1И помолился Иона Яхве, Богу своему, из живота рыбы.From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the LORD his God,

2и сказал:“Я обратился к Яхве, крича в скорби моей, И Он ответил мне изнутри преисподней. Я закричал, и Ты услышал мой голос.saying: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I called for help, and You heard my voice.

3Ты бросил меня в глубину, в сердце моря, и потоки окружили меня. Все волны Твои и источники Твои проходили надо мной.For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current swirled about me; all Your breakers and waves swept over me.

4Я сказал:" Я изгнан от Твоих глаз, однако я опять взгляну на Храм святости Твоей".At this, I said, ‘I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look once more toward Your holy temple.’

5Охватили меня воды до души, бездна окружила меня, тростником обвита моя голова.The waters engulfed me to take my life; the watery depths closed around me; the seaweed wrapped around my head.

6Я спустился до основания гор, земля своими затворами навсегда загородила меня, но Ты, Яхве, мой Бог, поднимешь мою жизнь из ямы.To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me barred me in forever! But You raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!

7Когда моя душа ослабела во мне, я вспомнил о Яхве, и моя молитва дошла к Тебе, к Храму святости Твоей.As my life was fading away, I remembered the LORD. My prayer went up to You, to Your holy temple.

8Поклоняющиеся лживым пустотам оставили верность свою,Those who cling to worthless idols forsake His loving devotion.

9а я принесу Тебе жертву словами благодарности. Что обещал, исполню. У Яхве спасение!”But I, with the voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. I will fulfill what I have vowed. Salvation is from the LORD!”

10И сказал Яхве рыбе, и она выплюнула Иону на сушу.And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
