1 GLT And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder,“Come!” BSB BSB: Then I watched as the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”
2 GLT And I looked and behold, a white horse, and the one sitting on it having a bow! And a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and that he might conquer. BSB BSB: So I looked and saw a white horse, and its rider held a bow. And he was given a crown, and he rode out to overcome and conquer.
3 GLT And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying,“Come!” BSB BSB: And when the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
4 GLT And another horse, fiery red, came out! And to the one sitting on it, it was granted to him to take peace from the earth, and so that they will slaughter one another, and a great sword was given to him. BSB BSB: Then another horse went forth. It was bright red, and its rider was granted permission to take away peace from the earth and to make men slay one another. And he was given a great sword.
5 GLT And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying,“Come!” And I looked and behold, a black horse, and the one sitting on it having a balance in his hand. BSB BSB: And when the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” Then I looked and saw a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales.
6 GLT And I heard{ something} like a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying,“A choenix of wheat for a denarius and three choenices of barley for a denarius, but do not harm the oil and the wine.” BSB BSB: And I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine.”
7 GLT And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying,“Come!” BSB BSB: And when the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
8 GLT And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And the one sitting on it was named Death, and Hades was following after him. And authority was given to them over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and with famine and with death and by the wild animals of the earth. BSB BSB: Then I looked and saw a pale green horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth.
9 GLT And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of the ones having been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony that they were having. BSB BSB: And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld.
10 GLT And they cried out in a loud voice, saying,“Until when, holy and true Ruler, do you not judge and avenge our blood from the ones living on the earth?” BSB BSB: And they cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge those who dwell upon the earth and avenge our blood?”
11 GLT And a white robe was given to each of them, and it was said to them that they should wait yet a little time until should be completed both their fellow servants and their brothers{ who} were going to be killed as they also{ were}. BSB BSB: Then each of them was given a white robe and told to rest a little while longer until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers, were killed, just as they had been killed.
12 GLT And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake happened, and the sun became black, like sackcloth{ made} of hair, and the full moon became like blood, BSB BSB: And I watched as the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black like sackcloth of goat hair, and the whole moon turned blood red,
13 GLT and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its unseasonable fruit, being shaken by a great wind. BSB BSB: and the stars of the sky fell to the earth like unripe figs dropping from a tree shaken by a great wind.
14 GLT And the sky was split like a scroll being rolled up, and all the mountains and islands were removed from their places. BSB BSB: The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.
15 GLT And the kings of the earth and the magnates and the chiliarchs and the rich and the powerful and every slave and free{ person} hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, BSB BSB: Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
16 GLT and they say to the mountains and to the rocks,“Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one sitting on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, BSB BSB: And they said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.
17 GLT because the great day of their anger has come, and who is able to stand?” BSB BSB: For the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”
