1. 1SANIASmanuṣyebhyo nahi manuṣyairapi nahi kintu yīśukhrīṣṭena mṛtagaṇamadhyāt tasyotthāpayitrā pitreśvareṇa ca prerito yo'haṁ paulaḥ so'haṁBSBBSB: Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead—
2. 2SANIASmatsahavarttino bhrātaraśca vayaṁ gālātīyadeśasthāḥ samitīḥ prati patraṁ likhāmaḥ|BSBBSB: and all the brothers with me, To the churches of Galatia:
3. 3SANIASpitreśvareṇāsmāṁka prabhunā yīśunā khrīṣṭena ca yuṣmabhyam anugrahaḥ śāntiśca dīyatāṁ|BSBBSB: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
4. 4SANIASasmākaṁ tāteśvaresyecchānusāreṇa varttamānāt kutsitasaṁsārād asmān nistārayituṁ yoBSBBSB: who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5. 5SANIASyīśurasmākaṁ pāpahetorātmotsargaṁ kṛtavān sa sarvvadā dhanyo bhūyāt| tathāstu|BSBBSB: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
6. 6SANIASkhrīṣṭasyānugraheṇa yo yuṣmān āhūtavān tasmānnivṛtya yūyam atitūrṇam anyaṁ susaṁvādam anvavarttata tatrāhaṁ vismayaṁ manye|BSBBSB: I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7. 7SANIASso'nyasusaṁvādaḥ susaṁvādo nahi kintu kecit mānavā yuṣmān cañcalīkurvvanti khrīṣṭīyasusaṁvādasya viparyyayaṁ karttuṁ ceṣṭante ca|BSBBSB: which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.
8. 8SANIASyuṣmākaṁ sannidhau yaḥ susaṁvādo'smābhi rghoṣitastasmād anyaḥ susaṁvādo'smākaṁ svargīyadūtānāṁ vā madhye kenacid yadi ghoṣyate tarhi sa śapto bhavatu|BSBBSB: But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse!
9. 9SANIASpūrvvaṁ yadvad akathayāma, idānīmahaṁ punastadvat kathayāmi yūyaṁ yaṁ susaṁvādaṁ gṛhītavantastasmād anyo yena kenacid yuṣmatsannidhau ghoṣyate sa śapto bhavatu|BSBBSB: As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!
10. 10SANIASsāmprataṁ kamaham anunayāmi? īśvaraṁ kiṁvā mānavān? ahaṁ kiṁ mānuṣebhyo rocituṁ yate? yadyaham idānīmapi mānuṣebhyo ruruciṣeya tarhi khrīṣṭasya paricārako na bhavāmi|BSBBSB: Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11. 11SANIAShe bhrātaraḥ, mayā yaḥ susaṁvādo ghoṣitaḥ sa mānuṣānna labdhastadahaṁ yuṣmān jñāpayāmi|BSBBSB: For I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached was not devised by man.
12. 12SANIASahaṁ kasmāccit manuṣyāt taṁ na gṛhītavān na vā śikṣitavān kevalaṁ yīśoḥ khrīṣṭasya prakāśanādeva|BSBBSB: I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
13. 13SANIASpurā yihūdimatācārī yadāham āsaṁ tadā yādṛśam ācaraṇam akaravam īśvarasya samitiṁ pratyatīvopadravaṁ kurvvan yādṛk tāṁ vyanāśayaṁ tadavaśyaṁ śrutaṁ yuṣmābhiḥ|BSBBSB: For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how severely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
14. 14SANIASaparañca pūrvvapuruṣaparamparāgateṣu vākyeṣvanyāpekṣātīvāsaktaḥ san ahaṁ yihūdidharmmate mama samavayaskān bahūn svajātīyān atyaśayi|BSBBSB: I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15. 15SANIASkiñca ya īśvaro mātṛgarbhasthaṁ māṁ pṛthak kṛtvā svīyānugraheṇāhūtavānBSBBSB: But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased
16. 16SANIASsa yadā mayi svaputraṁ prakāśituṁ bhinnadeśīyānāṁ samīpe bhayā taṁ ghoṣayituñcābhyalaṣat tadāhaṁ kravyaśoṇitābhyāṁ saha na mantrayitvāBSBBSB: to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not rush to consult with flesh and blood,
17. 17SANIASpūrvvaniyuktānāṁ preritānāṁ samīpaṁ yirūśālamaṁ na gatvāravadeśaṁ gatavān paścāt tatsthānād dammeṣakanagaraṁ parāvṛtyāgatavān|BSBBSB: nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles who came before me, but I went into Arabia and later returned to Damascus.
18. 18SANIAStataḥ paraṁ varṣatraye vyatīte'haṁ pitaraṁ sambhāṣituṁ yirūśālamaṁ gatvā pañcadaśadināni tena sārddham atiṣṭhaṁ|BSBBSB: Only after three years did I go up to Jerusalem to confer with Cephas, and I stayed with him fifteen days.
19. 19SANIASkintu taṁ prabho rbhrātaraṁ yākūbañca vinā preritānāṁ nānyaṁ kamapyapaśyaṁ|BSBBSB: But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
20. 20SANIASyānyetāni vākyāni mayā likhyante tānyanṛtāni na santi tad īśvaro jānāti|BSBBSB: I assure you before God that what I am writing to you is no lie.
21. 21SANIAStataḥ param ahaṁ suriyāṁ kilikiyāñca deśau gatavān|BSBBSB: Later I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22. 22SANIAStadānīṁ yihūdādeśasthānāṁ khrīṣṭasya samitīnāṁ lokāḥ sākṣāt mama paricayamaprāpya kevalaṁ janaśrutimimāṁ labdhavantaḥ,BSBBSB: I was personally unknown, however, to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
23. 23SANIASyo janaḥ pūrvvam asmān pratyupadravamakarot sa tadā yaṁ dharmmamanāśayat tamevedānīṁ pracārayatīti|BSBBSB: They only heard the account: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
24. 24SANIAStasmāt te māmadhīśvaraṁ dhanyamavadan|BSBBSB: And they glorified God because of me.
