To You I Lift Up My Soul 1 RV A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.BSB BSB: Of David. To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
2 RV O my God, in thee have I trusted, let me not be ashamed; let not mine enemies triumph over me. BSB BSB: in You, my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.
3 RV Yea, none that wait on thee shall be ashamed: they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause. BSB BSB: Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who engage in treachery without cause will be disgraced.
4 RV Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. BSB BSB: Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.
5 RV Guide me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. BSB BSB: Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.
6 RV Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. BSB BSB: Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and loving devotion, for they are from age to age.
7 RV Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy lovingkindness remember thou me, for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. BSB BSB: Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD.
8 RV Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he instruct sinners in the way. BSB BSB: Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way.
9 RV The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. BSB BSB: He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.
10 RV All the paths of the LORD are lovingkindness and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. BSB BSB: All the LORD’s ways are loving and faithful to those who keep His covenant and His decrees.
11 RV For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity, for it is great. BSB BSB: For the sake of Your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, for it is great.
12 RV What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he instruct in the way that he shall choose. BSB BSB: Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.
13 RV His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the land. BSB BSB: His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
14 RV The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. BSB BSB: The LORD confides in those who fear Him, and reveals His covenant to them.
15 RV Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. BSB BSB: My eyes are always on the LORD, for He will free my feet from the mesh.
16 RV Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. BSB BSB: Turn to me and be gracious, for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 RV The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. BSB BSB: The troubles of my heart increase; free me from my distress.
18 RV Consider mine affliction and my travail; and forgive all my sins. BSB BSB: Consider my affliction and trouble, and take away all my sins.
19 RV Consider mine enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. BSB BSB: Consider my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with vicious hatred.
20 RV O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in thee. BSB BSB: Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.
21 RV Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on thee. BSB BSB: May integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for You.
22 RV Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. BSB BSB: Redeem Israel, O God, from all its distress.
