John 2 (SPABLL)

1Al tercer día, hubo una boda en Caná de Galilea. La madre de Jesús estaba allí.On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

2También Jesús fue invitado, con sus discípulos, a la boda.and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding.

3Cuando se acabó el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: “No tienen vino”.When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to Him, “They have no more wine.”

4Jesús le dijo: “Mujer, ¿qué tiene que ver eso contigo y conmigo? Todavía no ha llegado mi hora”.“Woman, what is that to you and to Me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

5Su madre dijo a los sirvientes: “Hagan lo que él les diga”.His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”

6Había allí seis tinajas de piedra, colocadas según la costumbre judía de purificación, y en cada una cabían dos o tres metretas.Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of purification. Each could hold from twenty to thirty gallons.

7Jesús les dijo: “Llenen de agua las tinajas”. Así que las llenaron hasta el borde.Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim.

8Les dijo: “Saquen ahora un poco y llévenselo al encargado del banquete”. Así que se lo llevaron.“Now draw some out,” He said, “and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so,

9Cuando el encargado del banquete probó el agua convertida en vino, y no sabía de dónde procedía (pero los sirvientes que habían sacado el agua sí lo sabían), el encargado llamó al novioand the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not know where it was from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside

10y le dijo: “Todos sirven primero el vino bueno, y cuando los invitados han bebido libremente, entonces el que es peor. ¡Pero tú has guardado el vino bueno hasta ahora!”and said, “Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the cheap wine after the guests are drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!”

11Este principio de sus milagros lo hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y reveló su gloria; y sus discípulos creyeron en él.Jesus performed this, the first of His signs, at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

12Después de esto, bajó a Capernaúm, él y su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos; y se quedaron allí unos días.After this, He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and His disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

13Se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos, y Jesús subió a Jerusalén.When the Jewish Passover was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14Encontró en el templo a los que vendían bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas sentados.In the temple courts He found men selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and money changers seated at their tables.

15Hizo un látigo de cuerdas y expulsó a todos del templo, tanto a las ovejas como a los bueyes; y a los cambistas les desparramó el dinero y derribó sus mesas.So He made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle. He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

16A los que vendían las palomas les dijo: “¡Saquen esto de aquí! No hagan de la casa de mi Padre un mercado”.To those selling doves He said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn My Father’s house into a marketplace!”

17Sus discípulos recordaron que estaba escrito: “El celo por tu casa me consumirá”.His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for Your house will consume Me.”

18Los judíos le respondieron: “¿Qué señal nos muestras, ya que haces estas cosas?”On account of this, the Jews demanded, “What sign can You show us to prove Your authority to do these things?”

19Jesús les respondió: “Destruyan este templo y en tres días lo levantaré”.Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.”

20Los judíos, por tanto, dijeron: “¡Se necesitaron cuarenta y seis años para construir este templo! ¿Y tú lo levantarás en tres días?”“This temple took forty-six years to build,” the Jews replied, “and You are going to raise it up in three days?”

21Pero él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.But Jesus was speaking about the temple of His body.

22Por eso, cuando resucitó de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto, y creyeron en la Escritura y en la palabra que Jesús había dicho.After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

23Estando en Jerusalén en la Pascua, durante la fiesta, muchos creyeron en su nombre, observando las señales que hacía.While He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the signs He was doing and believed in His name.

24Pero Jesús no se confiaba de ellos, porque conocía a todos,But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, for He knew them all.

25y porque no necesitaba que nadie diera testimonio acerca del hombre, pues él mismo sabía lo que había en el hombre.He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.
