Amos 3 (SPABLL)

1Escuchen esta palabra que Yahvé ha pronunciado contra ustedes, hijos de Israel, contra toda la familia que saqué de la tierra de Egipto:Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt:

2“Solo a ustedes los he elegido de entre todas las familias de la tierra; por eso, los castigaré por todos sus pecados”.“Only you have I known from all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.”

3¿Caminan dos juntos si no se han puesto de acuerdo?Can two walk together without agreeing where to go?

4¿Ruge el león en la selva si no tiene una presa? ¿Gruñe el cachorro de león desde su cueva si no ha atrapado nada?Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl in his den if he has caught nothing?

5¿Cae un pájaro en una trampa en el suelo si no se le ha puesto un cebo? ¿Se dispara una trampa del suelo si no ha atrapado algo?Does a bird land in a snare where no bait has been set? Does a trap spring from the ground when it has nothing to catch?

6¿Suena la trompeta de alarma en una ciudad sin que la gente se asuste? ¿Le sucede un mal a una ciudad sin que Yahvé lo haya enviado?If a ram’s horn sounds in a city, do the people not tremble? If calamity comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it?

7Ciertamente, el Señor Yahvé no hace nada sin revelar su plan a sus siervos los profetas.Surely the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.

8El león ha rugido, ¿quién no tendrá miedo? El Señor Yahvé ha hablado, ¿quién puede negarse a profetizar?The lion has roared—who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken—who will not prophesy?

9Anuncien en los palacios de Asdod y en los palacios de Egipto: “Reúnanse en los montes de Samaria, y vean el gran desorden que hay en ella, y la opresión que sufre su pueblo”.Proclaim to the citadels of Ashdod and to the citadels of Egypt: “Assemble on the mountains of Samaria; see the great unrest in the city and the acts of oppression in her midst.”

10“Ellos no saben hacer lo correcto”, dice Yahvé, “pues acumulan en sus palacios lo que roban y arrebatan”.“For they know not how to do right,” declares the LORD. “They store up violence and destruction in their citadels.”

11Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahvé: “Un enemigo invadirá el país, derribará tus fortalezas y saqueará tus palacios”.Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: “An enemy will surround the land; he will pull down your strongholds and plunder your citadels.”

12Así dice Yahvé: “Como el pastor rescata de la boca del león apenas dos patas o un pedazo de oreja, así serán rescatados los hijos de Israel que viven en Samaria, los que ahora se reclinan en la esquina de un sofá y en cojines de seda”.This is what the LORD says: “As the shepherd snatches from the mouth of the lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so the Israelites dwelling in Samaria will be rescued having just the corner of a bed or the cushion of a couch.

13“Escuchen y den testimonio contra la familia de Jacob”, dice el Señor Yahvé, el Dios de los Ejércitos:Hear and testify against the house of Jacob, declares the Lord GOD, the God of Hosts.

14“El día en que yo pida cuentas a Israel por sus pecados, destruiré también los altares de Betel; los cuernos del altar serán cortados y caerán por tierra.On the day I punish Israel for their transgressions, I will visit destruction on the altars of Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off, and they will fall to the ground.

15Derribaré tanto la casa de invierno como la de verano; las casas decoradas con marfil serán destruidas, y las grandes mansiones llegarán a su fin”, dice Yahvé.I will tear down the winter house along with the summer house; the houses of ivory will also perish, and the great houses will come to an end,” declares the LORD.
