1Среди фарисеев был один из иудейских начальников по имени Никодим.Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.

2Он ночью пришёл к Иисусу и сказал Ему:«Равви! Мы знаем, что Ты– учитель, который пришёл от Бога, ведь таких чудес, какие Ты делаешь, никто не может делать, если с ним не будет Бога».He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”

3Иисус ответил ему:«Истину, истину говорю тебе: кто не родится свыше, тот не сможет увидеть Божьего Царства».Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

4Никодим спросил у Него:«Как может человек родиться, если он уже стар? Неужели он может войти внутрь своей матери и родиться во второй раз?»“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time to be born?”

5Иисус ответил:«Истину, истину говорю тебе: кто не родится от воды и Духа, тот не сможет войти в Божье Царство.Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

6То, что рождается от плоти,– это плоть, а то, что рождается от Духа,– это дух.Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.

7Не удивляйся тому, что Я сказал тебе:" Вы должны родиться свыше".Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’

8Дух дышит, где хочет, и голос его слышишь, но не знаешь, откуда приходит и куда уходит. Так же бывает с каждым, кто рождён от Духа».The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

9Никодим спросил у Него:«Как это может быть?»“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

10Иисус ответил:«Ты– учитель Израиля и не знаешь этого?“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and you do not understand these things?

11Истину, истину говорю тебе: мы говорим о том, что знаем, и свидетельствуем о том, что видели, а вы не принимаете наше свидетельство.Truly, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, and yet you people do not accept our testimony.

12Если Я сказал вам о земном, и вы не верите, то как поверите, если буду говорить вам о небесном?If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

13Никто не поднимался на небо, кроме Сына Человеческого, который находился на небе и спустился с неба.No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.

14Как Моисей вознёс змею в пустыне, так и Сын Человеческий должен быть вознесён,Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

15чтобы каждый верующий в Него не погиб, но имел вечную жизнь.that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.

16Ведь Бог так полюбил мир, что отдал Своего Единственного Сына, чтобы каждый верующий в Него не погиб, но имел вечную жизнь.For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17Потому что Бог послал Своего Сына в мир не для того, чтобы судить, а для того, чтобы мир был спасён через Него.For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

18Верующий в Него не будет судим, а неверующий уже осуждён, потому что не поверил в имя Единственного Божьего Сына.Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

19Суд состоит в том, что свет пришёл в мир, но люди полюбили больше тьму, чем свет, потому что делали злые дела.And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil.

20Ведь каждый, кто совершает зло, ненавидит свет и не идёт к свету, чтобы не стали известны его злые дела.Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

21А тот, кто поступает по правде, идёт к свету, чтобы видны были его дела, потому что они сделаны в Боге».But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”

22После этого Иисус со Своими учениками пришёл в иудейскую землю, где жил с ними и крестил.After this, Jesus and His disciples went into the Judean countryside, where He spent some time with them and baptized.

23Также и Иоанн крестил в Еноне, недалеко от Салима, потому что там было много воды. Туда приходили и крестились,Now John was also baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because the water was plentiful there, and people kept coming to be baptized.

24ведь Иоанн ещё не был заключён в темницу.(For John had not yet been thrown into prison.)

25Тогда у учеников Иоанна возник спор с иудеями об очищении.Then a dispute arose between John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the issue of ceremonial washing.

26Ученики пришли к Иоанну и сказали ему:«Равви! Тот, Кто был с тобой при Иордане и о Котором ты свидетельствовал,— Он крестит, и все идут к Нему».So John’s disciples came to him and said, “Look, Rabbi, the One who was with you beyond the Jordan, the One you testified about—He is baptizing, and everyone is going to Him.”

27Иоанн ответил:«Человек ничего не может взять на себя, если это не будет дано ему с неба.John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.

28Вы сами свидетели того, что я сказал:" Я не Христос, но я послан перед Ним".You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but am sent ahead of Him.’

29Жених тот, у кого есть невеста, а его друг, который стоит и внимательно слушает голос жениха, наполняется радостью. И вот теперь я переполнен этой радостью.The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom stands and listens for him, and is overjoyed to hear the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

30Ему предстоит возрастать, а мне становиться меньше.He must increase; I must decrease.

31Тот, кто приходит свыше, больше всех, а тот, кто принадлежит земле,— и есть земной, и говорит, как земной. Тот, кто приходит с неба, больше всех.The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The One who comes from heaven is above all.

32Он свидетельствует о том, что видел и слышал, но никто не принимает Его свидетельства.He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.

33А тот, кто принял Его свидетельство, тем самым подтверждает, что Бог истинен.Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful.

34Потому что Тот, Которого послал Бог, говорит Божьи слова, так как не мерой Бог даёт Духа.For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

35Отец любит Сына и всё отдал в Его руки.The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in His hands.

36Верующий в Сына имеет вечную жизнь, а не верующий в Сына не увидит жизни, но гнев Бога остаётся на нём».Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”
