2. 2SANMALസ ആദാവീശ്വരേണ സഹാസീത്|BSBBSB: He was with God in the beginning.
3. 3SANMALതേന സർവ്വം വസ്തു സസൃജേ സർവ്വേഷു സൃഷ്ടവസ്തുഷു കിമപി വസ്തു തേനാസൃഷ്ടം നാസ്തി|BSBBSB: Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.
4. 4SANMALസ ജീവനസ്യാകാരഃ, തച്ച ജീവനം മനുഷ്യാണാം ജ്യോതിഃBSBBSB: In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
5. 5SANMALതജ്ജ്യോതിരന്ധകാരേ പ്രചകാശേ കിന്ത്വന്ധകാരസ്തന്ന ജഗ്രാഹ|BSBBSB: The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6. 6SANMALയോഹൻ നാമക ഏകോ മനുജ ഈശ്വരേണ പ്രേഷയാഞ്ചക്രേ|BSBBSB: There came a man who was sent from God. His name was John.
7. 7SANMALതദ്വാരാ യഥാ സർവ്വേ വിശ്വസന്തി തദർഥം സ തജ്ജ്യോതിഷി പ്രമാണം ദാതും സാക്ഷിസ്വരൂപോ ഭൂത്വാഗമത്,BSBBSB: He came as a witness to testify about the Light, so that through him everyone might believe.
8. 8SANMALസ സ്വയം തജ്ജ്യോതി ർന കിന്തു തജ്ജ്യോതിഷി പ്രമാണം ദാതുമാഗമത്|BSBBSB: He himself was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.
9. 9SANMALജഗത്യാഗത്യ യഃ സർവ്വമനുജേഭ്യോ ദീപ്തിം ദദാതി തദേവ സത്യജ്യോതിഃ|BSBBSB: The true Light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
10. 10SANMALസ യജ്ജഗദസൃജത് തന്മദ്യ ഏവ സ ആസീത് കിന്തു ജഗതോ ലോകാസ്തം നാജാനൻ|BSBBSB: He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.
11. 11SANMALനിജാധികാരം സ ആഗച്ഛത് കിന്തു പ്രജാസ്തം നാഗൃഹ്ലൻ|BSBBSB: He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12. 12SANMALതഥാപി യേ യേ തമഗൃഹ്ലൻ അർഥാത് തസ്യ നാമ്നി വ്യശ്വസൻ തേഭ്യ ഈശ്വരസ്യ പുത്രാ ഭവിതുമ് അധികാരമ് അദദാത്|BSBBSB: But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—
13. 13SANMALതേഷാം ജനിഃ ശോണിതാന്ന ശാരീരികാഭിലാഷാന്ന മാനവാനാമിച്ഛാതോ ന കിന്ത്വീശ്വരാദഭവത്|BSBBSB: children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.
14. 14SANMALസ വാദോ മനുഷ്യരൂപേണാവതീര്യ്യ സത്യതാനുഗ്രഹാഭ്യാം പരിപൂർണഃ സൻ സാർധമ് അസ്മാഭി ർന്യവസത് തതഃ പിതുരദ്വിതീയപുത്രസ്യ യോഗ്യോ യോ മഹിമാ തം മഹിമാനം തസ്യാപശ്യാമ|BSBBSB: The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15. 15SANMALതതോ യോഹനപി പ്രചാര്യ്യ സാക്ഷ്യമിദം ദത്തവാൻ യോ മമ പശ്ചാദ് ആഗമിഷ്യതി സ മത്തോ ഗുരുതരഃ; യതോ മത്പൂർവ്വം സ വിദ്യമാന ആസീത്; യദർഥമ് അഹം സാക്ഷ്യമിദമ് അദാം സ ഏഷഃ|BSBBSB: John testified concerning Him. He cried out, saying, “This is He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’”
16. 16SANMALഅപരഞ്ച തസ്യ പൂർണതായാ വയം സർവ്വേ ക്രമശഃ ക്രമശോനുഗ്രഹം പ്രാപ്താഃ|BSBBSB: From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
17. 17SANMALമൂസാദ്വാരാ വ്യവസ്ഥാ ദത്താ കിന്ത്വനുഗ്രഹഃ സത്യത്വഞ്ച യീശുഖ്രീഷ്ടദ്വാരാ സമുപാതിഷ്ഠതാം|BSBBSB: For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18. “The only Son” or “the only God”
    18SANMALകോപി മനുജ ഈശ്വരം കദാപി നാപശ്യത് കിന്തു പിതുഃ ക്രോഡസ്ഥോഽദ്വിതീയഃ പുത്രസ്തം പ്രകാശയത്|BSBBSB: No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.
