1 GLT And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses on account of the Cushite wife that he had taken, because he had taken a Cushite wife. BSB BSB: Then Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because of the Cushite woman he had married, for he had taken a Cushite wife.
2 GLT And they said,“Has Yahweh really only spoken with Moses? Has he not spoken also with us?” And Yahweh heard. BSB BSB: “Does the LORD speak only through Moses?” they said. “Does He not also speak through us?” And the LORD heard this.
3 GLT (And the man Moses was exceedingly humble, more than every human who was on the face of the ground.) BSB BSB: Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.
4 GLT And Yahweh said immediately to Moses and to Aaron and to Miriam,“The three of you go out to the tent of meeting,” and the three of them went out. BSB BSB: And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,
5 GLT And Yahweh came down in a column of cloud, and he stood at the opening of the tent, and he called Aaron and Miriam and the two of them went out. BSB BSB: and the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them had stepped forward,
6 GLT And he said,“Hear now my words! If one is your prophet, I, Yahweh will make myself known to him in the vision. I will speak with him in the dream. BSB BSB: He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will reveal Myself to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a dream.
7 GLT Not so my servant Moses; he is trustworthy in all my house. BSB BSB: But this is not so with My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house.
8 GLT I speak with him mouth to mouth, and with appearance, and not with riddles; and he looks at the form of Yahweh. And why are you not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses?” BSB BSB: I speak with him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you unafraid to speak against My servant Moses?”
9 GLT And the nose of Yahweh burned against them and he went, BSB BSB: So the anger of the LORD burned against them, and He departed.
10 GLT and the cloud departed from over the tent. And behold, Miriam was with a skin disease, like the snow, and Aaron turned to Miriam, and behold, she was with a skin disease, BSB BSB: As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly Miriam became leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was leprous,
11 GLT and Aaron said to Moses,“Please, my master, please do not put upon us sin which we did foolishly and which we sinned. BSB BSB: and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not hold against us this sin we have so foolishly committed.
12 GLT Please do not let her be like the dead one who, when he comes out from the womb of his mother, then half of his flesh is eaten.” BSB BSB: Please do not let her be like a stillborn infant whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”
13 GLT And Moses cried out to Yahweh, saying,“God, please, please heal her!” BSB BSB: So Moses cried out to the LORD, “O God, please heal her!”
14 GLT And Yahweh said to Moses,“If her father surely spit in her face, would she not be humiliated seven days? She shall be shut up seven days from outside of the camp, and afterward she may be brought in.” BSB BSB: But the LORD answered Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Let her be confined outside the camp for seven days; after that she may be brought back in.”
15 GLT And Miriam was shut up from outside of the camp seven days, and the people did not set out until the bringing in of Miriam. BSB BSB: So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until she was brought in again.
16 GLT And after, the people set out from Hazeroth, and they camped in the wilderness of Paran. BSB BSB: After that, the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.
