Genesis 45 (SPABLL)

1Entonces José ya no pudo controlarse delante de sus servidores, y gritó: “¡Que salgan todos de aquí!” Así que no quedó nadie con él cuando José se dio a conocer a sus hermanos.Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he cried out, “Send everyone away from me!” So none of them were with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers.

2Se puso a llorar a gritos. Los egipcios lo oyeron, y la noticia llegó hasta el palacio del faraón.But he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard him, and Pharaoh’s household soon heard of it.

3José les dijo a sus hermanos: “¡Yo soy José! ¿Todavía vive mi padre?” Pero sus hermanos estaban tan aterrados de estar frente a él, que no pudieron responderle.Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still alive?” But they were unable to answer him, because they were terrified in his presence.

4Entonces José les dijo: “Por favor, acérquense a mí”. Y cuando ellos se acercaron, él añadió: “Yo soy José, su hermano, al que ustedes vendieron a Egipto.Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come near me.” And they did so. “I am Joseph, your brother,” he said, “the one you sold into Egypt!

5Pero ahora, no se entristezcan ni se reprochen el haberme vendido acá, pues Dios me envió delante de ustedes para salvarles la vida.And now, do not be distressed or angry with yourselves that you sold me into this place, because it was to save lives that God sent me before you.

6Ya van dos años de hambre en el país, y aún quedan cinco años en los que no habrá siembra ni cosecha.For the famine has covered the land these two years, and there will be five more years without plowing or harvesting.

7Dios me envió delante de ustedes para asegurarles descendencia en la tierra, y para salvarles la vida mediante una gran liberación.God sent me before you to preserve you as a remnant on the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

8Así que no fueron ustedes los que me mandaron acá, sino Dios. Él me ha convertido en padre para el faraón, en amo de toda su casa y en gobernador de toda la tierra de Egipto.Therefore it was not you who sent me here, but God, who has made me a father to Pharaoh—lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

9Apresúrense, regresen a donde está mi padre y díganle: ‘Esto dice tu hijo José: “Dios me ha puesto como señor de todo Egipto. Baja a verme de inmediato; no te demores.Now return quickly to my father and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.

10Vivirás en la región de Gosén, y estarás cerca de mí, junto con tus hijos, tus nietos, tus ovejas, tus vacas y todo lo que tienes.You shall settle in the land of Goshen and be near me—you and your children and grandchildren, your flocks and herds, and everything you own.

11Yo te proveeré de todo allí, porque aún faltan cinco años de hambre. Así no caerán en la miseria tú, ni tu familia, ni los que dependen de ti”’.And there I will provide for you, because there will be five more years of famine. Otherwise, you and your household and everything you own will come to destitution.’

12Ustedes mismos y mi hermano Benjamín son testigos de que soy yo mismo quien les está hablando.Behold! You and my brother Benjamin can see that I, Joseph, am the one speaking with you.

13Cuéntenle a mi padre de todos los honores que tengo en Egipto y de todo lo que han visto. ¡Y apresúrense a traer a mi padre acá!”Tell my father about all my splendor in Egypt and everything you have seen. And bring my father down here quickly.”

14Luego José abrazó a su hermano Benjamín y se echó a llorar, y Benjamín también lloró abrazado a él.Then Joseph threw his arms around his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept as they embraced.

15Después José besó a todos sus hermanos y lloró con ellos. Sólo entonces sus hermanos se atrevieron a hablar con él.Joseph kissed each of his brothers as he wept over them. And afterward his brothers talked with him.

16Cuando la noticia de que los hermanos de José habían llegado se escuchó en el palacio, el faraón y sus funcionarios se alegraron mucho.When the news reached Pharaoh’s house that Joseph’s brothers had come, Pharaoh and his servants were pleased.

17Y el faraón le dijo a José: “Diles a tus hermanos que hagan lo siguiente: ‘Carguen sus animales y regresen a la tierra de Canaán.Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do as follows: Load your animals and return to the land of Canaan.

18Tomen a su padre y a sus familias, y vengan a verme. Yo les daré lo mejor de la tierra de Egipto, y comerán de la abundancia del país’.Then bring your father and your families and return to me. I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat from the fat of the land.’

19También ordénales esto: ‘Llévense carretas de Egipto para sus niños y sus esposas, y traigan a su padre.You are also directed to tell them: ‘Take wagons from the land of Egypt for your young children and your wives, and bring your father and come back.

20No se preocupen por las cosas que dejen allá, porque lo mejor de todo Egipto será para ustedes’”.But pay no regard to your belongings, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’”

21Así lo hicieron los hijos de Israel. José les dio carretas, tal como el faraón lo había ordenado, y también les dio provisiones para el viaje.So the sons of Israel did as they were told. Joseph gave them wagons as Pharaoh had instructed, and he also gave them provisions for their journey.

22A cada uno de ellos le regaló ropa nueva, pero a Benjamín le dio trescientas monedas de plata y cinco mudas de ropa.He gave new garments to each of them, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and five sets of clothes.

23A su padre le envió diez burros cargados con lo mejor de Egipto, y diez burras cargadas de trigo, pan y provisiones para el viaje de su padre.And he sent to his father the following: ten donkeys loaded with the best of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and provisions for his father’s journey.

24Luego despidió a sus hermanos, y al verlos partir, les advirtió: “¡No se vayan peleando por el camino!”Then Joseph sent his brothers on their way, and as they were leaving, he said to them, “Do not quarrel on the way!”

25Así salieron de Egipto y llegaron a la tierra de Canaán, a donde estaba su padre Jacob.So the brothers went up out of Egypt and came to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan.

26Cuando le dieron la noticia: “¡José todavía está vivo, y es el gobernador de todo Egipto!”, el corazón de Jacob se paralizó, porque no podía creerles.“Joseph is still alive,” they said, “and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt!” But Jacob was stunned, for he did not believe them.

27Pero cuando le contaron todo lo que José les había dicho, y vio las carretas que José había enviado para llevarlo, el espíritu de Jacob revivió.However, when they relayed all that Joseph had told them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him back, the spirit of their father Jacob was revived.

28Entonces Israel exclamó: “¡Basta! ¡Mi hijo José todavía está vivo! Iré a verlo antes de morirme”.“Enough!” declared Israel. “My son Joseph is still alive! I will go to see him before I die.”
