1После этого Иисус ходил по Галилее. Он не хотел ходить по Иудее, потому что иудеи хотели убить Его.After this, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because the Jews there were trying to kill Him.

2Приближался иудейский праздник Суккот.However, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near.

3Братья Иисуса сказали Ему:«Выйди отсюда и пойди в Иудею, чтобы и Твои ученики видели дела, которые Ты делаешь.So Jesus’ brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples there may see the works You are doing.

4Ведь если кто хочет быть известным, тот ничего не делает тайно. Если Ты совершаешь такие дела, то покажи Себя миру».For no one who wants to be known publicly acts in secret. Since You are doing these things, show Yourself to the world.”

5Его братья тоже не верили в Него.For even His own brothers did not believe in Him.

6На это Иисус ответил им:«Моё время ещё не настало, а для вас всегда время.Therefore Jesus told them, “Although your time is always at hand, My time has not yet come.

7Вас мир не может ненавидеть, а Меня ненавидит, потому что Я свидетельствую о нём, что его дела злые.The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify that its works are evil.

8Вы идите на праздник, а Я пока на этот праздник не пойду, потому что Моё время ещё не настало».Go up to the feast on your own. I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet come.”

9Когда Иисус сказал им это, Он остался в Галилее.Having said this, Jesus remained in Galilee.

10Но, когда Его братья пришли на праздник, тогда и Он пришёл, но не открыто, а тайно.But after His brothers had gone up to the feast, He also went—not publicly, but in secret.

11Иудеи искали Его на празднике и спрашивали:«Где Иисус?»So the Jews were looking for Him at the feast and asking, “Where is He?”

12В народе было много споров о Нём: одни говорили, что Он добрый, а другие говорили, что Он вводит народ в заблуждение.Many in the crowds were whispering about Him. Some said, “He is a good man.” But others replied, “No, He deceives the people.”

13Впрочем, из- за страха перед иудеями никто не говорил о Нём открыто.Yet no one would speak publicly about Him for fear of the Jews.

14Но к середине праздника Иисус вошёл в храм и учил.About halfway through the feast, Jesus went up to the temple courts and began to teach.

15Иудеи удивлялись и спрашивали:«Как Он может так знать Писания, если Он не учился?»The Jews were amazed and asked, “How did this man attain such learning without having studied?”

16Иисус ответил им:«Моё учение– не Моё, а Того, Кто послал Меня.“My teaching is not My own,” Jesus replied. “It comes from Him who sent Me.

17Кто хочет исполнить Его волю, тот поймёт: от Бога это учение или Я Сам от Себя говорю.If anyone desires to do His will, he will know whether My teaching is from God or whether I speak on My own.

18Тот, кто говорит сам от себя,– ищет славу для себя, а Кто ищет славу Пославшему Его– Тот истинен, и нет в Нём неправды.He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is a man of truth; in Him there is no falsehood.

19Разве Моисей не дал вам закон? Но никто из вас не поступает по закону. За что тогда Меня хотите убить?»Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps it. Why are you trying to kill Me?”

20Народ ответил:«Не демон ли в Тебе? Кто хочет убить Тебя?»“You have a demon,” the crowd replied. “Who is trying to kill You?”

21Иисус ответил им:«Я одно дело совершил, и все вы удивляетесь.Jesus answered them, “I did one miracle, and you are all amazed.

22Моисей дал вам обрезание(хотя оно не от Моисея, но от отцов), и в субботу вы человеку делаете обрезание.But because Moses gave you circumcision, you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath (not that it is from Moses, but from the patriarchs.)

23Если в субботу человек обрезывается, чтобы не нарушить закон Моисея, то почему вы злитесь на Меня за то, что Я в субботу исцелил всего человека?If a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses will not be broken, why are you angry with Me for making the whole man well on the Sabbath?

24Не судите по внешности, но судите праведным судом».Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly.”

25В это время некоторые жители Иерусалима говорили:«Не Тот ли это Человек, Которого ищут, чтобы убить?Then some of the people of Jerusalem began to say, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?

26Вот, Он говорит открыто, и Ему ничего не говорят: неужели начальники поняли, что Он действительно Христос?Yet here He is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying anything to Him. Have the rulers truly recognized that this is the Christ?