19. 19SANMALത്വം കഃ? ഇതി വാക്യം പ്രേഷ്ടും യദാ യിഹൂദീയലോകാ യാജകാൻ ലേവിലോകാംശ്ച യിരൂശാലമോ യോഹനഃ സമീപേ പ്രേഷയാമാസുഃ,BSBBSB: And this was John’s testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, “Who are you?”
20. 20SANMALതദാ സ സ്വീകൃതവാൻ നാപഹ്നൂതവാൻ നാഹമ് അഭിഷിക്ത ഇത്യങ്ഗീകൃതവാൻ|BSBBSB: He did not refuse to confess, but openly declared, “I am not the Christ.”
21. 21SANMALതദാ തേഽപൃച്ഛൻ തർഹി കോ ഭവാൻ? കിം ഏലിയഃ? സോവദത് ന; തതസ്തേഽപൃച്ഛൻ തർഹി ഭവാൻ സ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദീ? സോവദത് നാഹം സഃ|BSBBSB: “Then who are you?” they inquired. “Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”
22. 22SANMALതദാ തേഽപൃച്ഛൻ തർഹി ഭവാൻ കഃ? വയം ഗത്വാ പ്രേരകാൻ ത്വയി കിം വക്ഷ്യാമഃ? സ്വസ്മിൻ കിം വദസി?BSBBSB: So they said to him, “Who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
23. 23SANMALതദാ സോവദത്| പരമേശസ്യ പന്ഥാനം പരിഷ്കുരുത സർവ്വതഃ| ഇതീദം പ്രാന്തരേ വാക്യം വദതഃ കസ്യചിദ്രവഃ| കഥാമിമാം യസ്മിൻ യിശയിയോ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദീ ലിഖിതവാൻ സോഹമ്|BSBBSB: John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet: “I am a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
24. 24SANMALയേ പ്രേഷിതാസ്തേ ഫിരൂശിലോകാഃ|BSBBSB: Then the Pharisees who had been sent
25. 25SANMALതദാ തേഽപൃച്ഛൻ യദി നാഭിഷിക്തോസി ഏലിയോസി ന സ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദ്യപി നാസി ച, തർഹി ലോകാൻ മജ്ജയസി കുതഃ?BSBBSB: asked him, “Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
26. 26SANMALതതോ യോഹൻ പ്രത്യവോചത്, തോയേഽഹം മജ്ജയാമീതി സത്യം കിന്തു യം യൂയം ന ജാനീഥ താദൃശ ഏകോ ജനോ യുഷ്മാകം മധ്യ ഉപതിഷ്ഠതി|BSBBSB: “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands One you do not know.
27. 27SANMALസ മത്പശ്ചാദ് ആഗതോപി മത്പൂർവ്വം വർത്തമാന ആസീത് തസ്യ പാദുകാബന്ധനം മോചയിതുമപി നാഹം യോഗ്യോസ്മി|BSBBSB: He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
28. 28SANMALയർദ്ദനനദ്യാഃ പാരസ്ഥബൈഥബാരായാം യസ്മിൻസ്ഥാനേ യോഹനമജ്ജയത് തസ്മിന സ്ഥാനേ സർവ്വമേതദ് അഘടത|BSBBSB: All this happened at Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29. 29SANMALപരേഽഹനി യോഹൻ സ്വനികടമാഗച്ഛന്തം യിശും വിലോക്യ പ്രാവോചത് ജഗതഃ പാപമോചകമ് ഈശ്വരസ്യ മേഷശാവകം പശ്യത|BSBBSB: The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
30. 30SANMALയോ മമ പശ്ചാദാഗമിഷ്യതി സ മത്തോ ഗുരുതരഃ, യതോ ഹേതോർമത്പൂർവ്വം സോഽവർത്തത യസ്മിന്നഹം കഥാമിമാം കഥിതവാൻ സ ഏവായം|BSBBSB: This is He of whom I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’
31. 31SANMALഅപരം നാഹമേനം പ്രത്യഭിജ്ഞാതവാൻ കിന്തു ഇസ്രായേല്ലോകാ ഏനം യഥാ പരിചിന്വന്തി തദഭിപ്രായേണാഹം ജലേ മജ്ജയിതുമാഗച്ഛമ്|BSBBSB: I myself did not know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”
32. 32SANMALപുനശ്ച യോഹനപരമേകം പ്രമാണം ദത്വാ കഥിതവാൻ വിഹായസഃ കപോതവദ് അവതരന്തമാത്മാനമ് അസ്യോപര്യ്യവതിഷ്ഠന്തം ച ദൃഷ്ടവാനഹമ്|BSBBSB: Then John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove and resting on Him.
