In My Father’s House Are Many Rooms 2 RV In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. BSB BSB: In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
3 RV And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. BSB BSB: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am.
4 RV And whither I go, ye know the way. BSB BSB: You know the way to the place where I am going.”
The Way, the Truth, and the Life 5 RV Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way? BSB BSB: “Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
7 RV If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. BSB BSB: If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
8 RV Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. BSB BSB: Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
10 RV Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works. BSB BSB: Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works.
11 RV Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. BSB BSB: Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me—or at least believe on account of the works themselves.
12 RV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father. BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 RV And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. BSB BSB: And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 RV If ye shall ask me anything in my name, that will I do. BSB BSB: If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit (John 16:5–16)
17 RV even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.BSB BSB: the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
18 RV I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you. BSB BSB: I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

20 RV In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. BSB BSB: On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.
21 RV He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him. BSB BSB: Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”
22 RV Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? BSB BSB: Judas (not Iscariot) asked Him, “Lord, why are You going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?”
24 RV He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me. BSB BSB: Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me.
25 RV These things have I spoken unto you, while yet abiding with you. BSB BSB: All this I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
Peace I Leave with You 29 RV And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe. BSB BSB: And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe.
30 RV I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me; BSB BSB: I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming, and he has no claim on Me.
31 RV but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. BSB BSB: But I do exactly what the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Get up! Let us go on from here.
