1. 1ROBПомни о своём Создателе с юности, пока не наступили тяжёлые дни и годы, о которых ты будешь говорить: "Нет мне удовольствия в них",BSBBSB: Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of adversity come and the years approach of which you will say, “I find no pleasure in them,”
2. 2ROBпока не померкли солнце, свет, луна и звёзды и не вернулись тучи после дождя.BSBBSB: before the light of the sun, moon, and stars is darkened, and the clouds return after the rain,
3. 3ROBПридёт день, когда задрожат охраняющие дом и сильные мужчины согнутся, молотящие перестанут молоть, потому что их осталось немного, и смотрящие в окно станут мрачными,BSBBSB: on the day the keepers of the house tremble and the strong men stoop, when those grinding cease because they are few and those watching through windows see dimly,
4. 4ROBбудут закрывать двери на улицу, когда умолкнет звук жернова, и человек будет вставать по крику петуха, пения дочерей не станет,BSBBSB: when the doors to the street are shut and the sound of the mill fades away, when one rises at the sound of a bird and all the daughters of song grow faint,
5. 5ROBи будут бояться высоты и опасностей на дороге. Зацветёт миндаль, отяжелеет кузнечик, и осыплется каперс, потому что человек отходит в свой вечный дом, и плакальщицы готовы окружить его на улице.BSBBSB: when men fear the heights and dangers of the road, when the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper loses its spring, and the caper berry shrivels—for then man goes to his eternal home and mourners walk the streets.
6. 6ROBПока не порвалась серебряная цепочка, и не разорвалась золотая повязка, не разбился кувшин у источника, и не обрушилось колесо над колодцем.BSBBSB: Remember Him before the silver cord is snapped and the golden bowl is crushed, before the pitcher is shattered at the spring and the wheel is broken at the well,
7. 7ROBИ пыль вернётся в землю, чем она и была, а дух вернётся к Богу, Который его дал.BSBBSB: before the dust returns to the ground from which it came and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
8. 8ROBСуета сует,— сказал Екклесиаст, всё— суета!»BSBBSB: “Futility of futilities,” says the Teacher. “Everything is futile!”
9. 9ROBКроме того, что Екклесиаст был мудр, он ещё учил народ знанию. Он всё испытывал, исследовал и составил много притчей.BSBBSB: Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also taught the people knowledge; he pondered, searched out, and arranged many proverbs.
10. 10ROBЕкклесиаст старался находить изящные высказывания, и слова истины он записал верно.BSBBSB: The Teacher searched to find delightful sayings and to record accurate words of truth.
11. 11ROBСлова мудрых— как иглы и как вбитые гвозди, и собраны одним пастухом.BSBBSB: The words of the wise are like goads, and the anthologies of the masters are like firmly embedded nails driven by a single Shepherd.
12. 12ROBСын мой, а что сверх всего этого, того берегись: составлять много книг— конца не будет, и много читать— утомительно для тела.BSBBSB: And by these, my son, be further warned: There is no end to the making of many books, and much study wearies the body.
13. 13ROBТеперь выслушаем сущность всего: бойся Бога и соблюдай Его заповеди,BSBBSB: When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man.
14. 14ROBпотому что в этом всё для человека. Ведь Бог приведёт на суд каждое дело и всё тайное— хорошее оно или плохое.BSBBSB: For God will bring every deed into judgment, along with every hidden thing, whether good or evil.
