1Пророчество о приморской пустыне: «Как бури проносятся на юге, так он идёт из пустыни, из страшной земли.This is the burden against the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the Negev, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.

2Мне показано грозное видение: грабитель грабит, опустошитель опустошает. Поднимись, Элам! Осаждай, Мидию! Я положу конец всем скорбям.A dire vision is declared to me: “The traitor still betrays, and the destroyer still destroys. Go up, O Elam! Lay siege, O Media! I will put an end to all her groaning.”

3От этого дрожат мои бёдра, схватили меня муки, словно муки рождающей. Я взволнован от того, что слышу, я смущён от того, что вижу.Therefore my body is filled with anguish. Pain grips me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am bewildered to hear, I am dismayed to see.

4Моё сердце трепещет, меня бьёт дрожь, желанная ночь превратилась в ужас для меня.My heart falters; fear makes me tremble. The twilight I desired has turned to horror.

5Готовят стол, расстилают покрывала, едят, пьют. "Вожди, вставайте! Мажьте щиты!"They prepare a table, they lay out a carpet, they eat, they drink! Rise up, O princes, oil the shields!

6Потому что так сказал мне Господь: "Иди, поставь наблюдателя. Пусть он докладывает, что увидит".For this is what the Lord says to me: “Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.

7И он увидел колесницы и всадников, едущих попарно на конях, всадников на ослах, всадников на верблюдах. Он усердно вслушивался, с большим вниманием.When he sees chariots with teams of horsemen, riders on donkeys, riders on camels, he must be alert, fully alert.”

8Он закричал как лев: "Мой господин! Я стоял на страже весь день и на своём месте оставался каждую ночь.Then the lookout shouted: “Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower; night after night I stay at my post.

9И, вот, едут люди на колесницах и всадники на конях попарно". Потом он провозгласил: "Пал, пал Вавилон, и все идолы его богов лежат разбитые на земле!"Look, here come the riders, horsemen in pairs.” And one answered, saying: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon! All the images of her gods lie shattered on the ground!”

10О, мой измолоченный, сын моего гумна! Что слышал я от Господа Саваофа, Бога Израиля, то вам и сообщил».O my people, crushed on the threshing floor, I tell you what I have heard from the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel.

11Пророчество о Думе: «Кричат мне с Сеира: "Сторож! Сколько осталось ночи? Сторож, сколько ночи?"This is the burden against Dumah: One calls to me from Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?”

12Сторож отвечает: "Приближается утро, но ещё ночь. Если хотите спросить, то спрашивайте, вернитесь, приходите"».The watchman replies, “Morning has come, but also the night. If you would inquire, then inquire. Come back yet again.”

13Пророчество об Аравии: «Ночуйте в аравийском лесу, деданские караваны!This is the burden against Arabia: In the thickets of Arabia you must lodge, O caravans of Dedanites.

14Живущие в фемайской земле, несите воду навстречу жаждущим. С хлебом встречайте бегущих,Bring water for the thirsty, O dwellers of Tema; meet the refugees with food.

15ведь они бегут от мечей, от обнажённого меча, от натянутого лука и от жестокости войны.For they flee from the sword—the sword that is drawn—from the bow that is bent, and from the stress of battle.

16Потому что так сказал мне Господь: "Ещё год, равный году наёмника, и вся слава Кидара исчезнет.For this is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a hired worker would count it, all the glory of Kedar will be gone.

17Лучников у храбрых сыновей Кидара останется немного",— так сказал Господь, Бог Израиля».The remaining archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be few.” For the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
