1. 1ROBФилистимляне взяли Божий ковчег и принесли его из Авен-Езера в Азот.BSBBSB: After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod,
2. 2ROBФилистимляне взяли и внесли Божий ковчег в храм Дагона. Они поставили его возле Дагона.BSBBSB: carried it into the temple of Dagon, and set it beside his statue.
3. 3ROBНа другой день жители Азота встали рано, и вот, Дагон лежит своим лицом к земле перед ковчегом Господа. Они взяли Дагона и опять поставили его на своё место.BSBBSB: When the people of Ashdod got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.
4. 4ROBУтром на следующий день они встали, и вот, Дагон лежит лицом на земле перед ковчегом Господа. На пороге— голова Дагона и обе его руки лежат отсечённые, каждая отдельно. Осталось только туловище Дагона.BSBBSB: But when they got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD, with his head and his hands broken off and lying on the threshold. Only the torso remained.
5. 5ROBПоэтому жрецы Дагона и все, кто приходит в храм Дагона в Азоте, не наступают на порог Дагона до наших дней.BSBBSB: That is why, to this day, the priests of Dagon and all who enter the temple of Dagon in Ashdod do not step on the threshold.
6. 6ROBРука Господа отяжелела над жителями Азота, Он поражал их в Азоте и в его окрестностях и наказывал их мучительными наростами.BSBBSB: Now the hand of the LORD was heavy on the people of Ashdod and its vicinity, ravaging them and afflicting them with tumors.
7. 7ROBЖители Азота увидели это и сказали: «Пусть больше не остаётся у нас ковчег Бога Израиля, так как тяжела Его рука и для нас, и для нашего бога Дагона».BSBBSB: And when the men of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not stay here with us, because His hand is heavy upon us and upon our god Dagon.”
8. 8ROBОни послали за всеми филистимскими правителями и, собрав их, сказали: «Что нам делать с ковчегом Бога Израиля?» Те ответили: «Пусть ковчег Бога Израиля перейдёт в Геф».BSBBSB: So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and asked, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” “It must be moved to Gath,” they replied. So they carried away the ark of the God of Israel.
9. 9ROBИ отправили ковчег Бога Израиля в Геф. После того как его отправили, рука Господа была и на том городе, и это был очень сильный ужас. Господь поразил жителей города от малого до большого, и на них появились наросты.BSBBSB: But after they had moved the ark to Gath, the LORD’s hand was also against that city, throwing it into great confusion and afflicting the men of the city, both young and old, with an outbreak of tumors.
10. 10ROBОни отослали Божий ковчег в Аскалон. Когда Божий ковчег прибыл в Аскалон, то его жители подняли вопль: «Принесли к нам ковчег Бога Израиля, чтобы убить нас и наш народ».BSBBSB: So they sent the ark of God to Ekron, but as it arrived, the Ekronites cried out, “They have brought us the ark of the God of Israel in order to kill us and our people!”
11. 11ROBОни послали за всеми филистимскими правителями и, собрав их, сказали: «Отошлите ковчег Бога Израиля. Пусть он вернётся на своё место, пока не погубил нас и наш народ». Потому что смертельный ужас был во всём городе. Божья рука очень отяжелела на них.BSBBSB: Then the Ekronites called together all the rulers of the Philistines and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel. It must return to its place, so that it will not kill us and our people!” For a deadly confusion had pervaded the city; the hand of God was very heavy upon it.
12. 12ROBИ те, которые не умерли, были поражены наростами, так что вопль города поднимался до небес.BSBBSB: Those who did not die were afflicted with tumors, and the outcry of the city went up to heaven.
