GLT And Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
GLT “When a human has on the skin of his body a swelling or scab or a bright spot, and it becomes an infection of skin disease on the skin of his body, then he must be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons, the priests. BSB BSB: “When someone has a swelling or rash or bright spot on his skin that may be an infectious skin disease, he must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons who is a priest.
GLT And the priest will look at the infection on the skin of the body. If the hair in the infection has turned white, and if the disease appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is an infection of skin disease. And the priest will look at him and will pronounce him unclean. BSB BSB: The priest is to examine the infection on his skin, and if the hair in the infection has turned white and the sore appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a skin disease. After the priest examines him, he must pronounce him unclean.
GLT And if the bright spot is white, it is on the skin of his body, and the appearance of it is not deeper than the skin, and its hair has not turned white, then the priest must isolate the infected person for seven days. BSB BSB: If, however, the spot on his skin is white and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest shall isolate the infected person for seven days.
GLT And the priest must look at him on the seventh day, and if the skin disease has stayed unchanged in his eyes and the skin disease has not spread on the skin, then the priest must isolate him for seven days again. BSB BSB: On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine him, and if he sees that the infection is unchanged and has not spread on the skin, the priest must isolate him for another seven days.
GLT And the priest will look at him again on the seventh day, and if the infection has faded and the infection has not spread on the skin, then the priest will pronounce him clean. It is a rash, and he must wash his clothes, and then he will be clean. BSB BSB: The priest will examine him again on the seventh day, and if the sore has faded and has not spread on the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean; it is a rash. The person must wash his clothes and be clean.
GLT And if the rash has spread further on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, then he must show himself again to the priest. BSB BSB: But if the rash spreads further on his skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he must present himself again to the priest.
GLT And the priest will look, and if the rash has spread on the skin, then the priest must pronounce him unclean. It is a skin disease. BSB BSB: The priest will reexamine him, and if the rash has spread on the skin, the priest must pronounce him unclean; it is a skin disease.
GLT When an infection of skin disease is on a person, then he must be brought to the priest. BSB BSB: When anyone develops a skin disease, he must be brought to the priest.
GLT And the priest will look and if a white swelling is on the skin and it has turned the hair white, and there is new raw flesh in the swelling, BSB BSB: The priest will examine him, and if there is a white swelling on the skin that has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling,
GLT it is a chronic skin disease on the skin of his body, and the priest must pronounce him unclean. He will not isolate him, because he is unclean. BSB BSB: it is a chronic skin disease and the priest must pronounce him unclean. He need not isolate him, for he is unclean.
GLT And if the skin disease breaks out further on the skin and the skin disease covers all the skin of the infected person from his head to his feet, as far as the appearance in the eyes of the priest, BSB BSB: But if the skin disease breaks out all over his skin so that it covers all the skin of the infected person from head to foot, as far as the priest can see,
GLT then the priest must look, and if the skin disease has covered all his body, then he must pronounce the infected person clean. All of it has turned white. He is clean. BSB BSB: the priest shall examine him, and if the disease has covered his entire body, he is to pronounce the infected person clean. Since it has all turned white, he is clean.
GLT And when raw flesh appears on him, he will be unclean. BSB BSB: But whenever raw flesh appears on someone, he will be unclean.
GLT And the priest must look at the raw flesh and pronounce him unclean. The raw flesh— it is unclean. It is a skin disease. BSB BSB: When the priest sees the raw flesh, he must pronounce him unclean. The raw flesh is unclean; it is a skin disease.
GLT Or if the raw flesh returns and changes to white, then he must go to the priest. BSB BSB: But if the raw flesh changes and turns white, he must go to the priest.
GLT And the priest will look at him and if the infection has turned white, then the priest will pronounce the infected person clean. He is clean. BSB BSB: The priest will reexamine him, and if the infection has turned white, the priest is to pronounce the infected person clean; then he is clean.
GLT When a body has a boil on it, on its skin, and it has healed, BSB BSB: When a boil appears on someone’s skin and it heals,
GLT and in place of the boil there is white swelling or a bright spot, reddish- white, then it must be shown to the priest. BSB BSB: and a white swelling or a reddish-white spot develops where the boil was, he must present himself to the priest.
GLT And the priest will look and if it appears deeper under the skin, and its hair has turned white, then the priest must pronounce him unclean. It is an infection of skin disease. It has broken out in the boil. BSB BSB: The priest shall examine it, and if it appears to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased infection that has broken out in the boil.
GLT And if the priest looks at it, and behold, there is no white hair on it, and it is not deeper than the skin, and it has faded, then the priest must isolate him for seven days. BSB BSB: But when the priest examines it, if there is no white hair in it, and it is not beneath the skin and has faded, the priest shall isolate him for seven days.
