1 GLT Then Yahweh showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of Yahweh and Satan was standing at his right to accuse him. BSB BSB: Then the angel showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
2 GLT Then Yahweh said to Satan,“May Yahweh rebuke you, Satan; may Yahweh, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you!{ Is} this not a poker pulled from the fire?” BSB BSB: And the LORD said to Satan: “The LORD rebukes you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you! Is not this man a firebrand snatched from the fire?”
3 GLT Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. BSB BSB: Now Joshua was dressed in filthy garments as he stood before the angel.
4 GLT Then he spoke and said to those who stood before him, saying,“Remove the filthy clothes from upon him.” Then he said to Joshua,“Look! I have caused your iniquity to pass from you and I will dress you in fine clothing.” BSB BSB: So the angel said to those standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes!” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have removed your iniquity, and I will clothe you with splendid robes.”
5 GLT Then I said,“Let them put a clean turban on his head!” So they set a clean turban on Joshua’ s head and clothed him with clothes, while the angel of Yahweh was standing by. BSB BSB: Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So a clean turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him, as the angel of the LORD stood by.
6 GLT Next the angel of Yahweh said to Joshua, BSB BSB: Then the angel of the LORD gave this charge to Joshua:
7 GLT “Yahweh of hosts says this: If you will walk in my ways, and if you will keep my commandments, then you will govern my house and guard my courts, for I will allow you to walk among these who stand here. BSB BSB: “This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘If you walk in My ways and keep My instructions, then you will govern My house and will also have charge of My courts; and I will give you a place among these who are standing here.
8 GLT Please Listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your companions who live with you! For these men{ are} a sign, for I myself will bring up my servant the Branch. BSB BSB: Hear now, O high priest Joshua, you and your companions seated before you, who are indeed a sign. For behold, I am going to bring My servant, the Branch.
9 GLT Now look at the stone that I have set before Joshua. There are seven eyes on this single stone, and I will engrave an inscription— this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts— and I will remove the sin from this land in one day. BSB BSB: See the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave on it an inscription, declares the LORD of Hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.
10 GLT In that day— this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts— each man will invite his neighbor to sit under his vine and under his fig tree.” BSB BSB: On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, you will each invite your neighbor to sit under your own vine and fig tree.’”
