3главный Ахиезер, за ним Иоас— сыновья Шемаи из Гивы. Иезиел и Фелет, сыновья Азмавефа. Бераха и Иегу из Анафофа.Ahiezer their chief and Joash, who were the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; Jeziel and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; Beracah; Jehu the Anathothite;

4Ишмаия, гаваонитянин, самый храбрый из тридцати и начальствовавший над тридцатью. Иеремия, Иахазиил, Иоханан и Иозавад из Гедеры.Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the Thirty and a leader over the Thirty; Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite;

5Елузай, Иеримоф, Веалия, Шемария, харифиянин Сафатия.Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite;

6Елкана, Ишшияху, Азариил, Иоезер и Иошавам— кореяне.Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, who were Korahites;

7Иоела и Зевадия из Гедора, сыновья Иерохама.and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham from Gedor.

8И из гадитян к Давиду в укрепление, в пустыню, перешли мужественные люди, воинственные, вооружённые щитами и копьями. У них были лица как у львов, и они были быстры, как серны на горах.Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the wilderness. They were mighty men of valor, trained for battle, experts with the shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions and who were as swift as gazelles on the mountains:

10четвёртый— Мишманна, пятый— Иеремия,Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

11шестой— Афай, седьмой— Елиел,Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

12восьмой— Иоханан, девятый— Елзавад,Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

13десятый— Иеремия, одиннадцатый— Махбанай.Jeremiah the tenth, and Machbanai the eleventh.

14Среди сыновей Гада они были главами в войске: меньший над сотней и больший над тысячей.These Gadites were army commanders, the least of whom was a match for a hundred, and the greatest for a thousand.

15Это они перешли Иордан в первый месяц, когда он выступает из своих берегов, и разогнали всех живших в долинах к востоку и западу.These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month when it was overflowing all its banks, and they put to flight all those in the valleys, both to the east and to the west.

16К Давиду в укрепление пришли также и из сыновей Вениамина и Иуды.Other Benjamites and some men from Judah also came to David in his stronghold.

17Давид вышел им навстречу и сказал: «Если вы с миром пришли ко мне, чтобы помогать мне, то пусть будет у меня с вами одно сердце, а если для того, чтобы меня коварно предать моим врагам, то поскольку нет жестокости на моих руках, пусть Бог наших отцов увидит и рассудит».And David went out to meet them, saying, “If you have come to me in peace to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my enemies when my hands are free of violence, may the God of our fathers see it and judge you.”

18Дух объял Амасая, главу тридцати, и он сказал: «Мир с тобой, Давид, мир с тобой, сын Иессея. Мир тебе и мир твоим помощникам, потому что тебе помогает твой Бог». Тогда Давид принял их и поставил во главе войска.Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the chief of the Thirty, and he said: “We are yours, O David! We are with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers, for your God helps you.” So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.

19Некоторые из колена Манассии перешли к Давиду, когда он шёл с филистимлянами на войну против Саула, но не помогал им, потому что предводители филистимлян, посоветовавшись, отослали его и сказали: «На нашу голову перейдёт он к своему господину Саулу».Some from Manasseh defected to David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (They did not help the Philistines because the Philistine rulers consulted and sent David away, saying, “It will cost us our heads if he defects to his master Saul.”)

20Когда он возвращался в Секелаг, перешли к нему из манассиян: Аднах, Иозавад, Иедиаел, Михаил, Иозавад, Елигу и Цилльфай— тысяченачальники у манассиян.When David went to Ziklag, these men of Manasseh defected to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, chiefs of thousands in Manasseh.

21Они помогали Давиду против войск, потому что все были храбрыми людьми и были начальниками в войске.They helped David against the raiders, for they were all mighty men of valor and commanders in the army.

22К Давиду на помощь приходили каждый день, и его войско стало велико, как войско Бога.For at that time men came to David day after day to help him, until he had a great army, like the army of God.

23Вот число главных в войске, которые пришли к Давиду в Хеврон, чтобы передать ему царство Саула по слову Господа.Now these are the numbers of men armed for battle who came to David at Hebron to turn Saul’s kingdom over to him, in accordance with the word of the LORD:

24Сыновей Иуды, носящих щиты и копья, было шесть тысяч восемьсот человек, готовых к войне.From Judah: 6,800 armed troops bearing shields and spears.

25Из сыновей Симеона, храбрых людей, в войске было семь тысяч сто.From Simeon: 7,100 mighty men of valor, ready for battle.

26Из сыновей Левия— четыре тысячи шестьсот.From Levi: 4,600,

27Иоддай, вождь от племени Аарона, и с ним три тысячи семьсот человек.including Jehoiada, leader of the house of Aaron, with 3,700 men,

28Садок, мужественный юноша, и его род— двадцать два начальника.and Zadok, a mighty young man of valor, with 22 commanders from his own family.

29Из сыновей Вениамина, братьев Саула, три тысячи, но многие из них ещё были верны дому Саула.From Benjamin, the kinsmen of Saul: 3,000, most of whom had remained loyal to the house of Saul up to that time.

30Из сыновей Ефрема— двадцать тысяч восемьсот мужественных людей, знаменитых в своих родах.From Ephraim: 20,800 mighty men of valor, famous among their own clans.

31Из половины рода Манассии— восемнадцать тысяч, которые были названы поимённо, чтобы пойти и сделать Давида царём.From the half-tribe of Manasseh: 18,000 designated by name to come and make David king.

32Из сыновей Иссахара пришли разумные люди, которые знали, что и когда надлежало делать Израилю. Их было двести главных, и все их братья следовали их слову.From Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do: 200 chiefs with all their kinsmen at their command.

33Из рода Завулона, готовых к сражению, вооружённых всяким военным оружием— пятьдесят тысяч человек, и они были единодушны в строю.From Zebulun: 50,000 fit for service, trained for battle with all kinds of weapons of war, who with one purpose were devoted to David.

34Из колена Неффалима— тысяча вождей и с ними тридцать семь тысяч со щитами и копьями.From Naphtali: 1,000 commanders, accompanied by 37,000 men with shield and spear.

35Из колена Дана, готовых к войне,— двадцать восемь тысяч шестьсот человек.From Dan: 28,600 prepared for battle.

36От Асира воинов, готовых к сражению,— сорок тысяч.From Asher: 40,000 fit for service, prepared for battle.

37Из-за Иордана, от колена Рувима, Гада и половины колена Манассии— сто двадцать тысяч со всяким воинским оружием.And from east of the Jordan, from Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh there: 120,000 armed with every kind of weapon of war.

38Все эти воины строем, от полного сердца, пришли в Хеврон сделать Давида царём над всем Израилем. Все прочие израильтяне были единодушны, чтобы сделать Давида царём.All these men of war, arrayed for battle, came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. And all the rest of the Israelites were of one mind to make David king.

39Они пробыли там, у Давида, три дня, ели и пили, потому что их братья всё приготовили для них.They spent three days there eating and drinking with David, for their relatives had provided for them.

40И близкие к ним, даже до колен Иссахара, Завулона и Неффалима, привозили всё съедобное на ослах, верблюдах, мулах и волах: муку, инжир, изюм, вино, масло, множество крупного и мелкого скота, так как у Израиля была радость.And their neighbors from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali came bringing food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen—abundant supplies of flour, fig cakes and raisin cakes, wine and oil, oxen and sheep. Indeed, there was joy in Israel.