GLT And if it spreads further on the skin, then the priest must pronounce him unclean. It is an infection. BSB BSB: If it spreads any further on the skin, the priest must pronounce him unclean; it is an infection.
GLT And if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread, then it is the scar of the boil. And the priest must pronounce him clean. BSB BSB: But if the spot remains unchanged and does not spread, it is only the scar from the boil, and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
GLT Or when the body has a burn from fire on its skin and the raw flesh of the burn has become a reddish- white or white spot, BSB BSB: When there is a burn on someone’s skin and the raw area of the burn becomes reddish-white or white,
GLT then the priest will look at it. And if the hair has turned white in that spot, and it appears to be deeper than the skin, then it is a skin disease that has broken out in the burn. And the priest must pronounce him unclean. It is an infection of skin disease. BSB BSB: the priest must examine it. If the hair in the spot has turned white and the spot appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest must pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased infection.
GLT And if the priest looks at it and if there is no white hair in the spot, and it is not deeper than the skin but it has faded, then the priest must isolate him for seven days. BSB BSB: But if the priest examines it and there is no white hair in the spot, and it is not beneath the skin but has faded, the priest shall isolate him for seven days.
GLT And the priest must look at him on the seventh day. If it has spread further in the skin, then the priest must pronounce him unclean. It is an infection of skin disease. BSB BSB: On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine him, and if it has spread further on the skin, the priest must pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased infection.
GLT And if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread in the skin but it has faded, then it is the swelling of the burn. And the priest must pronounce him clean, for it is the scar of the burn. BSB BSB: But if the spot is unchanged and has not spread on the skin but has faded, it is a swelling from the burn, and the priest is to pronounce him clean; for it is only the scar from the burn.
GLT And if a man or woman has an infection on him, on the head or in the beard, BSB BSB: If a man or woman has an infection on the head or chin,
GLT then the priest must look at the infected person. And if it appears to be deeper than the skin, and on it is yellow, thin hair, then the priest must pronounce him unclean. It is an itch. It is a skin disease of the head or the beard. BSB BSB: the priest shall examine the infection, and if it appears to be deeper than the skin and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest must pronounce him unclean; it is a scaly outbreak, an infectious disease of the head or chin.
GLT And if the priest looks at the itching infection and if it does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest will isolate the person with the itching infection for seven days. BSB BSB: But if the priest examines the scaly infection and it does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, the priest shall isolate the infected person for seven days.
GLT And the priest will look at the infection on the seventh day. And if the itch has not spread and there is no yellow hair on it, and there is no apperance of the itch deeper than the skin, BSB BSB: On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine the infection, and if the scaly outbreak has not spread and there is no yellow hair in it, and it does not appear to be deeper than the skin,
GLT then he shave himself, but the itchy area must not be shaved. And the priest must isolate the itching person for seven days again. BSB BSB: then the person must shave himself except for the scaly area. Then the priest shall isolate him for another seven days.
GLT And the priest will look at the itch on the seventh day. And if the itch has not spread on the skin and it appears to not be deeper than the skin, then the priest must pronounce him clean. And he must wash his clothes, and he will be clean. BSB BSB: On the seventh day the priest shall examine the scaly outbreak, and if it has not spread on the skin and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, the priest is to pronounce him clean. He must wash his clothes, and he will be clean.
GLT And if the itch has spread further in the skin after he pronounced him clean, BSB BSB: If, however, the scaly outbreak spreads further on the skin after his cleansing,
GLT then the priest must look at him. And if the itch has spread on the skin, the priest does not need to seek for yellow hair. He is unclean. BSB BSB: the priest is to examine him, and if the scaly outbreak has spread on the skin, the priest need not look for yellow hair; the person is unclean.
GLT And if in his eyes the itch has stayed unchanged and black hair has grown in it, the itch has healed. He is clean, and the priest will pronounce him clean. BSB BSB: If, however, in his sight the scaly outbreak is unchanged and black hair has grown in it, then it has healed. He is clean, and the priest is to pronounce him clean.
GLT And if a man or a woman has on the skin of their body bright spots, white bright spots, BSB BSB: When a man or a woman has white spots on the skin,
GLT then the priest must look. And if the bright spots on the skin of their body are a dull white, it is a rash that has broken out on the skin. He is clean. BSB BSB: the priest shall examine them, and if the spots are dull white, it is a harmless rash that has broken out on the skin; the person is clean.
GLT And if a man loses the hair of his head, he is bald. He is clean. BSB BSB: Now if a man loses his hair and is bald, he is still clean.
