3 STF Blagoslovljen Bog i Otac Gospodina naљega Isusa Krista, Otac milosrda i Bog svake utjehe! BSB BSB: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4 STF On nas tjeљi u svakoj naљoj nevolji da bismo i mi sve koji su u nevolji mogli tjeљiti onom utjehom kojom nas same tjeљi Bog. BSB BSB: who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
5 STF Jer kao љto su obilate patnje Kristove u nama, tako je po Kristu obilata i utjeha naљa. BSB BSB: For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
6 STF Bili mi nevoljama pritisnuti za vaљu je to utjehu i spasenje; bili utjeљeni, za vaљu je utjehu- djelotvornu: da strpljivo podnesete iste patnje koje i mi podnosimo. BSB BSB: If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which accomplishes in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we experience.
7 STF I tako je stamena nada naљa o vama jer znamo: kao љto ste zajednicari patnja tako ste i utjehe. BSB BSB: And our hope for you is sure, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you will share in our comfort.
8 STF Ne bismo doista htjeli, braco, da ne znate za nevolju koja nas je snaљla u Aziji. Bijasmo prekomjerno, preko snage, optereceni te smo vec strepili i za ћivot. BSB BSB: We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the hardships we encountered in the province of Asia. We were under a burden far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.
9 STF Ali u sebi prihvatismo i smrtnu osudu da se ne bismo uzdali u same sebe, nego u Boga koji uskrisuje mrtve. BSB BSB: Indeed, we felt we were under the sentence of death, in order that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God, who raises the dead.
10 STF On nas je od takve smrti izbavio i izbavit ce nas; u njega se uzdamo, on ce nas i dalje izbavljati. BSB BSB: He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. In Him we have placed our hope that He will yet again deliver us,
11 STF A i vi cete nam pomagati molitvom da bi mnogi za nas zahvaljivali Bogu na milosti koja nam je darovana posredovanjem mnogih. BSB BSB: as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the favor shown us in answer to their prayers.
12 STF A ovo je naљa slava: svjedocansto naљe savjesti da smo u svijetu ћivjeli- osobito prema vama- u svetosti i iskrenosti Boћjoj, ne u mudrosti tjelesnoj, nego u Boћjoj milosti. BSB BSB: For this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in relation to you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God—not in worldly wisdom, but in the grace of God.
13 STF Ta i ne piљemo vam drugo doli ovo љto citate i razumijete; a nadam se da cete i do kraja razumjeti, BSB BSB: For we do not write you anything that is beyond your ability to read and understand. And I hope that you will understand us completely,
14 STF kao љto nas djelomicno i razumjeste: da smo mi vaљa slava kao i vi naљa u Dan Gospodina naљega Isusa. BSB BSB: as you have already understood us in part, that you may boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15 STF U tom uvjerenju namjeravao sam najprije doci k vama BSB BSB: Confident of this, I planned to visit you first, so that you might receive a double blessing.
16 STF i preko vas prijeci u Makedoniju pa se opet, da biste imali i drugu milost, iz Makedonije vratiti k vama da me vi otpratite u Judeju. BSB BSB: I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to return to you from Macedonia, and then to have you help me on my way to Judea.
17 STF Pa jesam li moћda bio lakomislen kad sam to namjeravao? Ili љto namjeravam, po tijelu namjeravam te je u mene istodobno "Da, da!" i "Ne, ne!"? BSB BSB: When I planned this, did I do it carelessly? Or do I make my plans by human standards, so as to say “Yes, yes” and also “No, no”?
18 STF Bog je svjedok: naљa rijec vama nije "Da!" i "Ne!" BSB BSB: But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.”
19 STF jer Sin Boћji, Isus Krist, koga mi- ja i Silvan i Timotej- vama navijestismo nije bio "Da!" i "Ne!" nego u njemu bijaљe "Da!". BSB BSB: For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed among you by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but in Him it has always been “Yes.”
20 STF Doista, sva obecanja Boћja u njemu su "Da!". I stoga po njemu i naљ "Amen!" Bogu na slavu! BSB BSB: For all the promises of God are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, our “Amen” is spoken to the glory of God.
21 STF A Bog je onaj koji nas zajedno s vama utvrduje za Krista; on nas i pomaza, BSB BSB: Now it is God who establishes both us and you in Christ. He anointed us,
22 STF on nas i zapecati i u srca naљa dade zalog- Duha. BSB BSB: placed His seal on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a pledge of what is to come.
23 STF A ja prizivljem Boga za svjedoka: duљe mi, da vas poљtedim, nisam viљe dolazio u Korint. BSB BSB: I call God as my witness that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth.
24 STF Ta mi nismo gospodari vaљe vjere, nego suradnici vaљe radosti. Ta u vjeri ste postojani. BSB BSB: Not that we lord it over your faith, but we are fellow workers with you for your joy, because it is by faith that you stand firm.
