1В первый год правления вавилонского царя Валтасара Даниил лежал в постели и видел сон и свои пророческие видения. Тогда он записал этот сон, изложив суть дела.In the first year of the reign of Belshazzar over Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he lay on his bed. He wrote down the dream, and this is the summary of his account.

2В начале своей речи Даниил сказал: «В моём ночном видении я видел, как четыре небесных ветра боролись на великом мореDaniel declared: “In my vision in the night I looked, and suddenly the four winds of heaven were churning up the great sea.

3и четыре больших зверя, не похожих друг на друга, вышли из моря.Then four great beasts came up out of the sea, each one different from the others:

4Первый— как лев, но у него были орлиные крылья. Я смотрел, пока у него не были вырваны крылья, он был поднят над землёй, встал на ноги, как человек, и ему было дано человеческое сердце.The first beast was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man and given the mind of a man.

5Ещё второй зверь, похожий на медведя, стоял с одной стороны, и у него во рту между его зубами было три клыка. Ему было сказано: "Встань, ешь много мяса!"Suddenly another beast appeared, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. So it was told, ‘Get up and gorge yourself on flesh!’

6Потом я видел: вот ещё зверь— как барс. У него на спине четыре птичьих крыла. У этого зверя было четыре головы, и ему была дана власть.Next, as I watched, suddenly another beast appeared. It was like a leopard, and on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.

7После этого в ночных видениях я видел: вот четвёртый зверь, страшный, ужасный и очень сильный. У него большие железные зубы. Он пожирает и уничтожает. А остатки топчет ногами. Он отличался от всех остальных зверей, и у него было десять рогов.After this, as I watched in my vision in the night, suddenly a fourth beast appeared, and it was terrifying—dreadful and extremely strong—with large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed; then it trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had ten horns.

8Когда я смотрел на эти рога, среди них вырос ещё один небольшой рог, а три из прежних рогов были с корнем вырваны перед ним. У этого рога были глаза, как человеческие, и рот, говорящий высокомерно.While I was contemplating the horns, suddenly another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like those of a man and a mouth that spoke words of arrogance.

9Наконец, я увидел, что были поставлены престолы, и сел Древний днями. На Нём была белая, как снег, одежда, и волосы на Его голове— как чистая шерсть. Его престол— как пламя огня, Его колёса— пылающий огонь.As I continued to watch, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

10Огненная река выходила и проходила перед Ним. Ему служили тысячи тысяч, и тьмы тем стояли перед Ним. Судьи сели, и книги раскрылись.A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands attended Him, and myriads upon myriads stood before Him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.

11Потом я видел, что за произнесение высокомерных слов, которые говорил рог, зверь был убит на моих глазах, его тело было сокрушено и отдано на сожжение огнём.Then I kept watching because of the arrogant words the horn was speaking. As I continued to watch, the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire.

12У остальных зверей была отнята их власть, и жизнь им была оставлена только на время и на срок.As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was removed, but they were granted an extension of life for a season and a time.

13В ночных видениях я видел: вот, с небесными облаками шёл как бы человеческий Сын, дошёл до Древнего днями и был подведён к Нему.In my vision in the night I continued to watch, and I saw One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.

14Ему дана власть, слава и царство, чтобы все народы, племена и языки служили Ему. Его господство— господство вечное, которое не прекратится, и Его царство не разрушится.And He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

15Во мне, Данииле, в моём теле затрепетал мой дух, и видения в моей голове смутили меня.I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit, and the visions in my mind alarmed me.

16Я подошёл к одному из стоящих и спросил у него об истинном значении всего этого. Он стал со мной говорить и объяснил мне смысл сказанного:I approached one of those who were standing there, and I asked him the true meaning of all this. So he told me the interpretation of these things:

17"Эти большие звери, которых четыре, означают, что на земле встанут четыре царя.‘These four great beasts are four kings who will arise from the earth.

18Потом святые Всевышнего получат царство и будут владеть им вечно и во веки веков".But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess it forever—yes, forever and ever.’

19Тогда я пожелал точного объяснения о четвёртом звере, который отличался от всех и был очень страшен, с железными зубами и медными когтями, который пожирал и уничтожал, а остатки топтал ногами,Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others—extremely terrifying—devouring and crushing with iron teeth and bronze claws, then trampling underfoot whatever was left.

20и о его десяти рогах, которые были у него на голове, и о другом, который вырос, и перед которым три других выпали,— о том самом роге, у которого были глаза и рот, говорящий высокомерно, и который по виду стал больше других.I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn whose appearance was more imposing than the others, with eyes and with a mouth that spoke words of arrogance.

21Я видел, как этот рог вёл войну со святыми и одолевал их,As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and prevailing against them,

22пока не пришёл Древний днями, и суд был отдан святым Всевышнего, и наступило время святым завладеть царством.until the Ancient of Days arrived and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for them to possess the kingdom.

23Об этом он сказал: "Четвёртый зверь— это четвёртое царство на земле, которое отличается от всех царств, которое будет пожирать всю землю, топтать и разрушать её.This is what he said: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on the earth, different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour the whole earth, trample it down, and crush it.

24А десять рогов значат, что из этого царства поднимутся десять царей, и после них поднимется другой, не похожий на прежних, и уничтожит трёх царей.And the ten horns are ten kings who will rise from this kingdom. After them another king, different from the earlier ones, will rise and subdue three kings.

25Он будет говорить слова против Всевышнего и угнетать святых Всевышнего. Он даже попробует отменить у них праздничные времена и закон, и они будут отданы в его руку на год, два года и полгода.He will speak out against the Most High and oppress the saints of the Most High, intending to change the appointed times and laws; and the saints will be given into his hand for a time, and times, and half a time.

26Затем сядут судьи и отнимут у него власть убивать и уничтожать до конца.But the court will convene, and his dominion will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.

27А царство, власть и царственное величие под всем небом будет отдано народу святых Всевышнего, Чьё царство— царство вечное, и все правители будут служить и повиноваться Ему".Then the sovereignty, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will serve and obey Him.’

28Здесь конец слова. Меня, Даниила, сильно смущали мои размышления, моё лицо изменилось, но я сохранил слово в моём сердце.Thus ends the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts troubled me greatly, and my face turned pale. But I kept the matter to myself.”
