1 GLT And this{ is} the thing that you shall do to them to set them apart to be priests to me. Take one bull, a son of the herd, and two unblemished rams BSB BSB: “Now this is what you are to do to consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve Me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams without blemish,
2 GLT and unleavened bread and unleavened cakes mixed with oil and unleavened wafers rubbed with oil. Make them with fine flour of wheat. BSB BSB: along with unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil. Make them out of fine wheat flour,
3 GLT And you shall put them into one basket, and you shall bring them near in the basket, and the bull and the two rams. BSB BSB: put them in a basket, and present them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams.
4 GLT And you shall bring Aaron and his sons near to the entrance of the tent of meeting. And you shall wash them with water. BSB BSB: Then present Aaron and his sons at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and wash them with water.
5 GLT And you shall take the garments, and you shall clothe Aaron with the tunic and the robe of the ephod and the ephod and the breastpiece, and you shall fasten the ephod to him with the finely woven waistband of the ephod. BSB BSB: Take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself, and the breastplate. Fasten the ephod on him with its woven waistband.
6 GLT And you shall set the turban on his head and put the crown of holiness on the turban. BSB BSB: Put the turban on his head and attach the holy diadem to the turban.
7 GLT And you shall take the oil of anointing and pour it on his head and anoint him. BSB BSB: Then take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.
8 GLT And you shall bring his sons and clothe them with tunics. BSB BSB: Present his sons as well and clothe them with tunics.
9 GLT And you shall wrap them— Aaron and his sons— with the sash and bind headbands to them. And the priesthood will be to them as a statute forever. And you shall fill the hand of Aaron and the hand of his sons. BSB BSB: Wrap the sashes around Aaron and his sons and tie headbands on them. The priesthood shall be theirs by a permanent statute. In this way you are to ordain Aaron and his sons.
10 GLT And you shall bring the bull to the face of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull. BSB BSB: You are to present the bull at the front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head.
11 GLT And you shall slaughter the bull before the face of Yahweh at the entrance of the tent of meeting. BSB BSB: And you shall slaughter the bull before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
12 GLT And you shall take from the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and you shall pour out all of the blood on the base of the altar. BSB BSB: Take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger; then pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
13 GLT And you shall take all of the fat covering the entrails and the lobe above the liver and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and cause them to become smoke on the altar. BSB BSB: Take all the fat that covers the entrails and the lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.
14 GLT But you shall burn the flesh of the bull and its skin and its dung in the fire outside of the camp. It is a purification offering. BSB BSB: But burn the flesh of the bull and its hide and dung outside the camp; it is a sin offering.
15 GLT And you shall take one ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram, BSB BSB: Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
16 GLT and you shall slaughter the ram. And you shall take its blood and sprinkle it all around on the altar. BSB BSB: You are to slaughter the ram, take its blood, and splatter it on all sides of the altar.
17 GLT And you shall cut the ram into pieces and wash its entrails and its legs and put them on its pieces and on its head, BSB BSB: Cut the ram into pieces, wash the entrails and legs, and place them with its head and other pieces.
18 GLT and cause all of the ram to become smoke on the altar. It is a burnt offering to Yahweh. It is a scent of appeasement, a fire offering to Yahweh. BSB BSB: Then burn the entire ram on the altar; it is a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.
19 GLT And you shall take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram, BSB BSB: Take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head.
20 GLT and you shall slaughter the ram and take some of its blood. And you shall put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron and on the tip of the right ear of his sons and on the thumb of their right hand and on the great toe of their right foot. And you shall sprinkle the blood all around on the altar. BSB BSB: Slaughter the ram, take some of its blood, and put it on the right earlobes of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Splatter the remaining blood on all sides of the altar.
21 GLT And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar and some of the oil of anointing and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments and on his sons and on the garments of his sons along with him. And he will be set apart and his garments and his sons and the garments of his sons along with him. BSB BSB: And take some of the blood on the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments, as well as on his sons and their garments. Then he and his garments will be consecrated, as well as his sons and their garments.
22 GLT And you shall take the fat from the ram and the fat tail and the fat covering the entrails and the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them and the right thigh— for this is a ram of consecration— BSB BSB: Take the fat from the ram, the fat tail, the fat covering the entrails, the lobe of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh (since this is a ram for ordination),
23 GLT and one round loaf of bread, and one cake of bread of oil, and one wafer from the basket of unleavened bread that is before the face of Yahweh. BSB BSB: along with one loaf of bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer from the basket of unleavened bread that is before the LORD.
