your hand and a headband between your eyes, for with a strong hand Yahweh brought us out from Egypt.” BSB BSB: So it shall serve as a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead, for with a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt.”