27Мы знаем Его, откуда Он. Когда же придёт Христос, никто не будет знать, откуда Он».But we know where this man is from. When the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”

28Тогда Иисус, уча в храме, громко сказал:«Знаете и Меня, и откуда Я. Я пришёл не Сам от Себя, но есть Истинный− Пославший Меня, Которого вы не знаете.Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, “You know Me, and you know where I am from. I have not come of My own accord, but He who sent Me is true. You do not know Him,

29Я знаю Его, потому что Я от Него, и Он послал Меня».but I know Him, because I am from Him and He sent Me.”

30Иисуса хотели схватить, но никто не схватил Его, потому что ещё не пришло Его время.So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

31Многие из народа поверили в Него и говорили:«Когда придёт Христос, неужели даст больше знаков, чем дал Этот Человек?»Many in the crowd, however, believed in Him and said, “When the Christ comes, will He perform more signs than this man?”

32Когда фарисеи услышали в народе такие разговоры о Нём, тогда они вместе с первосвященниками послали служителей схватить Его.When the Pharisees heard the crowd whispering these things about Jesus, they and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.

33Иисус сказал им:«Недолго Мне осталось быть с вами, и пойду к Тому, Кто послал Меня.So Jesus said, “I am with you only a little while longer, and then I am going to the One who sent Me.

34Будете искать Меня и не найдёте, и где Я буду, туда вы не сможете прийти».You will look for Me, but you will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”

35Услышав это, иудеи спрашивали друг у друга:«Куда Он хочет идти, что мы не найдём Его? Не хочет ли Он идти в еллинское рассеяние и учить еллинов?At this, the Jews said to one another, “Where does He intend to go that we will not find Him? Will He go where the Jews are dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

36Что значат эти слова, которые Он сказал:" Будете искать Меня и не найдёте, и где Я буду, туда вы не сможете прийти"?»What does He mean by saying, ‘You will look for Me, but you will not find Me,’ and, ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”

37В последний великий день праздника Иисус встал и громко сказал:«Кто жаждет, иди ко Мне и пей.On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

38Кто верит в Меня, из того потекут реки живой воды, как сказано в Писании».Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”

39Это Он сказал о Духе, Которого примут верующие в Него: ведь ещё не было на них Святого Духа, потому что Иисус ещё не был прославлен.He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

40Многие из народа услышали эти слова и говорили:«Он точно пророк».On hearing these words, some of the people said, “This is truly the Prophet.”

41Другие говорили:«Это Христос». Другие же говорили:«Разве Христос придёт из Галилеи?Others declared, “This is the Christ.” But still others asked, “How can the Christ come from Galilee?

42Разве не сказано в Писании, что Христос будет потомком Давида из Вифлеема, из того селения, откуда был Давид?»Doesn’t the Scripture say that the Christ will come from the line of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”

43Так народ разделился во мнениях о Нём.So there was division in the crowd because of Jesus.

44Некоторые из них пытались схватить Иисуса, но никто Его не тронул.Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him.

45Поэтому служители вернулись к первосвященникам и фарисеям, и те спросили у них:«Почему вы не привели Его?»Then the officers returned to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”

46Служители ответили:«Никогда ещё человек не говорил так, как Он».“Never has anyone spoken like this man!” the officers answered.

47Фарисеи сказали им:«Неужели и вы обмануты?“Have you also been deceived?” replied the Pharisees.

48Разве кто- либо из начальников или из фарисеев поверил в Него?“Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?

49Но этот народ не знает Закона, поэтому он проклят».But this crowd that does not know the law—they are under a curse.”

50Один из них, Никодим, который приходил ночью к Иисусу, спросил у них:Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who himself was one of them, asked,

51«Разве наш Закон судит человека, пока его не выслушают и не узнают, что он сделал?»“Does our law convict a man without first hearing from him to determine what he has done?”

52На это ответили ему:«Может ты тоже из Галилеи? Исследуй и убедись, что из Галилеи пророк не приходит».“Aren’t you also from Galilee?” they replied. “Look into it, and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”

53И все разошлись по домам.Then each went to his own home.