33. 33SANMALനാഹമേനം പ്രത്യഭിജ്ഞാതവാൻ ഇതി സത്യം കിന്തു യോ ജലേ മജ്ജയിതും മാം പ്രൈരയത് സ ഏവേമാം കഥാമകഥയത് യസ്യോപര്യ്യാത്മാനമ് അവതരന്തമ് അവതിഷ്ഠന്തഞ്ച ദ്രക്ഷയസി സഏവ പവിത്രേ ആത്മനി മജ്ജയിഷ്യതി|BSBBSB: I myself did not know Him, but the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is He who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
34. 34SANMALഅവസ്തന്നിരീക്ഷ്യായമ് ഈശ്വരസ്യ തനയ ഇതി പ്രമാണം ദദാമി|BSBBSB: I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
35. 35SANMALപരേഽഹനി യോഹൻ ദ്വാഭ്യാം ശിഷ്യാഭ്യാം സാർദ്ധേം തിഷ്ഠൻBSBBSB: The next day John was there again with two of his disciples.
36. 36SANMALയിശും ഗച്ഛന്തം വിലോക്യ ഗദിതവാൻ, ഈശ്വരസ്യ മേഷശാവകം പശ്യതം|BSBBSB: When he saw Jesus walking by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”
37. 37SANMALഇമാം കഥാം ശ്രുത്വാ ദ്വൗ ശിഷ്യൗ യീശോഃ പശ്ചാദ് ഈയതുഃ|BSBBSB: And when the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.
38. 38SANMALതതോ യീശുഃ പരാവൃത്യ തൗ പശ്ചാദ് ആഗച്ഛന്തൗ ദൃഷ്ട്വാ പൃഷ്ടവാൻ യുവാം കിം ഗവേശയഥഃ? താവപൃച്ഛതാം ഹേ രബ്ബി അർഥാത് ഹേ ഗുരോ ഭവാൻ കുത്ര തിഷ്ഠതി?BSBBSB: Jesus turned and saw them following. “What do you want?” He asked. They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are You staying?”
39. 39SANMALതതഃ സോവാദിത് ഏത്യ പശ്യതം| തതോ ദിവസസ്യ തൃതീയപ്രഹരസ്യ ഗതത്വാത് തൗ തദ്ദിനം തസ്യ സങ്ഗേഽസ്ഥാതാം|BSBBSB: “Come and see,” He replied. So they went and saw where He was staying, and spent that day with Him. It was about the tenth hour.
40. 40SANMALയൗ ദ്വൗ യോഹനോ വാക്യം ശ്രുത്വാ യിശോഃ പശ്ചാദ് ആഗമതാം തയോഃ ശിമോൻപിതരസ്യ ഭ്രാതാ ആന്ദ്രിയഃBSBBSB: Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John’s testimony and followed Jesus.
41. 41SANMALസ ഇത്വാ പ്രഥമം നിജസോദരം ശിമോനം സാക്ഷാത്പ്രാപ്യ കഥിതവാൻ വയം ഖ്രീഷ്ടമ് അർഥാത് അഭിഷിക്തപുരുഷം സാക്ഷാത്കൃതവന്തഃ|BSBBSB: He first found his brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated as Christ).
