And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

5. 5SANVELvaya.m yaa.m vaarttaa.m tasmaat "srutvaa yu.smaan j naapayaama.h seyam| ii"svaro jyotistasmin andhakaarasya le"so.api naasti|BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6SANVELvaya.m tena sahaa.m"sina iti gaditvaa yadyandhaakaare caraamastarhi satyaacaari.no na santo .an.rtavaadino bhavaama.h|BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7SANVELkintu sa yathaa jyoti.si varttate tathaa vayamapi yadi jyoti.si caraamastarhi paraspara.m sahabhaagino bhavaamastasya putrasya yii"sukhrii.s.tasya rudhira ncaasmaan sarvvasmaat paapaat "suddhayati|BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

10. 10SANVELvayam ak.rtapaapaa iti yadi vadaamastarhi tam an.rtavaadina.m kurmmastasya vaakya ncaasmaakam antare na vidyate|BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
