1Когда весь народ перешёл через Иордан, Господь сказал Иисусу:When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua,

2«Возьмите себе из народа двенадцать человек, по одному человеку из колена,“Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe,

3прикажите и скажите: "Возьмите себе отсюда, из середины Иордана, где неподвижно стояли ноги священников, двенадцать камней, перенесите их с собой и положите их на ночлег, где будете ночевать в эту ночь"».and command them: ‘Take up for yourselves twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan where the priests were standing, carry them with you, and set them down in the place where you spend the night.’”

4Иисус призвал двенадцать человек, которых назначил из сыновей Израиля, по одному человеку из колена,So Joshua summoned the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe,

5и сказал им: «Пойдите перед ковчегом Господа, вашего Бога, в середину Иордана и положите каждый на своё плечо по одному камню, по числу колен сыновей Израиля,and said to them, “Cross over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of Israel,

6чтобы они были у вас знаком. Когда же спросят вас ваши сыновья и скажут: "Что значат эти камни для вас?",to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’

7то вы скажете им: "Воды Иордана разделились перед ковчегом завета Господа. Когда он переходил через Иордан, вода Иордана разделилась". Таким образом, эти камни будут вечным напоминанием для сыновей Израиля».you are to tell them, ‘The waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters were cut off.’ Therefore these stones will be a memorial to the Israelites forever.”

8Сыновья Израиля сделали так, как приказал Иисус: взяли двенадцать камней из Иордана, по числу колен сыновей Израиля, как говорил Господь Иисусу, и перенесли их с собой на ночлег, и положили их там.Thus the Israelites did as Joshua had commanded them. They took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, one for each tribe of Israel, just as the LORD had told Joshua; and they carried them to the camp, where they set them down.

9Двенадцать камней поставил Иисус посередине Иордана на месте, где стояли ноги священников, которые несли ковчег завета. Они там и до этого дня.Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant stood. And the stones are there to this day.

10Священники, которые несли ковчег, стояли на середине Иордана, пока не окончено было всё, что Господь велел Иисусу сказать народу– так, как завещал Моисей Иисусу. А народ между тем поспешно переходил.Now the priests who carried the ark remained standing in the middle of the Jordan until the people had completed everything the LORD had commanded Joshua to tell them, just as Moses had directed Joshua. The people hurried across,

11Когда весь народ перешёл, тогда перешёл и ковчег Господа, и священники перед народом.and after everyone had finished crossing, the priests with the ark of the LORD crossed in the sight of the people.

12А сыновья Рувима, сыновья Гада и половина колена Манассии перешли вооружённые впереди сыновей Израиля, как говорил им Моисей.The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over before the Israelites, armed for battle as Moses had instructed them.

13Около сорока тысяч вооружённых на войну перешло перед Господом на равнины Иерихона, чтобы сразиться.About 40,000 troops armed for battle crossed over before the LORD into the plains of Jericho.

14В тот день Господь прославил Иисуса на глазах у всех израильтян, и стали бояться его, как боялись Моисея во все дни его жизни.On that day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, and they revered him all the days of his life, just as they had revered Moses.

15Господь сказал Иисусу:Then the LORD said to Joshua,

16«Прикажи священникам, несущим ковчег откровения, выйти из Иордана».“Command the priests who carry the ark of the Testimony to come up from the Jordan.”

17Иисус приказал священникам и сказал: «Выйдите из Иордана».So Joshua commanded the priests, “Come up from the Jordan.”

18И когда священники, которые несли ковчег завета Господа, вышли из Иордана, то, лишь только стопы их ног коснулись суши, вода Иордана устремилась по своему месту и потекла так, как текла раньше, выше всех своих берегов.When the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD came up out of the Jordan and their feet touched the dry land, the waters of the Jordan returned to their course and overflowed all the banks as before.

19И вышел народ из Иордана в десятый день первого месяца и поставил лагерь в Галгале, на восточной стороне Иерихона.On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho.

20Также двенадцать камней, которые взяли они из Иордана, Иисус поставил в ГалгалеAnd there at Gilgal Joshua set up the twelve stones they had taken from the Jordan.

21и сказал сыновьям Израиля: «Когда ваши сыновья в последующее время спросят своих отцов: "Что значат эти камни?",Then Joshua said to the Israelites, “In the future, when your children ask their fathers, ‘What is the meaning of these stones?’

22скажите вашим сыновьям: "Израиль перешёл через Иордан по суше",you are to tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’

23потому что ваш Господь, Бог, высушил воды Иордана для вас, пока вы не перешли его, так же, как Господь, ваш Бог, сделал с Красным морем, которое высушил перед нами, пока мы не перешли его,For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, just as He did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over.

24чтобы все народы земли узнали, что рука Господа сильна, и чтобы вы всегда боялись Господа, вашего Бога».He did this so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, and so that you may always fear the LORD your God.”
