1. 1SPABLLEscuchen la palabra de Yahvé, israelitas, porque Yahvé tiene una acusación contra los habitantes del país: “Pues no hay verdad, ni lealtad, ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.BSBBSB: Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land!
2. 2SPABLLAbundan las maldiciones, las mentiras, los asesinatos, los robos y los adulterios; rompen todos los límites, y un asesinato sigue a otro.BSBBSB: Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another.
3. 3SPABLLPor lo tanto, la tierra estará de luto, y todo el que habite en ella se consumirá, junto con los animales del campo y las aves del cielo; ¡hasta los peces del mar morirán!BSBBSB: Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.
4. 4SPABLL“Pero que nadie presente acusaciones, ni que nadie reprenda a otro; porque tu pueblo es como los que se pelean con el sacerdote.BSBBSB: But let no man contend; let no man offer reproof; for your people are like those who contend with a priest.
5. 5SPABLLTropezarás en pleno día, y el profeta también tropezará contigo de noche; y destruiré a tu madre.BSBBSB: You will stumble by day, and the prophet will stumble with you by night; so I will destroy your mother—
6. 6SPABLLMi pueblo es destruido por falta de conocimiento. Como has rechazado el conocimiento, yo también te rechazaré a ti, para que no seas mi sacerdote. Y como has olvidado la ley de tu Dios, yo también me olvidaré de tus hijos.BSBBSB: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you as My priests. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
7. 7SPABLLMientras más se multiplicaron, más pecaron contra mí; cambiaré su gloria en vergüenza.BSBBSB: The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me; they exchanged their Glory for a thing of disgrace.
8. 8SPABLLSe alimentan de los pecados de mi pueblo, y ponen su corazón en su maldad.BSBBSB: They feed on the sins of My people and set their hearts on iniquity.
9. 9SPABLLY al pueblo le irá igual que al sacerdote; los castigaré por su mala conducta, y les daré su merecido por sus acciones.BSBBSB: And it shall be like people, like priest. I will punish both of them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.
10. 10SPABLLComerán, pero no quedarán satisfechos; se prostituirán, pero no se multiplicarán, porque han dejado de obedecer a Yahvé.BSBBSB: They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be promiscuous but not multiply. For they have abandoned the LORD to give themselves
11. 11SPABLLLa prostitución, el vino y el vino nuevo les quitan el buen juicio.BSBBSB: to promiscuity, wine, and new wine, which take away understanding.
12. 12SPABLLMi pueblo le consulta a su ídolo de madera, y un pedazo de palo le responde. Pues un espíritu de prostitución los ha descarriado, y se han prostituido alejándose de su Dios.BSBBSB: My people consult their wooden idols, and their divining rods inform them. For a spirit of prostitution leads them astray and they have played the harlot against their God.
13. 13SPABLLOfrecen sacrificios en las cumbres de las montañas, y queman incienso en las colinas, bajo las encinas, los álamos y los terebintos, porque su sombra es agradable. Por eso sus hijas se prostituyen, y sus nueras cometen adulterio.BSBBSB: They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak, poplar, and terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters turn to prostitution and your daughters-in-law to adultery.
14. 14SPABLLNo castigaré a sus hijas cuando se prostituyan, ni a sus nueras cuando cometan adulterio; porque los hombres mismos se van con prostitutas, y ofrecen sacrificios con las prostitutas del templo; ¡así es como un pueblo sin entendimiento se encamina a la ruina!BSBBSB: I will not punish your daughters when they prostitute themselves, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery. For the men themselves go off with prostitutes and offer sacrifices with shrine prostitutes. So a people without understanding will come to ruin.
15. 15SPABLL“Aunque tú, Israel, te prostituyas, ¡que Judá no se haga culpable! No vayan a Gilgal, ni suban a Bet-avén, ni juren diciendo: ‘Vive Yahvé’.BSBBSB: Though you prostitute yourself, O Israel, may Judah avoid such guilt! Do not journey to Gilgal, do not go up to Beth-aven, and do not swear on oath, ‘As surely as the LORD lives!’
16. 16SPABLLPorque Israel se ha vuelto tan terco como una novilla terca. ¿Cómo podrá Yahvé pastorearlos como a corderos en un prado abierto?BSBBSB: For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn heifer. Can the LORD now shepherd them like lambs in an open meadow?
17. 17SPABLLEfraín se ha unido a los ídolos. ¡Déjenlo en paz!BSBBSB: Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone!
18. 18SPABLLCuando se les acaba la bebida, se entregan por completo a la prostitución; a sus gobernantes les encanta la deshonra.BSBBSB: When their liquor is gone, they turn to prostitution; their rulers dearly love disgrace.
19. 19SPABLLEl viento los envolverá en sus alas, y se avergonzarán de sus sacrificios.BSBBSB: The whirlwind has wrapped them in its wings, and their sacrifices will bring them shame.
