Matthew 19 (SPABLL)

1Cuando Jesús terminó de decir estas cosas, salió de Galilea y se fue a la región de Judea, al otro lado del río Jordán.When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

2Grandes multitudes lo siguieron, y él sanó a los enfermos allí.Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.

3Algunos fariseos se le acercaron para ponerlo a prueba, y le preguntaron: “¿Está permitido que un hombre se divorcie de su esposa por cualquier motivo?”Then some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”

4Él les respondió: “¿Acaso no han leído que en el principio el Creador los hizo hombre y mujer,Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’

5y dijo: “Por eso el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y los dos serán un solo ser”?and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

6Así que ya no son dos, sino uno solo. Por lo tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, que no lo separe el hombre”.So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

7Le preguntaron: “¿Por qué entonces mandó Moisés que el hombre le diera a la mujer un certificado de divorcio y la despidiera?”“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

8Jesús les contestó: “Moisés les permitió divorciarse de sus esposas por lo tercos que son ustedes; pero al principio no fue así.Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart. But it was not this way from the beginning.

9Y les digo que el que se divorcia de su esposa, a no ser por causa de infidelidad, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio; y el que se casa con la divorciada, comete adulterio”.Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

10Sus discípulos le dijeron: “Si así es la situación entre el esposo y la esposa, es mejor no casarse”.His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.”

11Pero él les dijo: “No todos pueden entender esta enseñanza, sino solo aquellos a quienes Dios se lo concede.“Not everyone can accept this word,” He replied, “but only those to whom it has been given.

12Porque hay hombres que nacen incapacitados para el matrimonio; otros son incapacitados por los hombres, y otros renuncian a casarse por causa del Reino de los Cielos. El que pueda aceptar esto, que lo acepte”.For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

13Entonces le llevaron unos niños a Jesús para que pusiera las manos sobre ellos y orara, pero los discípulos regañaban a quienes los llevaban.Then little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

14Jesús les dijo: “Dejen a los niños y no les impidan que se acerquen a mí, porque el Reino de los Cielos es de los que son como ellos”.But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

15Después de poner las manos sobre ellos, se fue de allí.And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there.

16Resulta que un joven se le acercó y le preguntó: “Maestro bueno, ¿qué cosa buena debo hacer para tener la vida eterna?”Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?”

17Jesús le contestó: “¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Solo Dios es bueno. Pero si quieres entrar en la vida, obedece los mandamientos”.“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

18“¿Cuáles?”, preguntó el joven. Jesús le dijo: “‘No mates, no cometas adulterio, no robes, no des falso testimonio,“Which ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness,

19honra a tu padre y a tu madre’ y ‘ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo’”.honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’”

20El joven le dijo: “Todo eso lo he cumplido desde mi juventud. ¿Qué más me falta?”“All these I have kept,” said the young man. “What do I still lack?”

21Jesús le dijo: “Si quieres ser perfecto, ve, vende lo que tienes y reparte el dinero entre los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el cielo. Luego ven y sígueme”.Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

22Cuando el joven oyó esto, se fue muy triste, porque era muy rico.When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.

23Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos: “Les aseguro que es muy difícil que un rico entre en el Reino de los Cielos.Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

24De hecho, les digo que es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja, que un rico entre en el Reino de Dios”.Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

25Al oír esto, los discípulos se asombraron muchísimo y decían: “Entonces, ¿quién podrá salvarse?”When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”

26Jesús los miró y les dijo: “Para los hombres esto es imposible, pero para Dios todo es posible”.Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

27Pedro le dijo: “Nosotros hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido. ¿Qué vamos a recibir?”“Look,” Peter replied, “we have left everything to follow You. What then will there be for us?”

28Jesús les respondió: “Les aseguro que cuando todo sea renovado y el Hijo del Hombre se siente en su trono glorioso, ustedes que me han seguido también se sentarán en doce tronos para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29Y todo el que haya dejado casas, hermanos, hermanas, padre, madre, esposa, hijos o tierras por mi causa, recibirá cien veces más y heredará la vida eterna.And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.

30Pero muchos que ahora son los primeros, serán los últimos; y los últimos, serán los primeros.But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.
