1 GLT Then Yahweh said to Noah,“Go into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen{ that} you{ are} righteous before me in this generation. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
2 GLT From every clean animal take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, and from{ every} animal that{ is} not clean{ take} two, a male and its female, BSB BSB: You are to take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate; a pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate;
3 GLT also from{ every} bird of the sky{ take} seven pairs, male and female, to keep{ their} offspring alive on the surface of the whole earth, BSB BSB: and seven pairs of every kind of bird of the air, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of all the earth.
4 GLT because in seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth{ for} forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe every living thing that I have made off the surface of the ground.” BSB BSB: For seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living thing I have made.”
5 GLT Then Noah did all that Yahweh had commanded him. BSB BSB: And Noah did all that the LORD had commanded him.
6 GLT Now Noah{ was} a son of 600 years when the floodwaters came on the earth. BSB BSB: Now Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters came upon the earth.
7 GLT And Noah and his sons and his wife and the wives of his sons went with him into the ark from the presence of the waters of the flood. BSB BSB: And Noah and his wife, with his sons and their wives, entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
8 GLT { Pairs} from the clean animal{ s} and from the animal{ s} that are not clean and from the bird{ s} and everything that moves on the ground BSB BSB: The clean and unclean animals, the birds, and everything that crawls along the ground
9 GLT went two{ by} two to Noah into the ark, male and female, just as God had commanded Noah. BSB BSB: came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 GLT And it happened, after the seven days, then the waters of the flood came on the earth. BSB BSB: And after seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth.
11 GLT In the six hundredth year of Noah’ s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the windows of the heavens were opened, BSB BSB: In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
12 GLT so that the rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights. BSB BSB: And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.
13 GLT On that same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and the wife of Noah and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ark, BSB BSB: On that very day Noah entered the ark, along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and his wife, and the three wives of his sons—
14 GLT they and every living thing according to its kind, and every livestock according to its kind, and every moving creature moving on the earth according to its kind, and every bird according to its kind, every bird of every wing. BSB BSB: they and every kind of wild animal, livestock, crawling creature, bird, and winged creature.
15 GLT So they went to Noah into the ark, two{ by} two from all flesh which{ has} in it the breath of life. BSB BSB: They came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two of every creature with the breath of life.
16 GLT And those that went in{ were} male and female from all flesh; they went in just as God had commanded him. Then Yahweh shut him in. BSB BSB: And they entered, the male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
17 GLT Then the flood came on the earth{ for} forty days, and the waters increased and lifted the ark so that it rose up off the earth. BSB BSB: For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and the waters rose and lifted the ark high above the earth.
18 GLT And the waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark went on the surface of the waters. BSB BSB: So the waters continued to surge and rise greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.
19 GLT And the waters rose very greatly on the earth, so that all the high mountains that{ were} under the entire heavens were covered. BSB BSB: Finally, the waters completely prevailed upon the earth, so that all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.
20 GLT The waters rose fifteen cubits above{ them}, so that the mountains were covered. BSB BSB: The waters rose and covered the mountaintops to a depth of fifteen cubits.
21 GLT Then all flesh that moved on the earth expired, including the birds and the livestock and the living things and all the swarming things swarming on the earth, and all mankind. BSB BSB: And every living thing that moved upon the earth perished—birds, livestock, animals, every creature that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind.
22 GLT Everything that{ had} the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils, everything that{ lived} on dry land, died. BSB BSB: Of all that was on dry land, everything that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
23 GLT So he wiped away every living thing that{ was} on the surface of the ground, including mankind and livestock and crawling creatures and also the birds of the sky. So they were wiped off the earth, and only Noah was left and{ those} who{ were} with him in the ark. 7:24-8:19 BSB BSB: And every living thing on the face of the earth was destroyed—man and livestock, crawling creatures and birds of the air; they were blotted out from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the ark remained.
24 GLT And the waters prevailed over the earth{ for} 150 days. BSB BSB: And the waters prevailed upon the earth for 150 days.
