1 GLT In you, Yahweh, I take refuge; never let me be humiliated. Rescue me in your righteousness. BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; save me by Your righteousness.
2 GLT Listen to me; rescue me quickly; be my rock of refuge, a stronghold to save me. BSB BSB: Incline Your ear to me; come quickly to my rescue. Be my rock of refuge, the stronghold of my deliverance.
3 GLT For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name’ s sake, lead and guide me. BSB BSB: For You are my rock and my fortress; lead me and guide me for the sake of Your name.
4 GLT Pluck me out of the net that they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge. BSB BSB: You free me from the net laid out for me, for You are my refuge.
5 GLT Into your hands I entrust my spirit; you will redeem me, Yahweh, God of trustworthiness. BSB BSB: Into Your hands I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD, God of truth.
6 GLT I hate those who serve worthless idols, but I trust in Yahweh. BSB BSB: I hate those who cling to worthless idols, but in the LORD I trust.
7 GLT I will be glad and rejoice in your covenant faithfulness, for you saw my affliction; you knew the distress of my soul. BSB BSB: I will be glad and rejoice in Your loving devotion, for You have seen my affliction; You have known the anguish of my soul.
8 GLT You have not given me into the hand of my enemy. You have set my feet in a wide open place. BSB BSB: You have not delivered me to the enemy; You have set my feet in the open.
9 GLT Have mercy upon me, Yahweh, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weary with grief with my soul and my body. BSB BSB: Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes fail from sorrow, my soul and body as well.
10 GLT For my life is weary with sorrow and my years with groaning. My strength fails because of my sin, and my bones are wasting away. BSB BSB: For my life is consumed with grief and my years with groaning; my iniquity has drained my strength, and my bones are wasting away.
11 GLT Because of all my enemies, people disdain me; my neighbors are appalled at my situation, and those who know me are horrified. Those who see me in the street run from me. BSB BSB: Among all my enemies I am a disgrace, and among my neighbors even more. I am dreaded by my friends—they flee when they see me on the street.
12 GLT I am forgotten as a dead man whom no one thinks about. I am like a broken pot. BSB BSB: I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind. I am like a broken vessel.
13 GLT For I have heard the whispering of many, terrifying news from every side as they plot together against me. They plot to take away my life. BSB BSB: For I hear the slander of many; there is terror on every side. They conspire against me and plot to take my life.
14 GLT But I trust in you, Yahweh; I say,“You are my God.” BSB BSB: But I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.”
15 GLT My times are in your hand. Rescue me from the hands of my enemies and from those who pursue me. BSB BSB: My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
16 GLT Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your covenant faithfulness. BSB BSB: Make Your face shine on Your servant; save me by Your loving devotion.
17 GLT Do not let me be humiliated, Yahweh; for I call out to you! May the wicked be humiliated! May they be silent in Sheol. BSB BSB: O LORD, let me not be ashamed, for I have called on You. Let the wicked be put to shame; let them lie silent in Sheol.
18 GLT May lying lips be silenced that speak against the righteous defiantly with arrogance and contempt. BSB BSB: May lying lips be silenced—lips that speak with arrogance against the righteous, full of pride and contempt.
19 GLT How great is your goodness that you have stored up for those who revere you, that you perform for those who take refuge in you before all the children of mankind! BSB BSB: How great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have bestowed before the sons of men on those who take refuge in You!
20 GLT In the shelter of your presence, you hide them from the plots of men. You hide them in a shelter from the violence of tongues. BSB BSB: You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the schemes of men. You conceal them in Your shelter from accusing tongues.
21 GLT Blessed be Yahweh, for he showed me his marvelous covenant faithfulness when I was in a besieged city. BSB BSB: Blessed be the LORD, for He has shown me His loving devotion in a city under siege.
22 GLT Though I said in my haste,“I am cut off from your eyes,” yet you heard my plea for help when I cried to you. BSB BSB: In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from Your sight!” But You heard my plea for mercy when I called to You for help.
23 GLT Love Yahweh, all you faithful ones. Yahweh protects the faithful, but he pays back the arrogant in full. BSB BSB: Love the LORD, all His saints. The LORD preserves the faithful, but fully repays the arrogant.
24 GLT Be strong and confident, all you who trust in Yahweh for help. BSB BSB: Be strong and courageous, all you who hope in the LORD.