GLT And if his head becomes bald from the front part of his face, he is bald. He is clean. BSB BSB: Or if his hairline recedes and he is bald on his forehead, he is still clean.
GLT And if there is on the bald spot or on the bald forehead a reddish- white infection, it is a skin disease that has broken out on his bald spot or on his bald forehead. BSB BSB: But if there is a reddish-white sore on the bald head or forehead, it is an infectious disease breaking out on it.
GLT And the priest must look at him. And if the swelling of the infection on his bald spot or on his forehead is reddish- white, like the appearance of the disease of the skin of the body, BSB BSB: The priest is to examine him, and if the swelling of the infection on his bald head or forehead is reddish-white like a skin disease,
GLT then he is a man who has a skin disease. He is unclean. The priest must surely pronounce him unclean because of his infection of his head. BSB BSB: the man is diseased; he is unclean. The priest must pronounce him unclean because of the infection on his head.
GLT As for the one with a skin disease who has the infection on him, his garments must be torn and his head must be unbound, and he must cover over the moustache, and he must call out,‘Unclean, unclean.’ BSB BSB: A diseased person must wear torn clothes and let his hair hang loose, and he must cover his mouth and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’
GLT All the days that the infection is on him he will be unclean. He is unclean. He must live alone, his dwelling must be outside the camp. BSB BSB: As long as he has the infection, he remains unclean. He must live alone in a place outside the camp.
GLT As for the garment, when it has in it the infection of skin disease, in a garment of wool or in a garment of linen, BSB BSB: If any fabric is contaminated with mildew—any wool or linen garment,
GLT or in warp or in woof of linen or wool, or in leather or in anything made with leather— BSB BSB: any weave or knit of linen or wool, or any article of leather—
GLT if the infection is greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the leather, or in the warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, then it is an infection of skin disease. And it must be shown to the priest. BSB BSB: and if the mark in the fabric, leather, weave, knit, or leather article is green or red, then it is contaminated with mildew and must be shown to the priest.
GLT And the priest must look at the infection and he must isolate the infected thing for seven days. BSB BSB: And the priest is to examine the mildew and isolate the contaminated fabric for seven days.
GLT And he must look at the infection on the seventh day. If the infection has spread in the garment or in the warp or in the woof, or in the leather(whatever the work for which the leather is used), then the infection is a malignant skin disease. It is unclean. BSB BSB: On the seventh day the priest shall reexamine it, and if the mildew has spread in the fabric, weave, knit, or leather, then regardless of how it is used, it is a harmful mildew; the article is unclean.
GLT And he must burn the garment, or the warp or the woof, in wool or in linen, or any article of leather, whatever has in it the infection, for it is a malignant skin disease. In the fire it must be burned up. BSB BSB: He is to burn the fabric, weave, or knit, whether the contaminated item is wool or linen or leather. Since the mildew is harmful, the article must be burned up.
GLT And if the priest looks, and behold, the infection has not spread in the garment or in the warp, or in the woof, or in any article of leather, BSB BSB: But when the priest reexamines it, if the mildew has not spread in the fabric, weave, knit, or leather article,
GLT then the priest will command and they will wash that in which was the infection. And he must isolate it for seven days again. BSB BSB: the priest is to order the contaminated article to be washed and isolated for another seven days.
GLT And the priest will look at the infection after being washed. And if the infection has not changed its appearance, and the infection has not spread, it is unclean. In the fire you must burn it. It is an eaten away hole in its back or in its front. BSB BSB: After it has been washed, the priest is to reexamine it, and if the mildewed article has not changed in appearance, it is unclean. Even though the mildew has not spread, you must burn it, whether the rot is on the front or back.
GLT And if the priest looks, and behold, the infection has faded after it was washed, then he must tear it out from the garment or from the leather, or from the warp or from the woof. BSB BSB: If the priest examines it and the mildew has faded after it has been washed, he must cut the contaminated section out of the fabric, leather, weave, or knit.
GLT And if it still appears in the garment, either in the warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, it is spreading. In the fire you must burn it, the thing in which is the infection. BSB BSB: But if it reappears in the fabric, weave, or knit, or on any leather article, it is spreading. You must burn the contaminated article.
GLT As for the garment or the warp or the woof, or any article of leather that you washed and the infection was removed from them, it must be washed a second time, and it will be clean. BSB BSB: If the mildew disappears from the fabric, weave, or knit, or any leather article after washing, then it is to be washed again, and it will be clean.
GLT This is the law of the infection of skin disease of the garment of wool or linen, or the warp or the woof, or any article of leather, for pronouncing it clean or for pronouncing it unclean.” BSB BSB: This is the law concerning a mildew contamination in wool or linen fabric, weave, or knit, or any leather article, for pronouncing it clean or unclean.”