24 GLT And you shall put all these on the palms of Aaron and on the palms of his sons, and you shall raise them as a raised offering before the face of Yahweh. BSB BSB: Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.
25 GLT And you shall take them from their hands, and cause them to become smoke on the altar above the burnt offering to be an aroma of appeasing before the face of Yahweh, it is a fire offering to Yahweh. BSB BSB: Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar atop the burnt offering as a pleasing aroma before the LORD; it is a food offering to the LORD.
26 GLT And you shall take the breast from the ram of consecration that is for Aaron and raise it for a raised offering before the face of Yahweh, and it will be your share. BSB BSB: Take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s ordination and wave it before the LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your portion.
27 GLT And from the ram of consecration which is for Aaron and which is for his sons, you shall set apart the breast of the raised offering that was raised and the thigh of the contribution that was contributed. BSB BSB: Consecrate for Aaron and his sons the breast of the wave offering that is waved and the thigh of the heave offering that is lifted up from the ram of ordination.
28 GLT And it shall belong to Aaron and to his sons— as an eternal requirement— for it is an offering from the sons of Israel. And it shall be an offering from the sons of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, their offerings to Yahweh. BSB BSB: This will belong to Aaron and his sons as a regular portion from the Israelites, for it is the heave offering the Israelites will make to the LORD from their peace offerings.
29 GLT And the garments of holiness that are for Aaron shall be for his sons after him, for anointing in them and to fill their hand in them. BSB BSB: The holy garments that belong to Aaron will belong to his sons after him, so they can be anointed and ordained in them.
30 GLT The priest who succeeds him from among his sons, who comes into the tent of meeting to serve in the Holy Place, shall wear them for seven days. BSB BSB: The son who succeeds him as priest and enters the Tent of Meeting to minister in the Holy Place must wear them for seven days.
31 GLT And you shall take the ram of consecration and boil its meat in a holy place. BSB BSB: You are to take the ram of ordination and boil its flesh in a holy place.
32 GLT And Aaron and his sons shall eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket at the entrance to the tent of meeting. BSB BSB: At the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.
33 GLT And they shall eat these that were for their atoning to fill their hand, to set them apart. But a stranger shall not eat them, because they are set apart. BSB BSB: They must eat those things by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no outsider may eat them, because these things are sacred.
34 GLT And if any meat of the consecration or any of the bread remains until the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire. It shall not be eaten, because it is set apart. BSB BSB: And if any of the meat of ordination or any bread is left until the morning, you are to burn up the remainder. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
35 GLT And thus you shall do to Aaron and to his sons according to all that I have commanded you: you shall fill their hand seven days. BSB BSB: This is what you are to do for Aaron and his sons based on all that I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.
36 GLT And you shall offer a bull of purification for atonement daily, and you shall purify the altar by making atonement for it. And you shall anoint it to set it apart. BSB BSB: Sacrifice a bull as a sin offering each day for atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.
37 GLT You shall make atonement for the altar seven days, and set it apart. And the altar will be a holiest holy thing. Whatever touches the altar will be set apart. BSB BSB: For seven days you shall make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will become most holy; whatever touches the altar will be holy.
38 GLT And this is what you shall offer on the altar every day continually: two lambs, sons of a year. BSB BSB: This is what you are to offer regularly on the altar, each day: two lambs that are a year old.
39 GLT The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer between the evenings. BSB BSB: Offer one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight.
40 GLT For the first lamb: a tenth of fine flour mixed with pressed oil(the fourth part of a hin) and a drink offering: the fourth part of a hin of wine. BSB BSB: With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with a quarter hin of oil from pressed olives, and a drink offering of a quarter hin of wine.
41 GLT And you shall offer the second lamb between the evenings. You shall offer the same grain offering as in the morning and the same drink offering with it for a scent of appeasement, a fire offering to Yahweh. BSB BSB: And offer the second lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning, as a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.
42 GLT It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations, at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the face of Yahweh, there where I will meet with you to speak to you there. BSB BSB: For the generations to come, this burnt offering shall be made regularly at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet you to speak with you.
43 GLT And I will meet with the sons of Israel there, and it will be set apart by my glory. BSB BSB: I will also meet with the Israelites there, and that place will be consecrated by My glory.
44 GLT And I will set apart the tent of meeting and the altar. And I will set apart Aaron and his sons to be priests to me. BSB BSB: So I will consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and I will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve Me as priests.
45 GLT And I will live among the sons of Israel and will be their God. BSB BSB: Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.
46 GLT And they will know that I am Yahweh their God, who brought them out from the land of Egypt to live among them. I am Yahweh their God. BSB BSB: And they will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
