1В те дни кесарь Август издал указ сделать перепись по всей земле.Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census should be taken of the whole empire.

2Это была первая перепись, когда Сирией управлял Квириний.This was the first census to take place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

3Каждый пошёл записываться в свой город.And everyone went to his own town to register.

4Пошёл также Иосиф из Галилеи, из города Назарет, в Иудею, в город Давида под названием Вифлеем, потому что он был из рода Давида,So Joseph also went up from Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, since he was from the house and line of David.

5чтобы записаться с обручённой с ним Марией, которая была беременна.He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to him in marriage and was expecting a child.

6Когда же они были там, наступило время ей родить.While they were there, the time came for her Child to be born.

7Она родила своего Сына, Первенца, и, спеленав Его, положила в кормушку для скота, потому что не было им места в гостинице.And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

8В той местности были на поле пастухи, которые ночью сторожили своё стадо.And there were shepherds residing in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night.

9Им явился ангел Господа. Слава Господа осветила их, и они очень сильно испугались.Just then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

10Ангел сказал им:«Не бойтесь! Я принёс вам добрую весть о великой радости, которая будет всем людям,But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:

11потому что сегодня в городе Давида родился для вас Спаситель— Христос Господь.Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!

12И вот вам знак: вы найдёте Младенца, завёрнутого в пелёнки, лежащего в кормушке для скота».And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

13Внезапно с ангелом явилось многочисленное небесное войско, славящее Бога словами:And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:

14«Слава Богу на небесах, а на земле мир, к людям доброе намерение!»“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

15Когда ангелы удалились от них на небо, пастухи сказали друг другу:«Пойдём в Вифлеем и посмотрим, что там случилось, о чём объявил нам Господь».When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

16Они поспешно пришли и нашли Марию, Иосифа и Младенца, лежащего в кормушке для скота.So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the Baby, who was lying in the manger.

17Увидев их, рассказали то, что им было сказано о Младенце.After they had seen the Child, they spread the message they had received about Him.

18Все, кто слышал, удивлялись тому, о чём рассказывали им пастухи.And all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

19А Мария сохраняла все эти слова, помня в своём сердце.But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

20Пастухи вернулись, славя и хваля Бога за всё то, что видели и слышали, и о чём им было сказано.The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, which was just as the angel had told them.

21Спустя восемь дней, когда пришло время совершить обрезание Младенца, Его назвали Иисусом, именем, которое дал ангел до Его зачатия.When the eight days before His circumcision had passed, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He was conceived.

22Когда закончились дни их очищения по закону Моисея, принесли Его в Иерусалим, чтобы представить перед Господом,And when the time of purification according to the Law of Moses was complete, His parents brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord

23как и написано в законе Господа, чтобы всякий младенец мужского пола, рождающийся первым, был посвящён Господу. А также они пришли,(as it is written in the Law of the Lord: “Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord”),

24чтобы принести в жертву двух горлиц или двух голубиных птенцов, как сказано в законе Господа.and to offer the sacrifice specified in the Law of the Lord: “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

25Тогда жил в Иерусалиме человек, которого звали Симеон. Он был праведным и благочестивым человеком, ожидающим утешения для Израиля, и Святой Дух был на нём.Now there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

26Ему было предсказано Святым Духом, что он не умрёт, пока не увидит Господа Христа.The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

27Симеон пришёл по вдохновению в храм. И, когда родители принесли Младенца Иисуса, чтобы совершить над Ним установленный законом обряд,Led by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. And when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for Him what was customary under the Law,

28он взял Его на руки, благословил Бога и сказал:Simeon took Him in his arms and blessed God, saying:

29«Владыка, теперь отпускаешь Твоего раба по Твоему слову с миром,“Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss Your servant in peace.

30потому что мои глаза видели Твоё спасение,For my eyes have seen Your salvation,

31которое Ты приготовил перед лицом всех народов,which You have prepared in the sight of all people,

32свет к просвещению язычников и славу Твоего народа Израиля».a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to Your people Israel.”

33Иосиф и мать Иисуса удивлялись сказанному о Нём.The Child’s father and mother were amazed at what was spoken about Him.

34Симеон благословил их и сказал Марии, матери Иисуса:«Он будет причиной падения и восстановления многих в Израиле и предметом для споров,Then Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary: “Behold, this Child is appointed to cause the rise and fall of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,

35и тебе самой меч пронзит душу, и откроются помыслы многих сердец».so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed—and a sword will pierce your soul as well.”

36Там была также пророчица Анна, дочь Фануила из колена Асира, достигшая глубокой старости. Она прожила с мужем от своего девичества семь лет,There was also a prophetess named Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was well along in years. She had been married for seven years,

37была вдовой восьмидесяти четырёх лет и не отходила от храма, служа Богу постом и молитвой день и ночь.and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

38В это самое время она, подойдя, славила Господа и говорила о Нём всем ожидающим избавления Иерусалима.Coming forward at that moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the Child to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

39Сделав всё по закону Господа, они вернулись в Галилею, в свой город Назарет.When Jesus’ parents had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.

40Младенец рос и укреплялся духом, наполняясь мудростью, и Божья благодать была на Нём.And the Child grew and became strong. He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.

41Каждый год родители Иисуса ходили в Иерусалим на праздник Пасхи.Every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.

42Когда Ему было двенадцать лет, они также по обычаю пришли в Иерусалим на праздник.And when He was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the Feast.

43Когда закончились дни праздника и они возвращались, Мальчик Иисус остался в Иерусалиме, а родители этого не заметили,When those days were over and they were returning home, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but His parents were unaware He had stayed.

44потому что думали, что Он идёт с другими. Проведя день в пути, стали искать Его среди родственников и знакомыхAssuming He was in their company, they traveled on for a day before they began to look for Him among their relatives and friends.

45и, не найдя Иисуса, вернулись в Иерусалим на Его поиски.When they could not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him.

46Через три дня нашли Его в храме. Иисус сидел посреди учителей, слушал и спрашивал их.Finally, after three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

47Все слушавшие удивлялись Его разуму и ответам.And all who heard Him were astounded at His understanding and His answers.

48Увидев Иисуса, удивились, и Его мать сказала Ему:«Дитя! Почему Ты так с нами поступил? Твой отец и я искали Тебя с великой скорбью».When His parents saw Him, they were astonished. “Child, why have You done this to us?” His mother asked. “Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You.”

49Он сказал им:«Зачем вы искали Меня? Разве вы не знали, что Я должен быть в том, что принадлежит Моему Отцу?»“Why were you looking for Me?” He asked. “Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

50Но они не поняли сказанных Им слов.But they did not understand the statement He was making to them.

51Он пошёл с ними. Пришёл в Назарет и был послушен им. Его мать сохраняла все эти слова в своём сердце.Then He went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But His mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

52Иисус взрослел, преуспевая в премудрости и в любви у Бога и людей.And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