42. 42SANMALപശ്ചാത് സ തം യിശോഃ സമീപമ് ആനയത്| തദാ യീശുസ്തം ദൃഷ്ട്വാവദത് ത്വം യൂനസഃ പുത്രഃ ശിമോൻ കിന്തു ത്വന്നാമധേയം കൈഫാഃ വാ പിതരഃ അർഥാത് പ്രസ്തരോ ഭവിഷ്യതി|BSBBSB: Andrew brought him to Jesus, who looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated as Peter).
43. 43SANMALപരേഽഹനി യീശൗ ഗാലീലം ഗന്തും നിശ്ചിതചേതസി സതി ഫിലിപനാമാനം ജനം സാക്ഷാത്പ്രാപ്യാവോചത് മമ പശ്ചാദ് ആഗച്ഛ|BSBBSB: The next day Jesus decided to set out for Galilee. Finding Philip, He told him, “Follow Me.”
44. 44SANMALബൈത്സൈദാനാമ്നി യസ്മിൻ ഗ്രാമേ പിതരാന്ദ്രിയയോർവാസ ആസീത് തസ്മിൻ ഗ്രാമേ തസ്യ ഫിലിപസ്യ വസതിരാസീത്|BSBBSB: Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the same town as Andrew and Peter.
45. 45SANMALപശ്ചാത് ഫിലിപോ നിഥനേലം സാക്ഷാത്പ്രാപ്യാവദത് മൂസാ വ്യവസ്ഥാ ഗ്രന്ഥേ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനാം ഗ്രന്ഥേഷു ച യസ്യാഖ്യാനം ലിഖിതമാസ്തേ തം യൂഷഫഃ പുത്രം നാസരതീയം യീശും സാക്ഷാദ് അകാർഷ്മ വയം|BSBBSB: Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law, the One the prophets foretold—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46. 46SANMALതദാ നിഥനേൽ കഥിതവാൻ നാസരന്നഗരാത കിം കശ്ചിദുത്തമ ഉത്പന്തും ശക്നോതി? തതഃ ഫിലിപോ ഽവോചത് ഏത്യ പശ്യ|BSBBSB: “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.
47. 47SANMALഅപരഞ്ച യീശുഃ സ്വസ്യ സമീപം തമ് ആഗച്ഛന്തം ദൃഷ്ട്വാ വ്യാഹൃതവാൻ, പശ്യായം നിഷ്കപടഃ സത്യ ഇസ്രായേല്ലോകഃ|BSBBSB: When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, He said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit.”
48. 48SANMALതതഃ സോവദദ്, ഭവാൻ മാം കഥം പ്രത്യഭിജാനാതി? യീശുരവാദീത് ഫിലിപസ്യ ആഹ്വാനാത് പൂർവ്വം യദാ ത്വമുഡുമ്ബരസ്യ തരോർമൂലേഽസ്ഥാസ്തദാ ത്വാമദർശമ്|BSBBSB: “How do You know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
49. 49SANMALനിഥനേൽ അചകഥത്, ഹേ ഗുരോ ഭവാൻ നിതാന്തമ് ഈശ്വരസ്യ പുത്രോസി, ഭവാൻ ഇസ്രായേല്വംശസ്യ രാജാ|BSBBSB: “Rabbi,” Nathanael answered, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
50. 50SANMALതതോ യീശു ർവ്യാഹരത്, ത്വാമുഡുമ്ബരസ്യ പാദപസ്യ മൂലേ ദൃഷ്ടവാനാഹം മമൈതസ്മാദ്വാക്യാത് കിം ത്വം വ്യശ്വസീഃ? ഏതസ്മാദപ്യാശ്ചര്യ്യാണി കാര്യ്യാണി ദ്രക്ഷ്യസി|BSBBSB: Jesus said to him, “Do you believe just because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”
51. 51SANMALഅന്യച്ചാവാദീദ് യുഷ്മാനഹം യഥാർഥം വദാമി, ഇതഃ പരം മോചിതേ മേഘദ്വാരേ തസ്മാന്മനുജസൂനുനാ ഈശ്വരസ്യ ദൂതഗണമ് അവരോഹന്തമാരോഹന്തഞ്ച ദ്രക്ഷ്യഥ|BSBBSB: Then He declared, “Truly, truly, I tell you, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
