2 STF Treba stoga da nadglednik bude besprijekoran, jedne ћene muћ, trijezan, razuman, sreden, gostoljubiv, sposoban poucavati, BSB BSB: An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
3 STF ne vinu sklon, ne nasilan nego popustljiv, ne ratoboran, ne srebroljubac; BSB BSB: not dependent on wine, not violent but gentle, peaceable, and free of the love of money.
4 STF da svojom kucom dobro upravlja i sinove drћi u pokornosti sa svom ozbiljnoљcu- BSB BSB: An overseer must manage his own household well and keep his children under control, with complete dignity.
5 STF a ne zna li netko svojom kucom upravljati, kako ce se brinuti za Crkvu Boћju?- BSB BSB: For if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how can he care for the church of God?
6 STF ne novoobracenik da se ne bi uzoholio i pao pod osudu davlovu. BSB BSB: He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same condemnation as the devil.
7 STF A treba da ima i lijepo svjedocanstvo od onih vani, da ne bi u rug upao i zamku davlovu. BSB BSB: Furthermore, he must have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the snare of the devil.
