1И было: когда была построена стена, и я вставил двери, и были назначены сторожа ворот, и певцы, и левиты,When the wall had been rebuilt and I had set the doors in place, the gatekeepers, singers, and Levites were appointed.

2то я поставил Ханани, моего брата, и Хананию, начальника крепости, над Иерусалимом, потому что он был человеком верным и боялся Бога больше многих.Then I put my brother Hanani in charge of Jerusalem, along with Hananiah the commander of the fortress, because he was a faithful man who feared God more than most.

3И я сказал им:" Пусть не открывают ворота Иерусалима до жары солнца и пока они стоят, пусть закрывают двери и запирайте их. И поставил я сторожами жителей Иерусалима, каждого на свой пост и каждого напротив его дома.And I told them, “Do not open the gates of Jerusalem until the sun is hot. While the guards are on duty, keep the doors shut and securely fastened. And appoint the residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some at their own homes.”

4И город был просторный и большой, а народа в нём мало, и дома не были построены.Now the city was large and spacious, but there were few people in it, and the houses had not yet been rebuilt.

5И положил мой Бог в моё сердце, и собрал я знатных, и начальников, и народ, чтобы записать родословную. И нашёл я книгу родословной пришедших сначала, и нашёл написанное в ней:Then my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials, and the people to be enrolled by genealogy. I found the genealogical register of those who had first returned, and I found the following written in it:

6Вот сыновья области, пришедшие из плена, переселенцы, которых переселил Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, и они вернулись в Иерусалим и в Иудею, каждый в свой город,These are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles carried away to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar its king. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town,

7пришедшие с Зоровавелем, Иисусом, Неемией, Азарией, Раамией, Нахманием, Мардохеем, Билшаном, Мисферефом, Бигваем, Нехумом, Вааной. Число мужчин народа Израиля.accompanied by Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. This is the count of the men of Israel:

9Сыновей Сафатии триста семьдесят два.the descendants of Shephatiah, 372;

10Сыновей Араха шестьсот пятьдесят два.the descendants of Arah, 652;

11Сыновей Пахаф- Моава из сыновей Иисуса и Иоава две тысячи восемьсот восемнадцать.the descendants of Pahath-moab (through the line of Jeshua and Joab), 2,818;

13Сыновей Заффу восемьсот сорок пять.the descendants of Zattu, 845;

35Сыновей Харима триста двадцать.the descendants of Harim, 320;

36Сыновей Иерихона триста сорок пять.the men of Jericho, 345;

37Сыновей Лода, Хадида и Оно семьсот двадцать один.the men of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, 721;

39Священников, сыновей Иедаии из дома Иисуса, девятьсот семьдесят три.The priests: the descendants of Jedaiah (through the house of Jeshua), 973;

40Сыновей Иммера тысяча пятьдесят два.the descendants of Immer, 1,052;

41Сыновей Пашхура тысяча двести сорок семь.the descendants of Pashhur, 1,247;

42Сыновей Харима тысяча семнадцать.and the descendants of Harim, 1,017.

43Левитов, сыновей Иисуса у Кадмиила из сыновей Годевы, семьдесят четыре.The Levites: the descendants of Jeshua (through Kadmiel, through the line of Hodevah), 74.

44Певцов, сыновей Асафа, сто сорок восемь.The singers: the descendants of Asaph, 148.

45Сторожей ворот, сыновей Шаллума, сыновей Атера, сыновей Талмона, сыновей Аккува, сыновей Хатиты, сыновей Шовая, сто тридцать восемь.The gatekeepers: the descendants of Shallum, the descendants of Ater, the descendants of Talmon, the descendants of Akkub, the descendants of Hatita, and the descendants of Shobai, 138 in all.

46Нефинеи: сыновья Цихи, сыновья Хасуфы, сыновья Таббаофа,The temple servants: the descendants of Ziha, the descendants of Hasupha, the descendants of Tabbaoth,

47сыновья Кироса, сыновья Сии, сыновья Фадона,the descendants of Keros, the descendants of Sia, the descendants of Padon,

48сыновья Леваны, сыновья Хагавы, сыновья Салмая,the descendants of Lebanah, the descendants of Hagabah, the descendants of Shalmai,

58сыновья Иаалы, сыновья Даркона, сыновья Гиддела,the descendants of Jaala, the descendants of Darkon, the descendants of Giddel,

59сыновья Сафатии, сыновья Хаттила, сыновья Похереф- Гаццевайима, сыновья Амона.the descendants of Shephatiah, the descendants of Hattil, the descendants of Pochereth-hazzebaim, and the descendants of Amon.

60Всех нефинеев и сыновей рабов Соломона триста девяносто два.The temple servants and descendants of the servants of Solomon numbered 392 in all.

61И вот вышедшие из Тел- Мелаха, Тел- Харши, Херув- Аддона и Иммера, и не могли они рассказать о доме своих отцов и своём семени, от Израиля ли они.The following came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not prove that their families were descended from Israel:

62Сыновей Делаии, сыновей Товии, сыновей Некоды— шестьсот сорок два.the descendants of Delaiah, the descendants of Tobiah, and the descendants of Nekoda, 642 in all.

63И из священников: сыновья Ховаии, сыновья Гаккоца, сыновья Верзеллия, который взял жену из дочерей Верзеллия Галаадянина и стал называться их именем.And from among the priests: the descendants of Hobaiah, the descendants of Hakkoz, and the descendants of Barzillai (who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name).

64Они искали свою запись, родословную, и не нашли, и были исключены из священства.These men searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

65И сказал им Тиршафа, чтобы не ели от святыни святынь, пока не встанет священник с уримом и туммимом.The governor ordered them not to eat the most holy things until there was a priest to consult the Urim and Thummim.

66Всё общество вместе— сорок две тысячи триста шестьдесят,The whole assembly numbered 42,360,

67кроме их рабов и их рабынь— их семь тысяч триста тридцать семь, и у них двести сорок пять певцов и певиц.in addition to their 7,337 menservants and maidservants, as well as their 245 male and female singers.

68Их коней— семьсот тридцать шесть. Их лошаков— двести сорок пять.They had 736 horses, 245 mules,

69Верблюдов— четыреста тридцать пять. Ослов— шесть тысяч семьсот двадцать.435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.

70И некоторые главы семейств дали на это дело. Тиршафа дал в сокровищницу золотом тысячу драхм, пятьдесят чаш, пятьсот тридцать одежд священников.Some of the heads of the families contributed to the project. The governor gave to the treasury 1,000 darics of gold, 50 bowls, and 530 priestly garments.

71А некоторые из глав семейств дали в сокровищницу на это дело золота двадцать тысяч драхм и серебра две тысячи двести мин.And some of the heads of the families gave to the treasury for the project 20,000 darics of gold and 2,200 minas of silver.

72А то, что дали остальные из народа,— золота двадцать тысяч драхм, и серебра две тысячи мин, и шестьдесят семь одежд священников.The rest of the people gave a total of 20,000 darics of gold, 2,000 minas of silver, and 67 priestly garments.

73И жили священники, и левиты, и сторожа ворот, и певцы, и некоторые из народа, и нефинеи, и весь Израиль в своих городах. И наступил седьмой месяц, и сыновья Израиля были в своих городах,So the priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, and temple servants, along with some of the people and the rest of the Israelites, settled in their own towns. And by the seventh month the Israelites had settled in their towns.
