SDK kao što nam predaše koji isprva sami videše i sluge reči biše: BSB BSB: just as they were handed down to us by the initial eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
SDK Namislih i ja, ispitavši sve od početka, po redu pisati tebi, čestiti Teofile, BSB BSB: Therefore, having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
BSB BSB: so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
SDK A behu oboje pravedni pred Bogom, i življahu u svemu po zapovestima i uredbama Gospodnjim bez mane. BSB BSB: Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and decrees of the Lord.
SDK I ne imahu dece; jer Jelisaveta beše nerotkinja, i behu oboje već stari. BSB BSB: But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well along in years.
SDK I dogodi se, kad on služaše po svom redu pred Bogom, BSB BSB: One day while Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,
BSB BSB: he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
SDK I sve mnoštvo naroda beše napolju i moljaše se Bogu u vreme kađenja. BSB BSB: And at the hour of the incense offering, the whole congregation was praying outside.
BSB BSB: Just then an angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
SDK I kad ga vide Zarija uplaši se i strah napade na nj. BSB BSB: When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear.
SDK A anđeo reče mu: Ne boj se, Zarija; jer je uslišena tvoja molitva: i žena tvoja Jelisaveta rodiće ti sina, i nadeni mu ime Jovan. BSB BSB: But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
SDK I biće tebi radost i veselje, i mnogi će se obradovati njegovom rođenju. BSB BSB: He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice at his birth,
SDK Jer će biti veliki pred Bogom, i neće piti vino ni siker; i napuniće se Duha Svetog još u utrobi matere svoje; BSB BSB: for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He shall never take wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.
SDK i mnoge će sinove Izrailjeve obratiti ka Gospodu Bogu njihovom; BSB BSB: Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to the Lord their God.
SDK I reče Zarija anđelu: Po čemu ću ja to poznati? Jer sam star i žena je moja vremenita. BSB BSB: “How can I be sure of this?” Zechariah asked the angel. “I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”
BSB BSB: “I am Gabriel,” replied the angel. “I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.
BSB BSB: And now you will be silent and unable to speak until the day this comes to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled at their proper time.”
BSB BSB: Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he took so long in the temple.
BSB BSB: When he came out and was unable to speak to them, they realized he had seen a vision in the temple. He kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.
SDK I kad se navršiše dani njegove službe otide kući svojoj. BSB BSB: And when the days of his service were complete, he returned home.
SDK A posle ovih dana, zatrudne Jelisaveta žena njegova, i krijaše se pet meseci govoreći: BSB BSB: After these days, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. She declared,
SDK Tako mi učini Gospod u dane ove u koje pogleda na me da me izbavi od ukora među ljudima. BSB BSB: “The Lord has done this for me. In these days He has shown me favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”
BSB BSB: to a virgin pledged in marriage to a man named Joseph, who was of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary.
SDK I ušavši k njoj anđeo reče: Raduj se, blagodatna! Gospod je s tobom, blagoslovena si ti među ženama. BSB BSB: The angel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
BSB BSB: Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
SDK I reče joj anđeo: Ne boj se, Marija! Jer si našla milost u Boga. BSB BSB: So the angel told her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
SDK I evo zatrudnećeš, i rodićeš Sina, i nadeni Mu ime Isus. BSB BSB: Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus.
SDK On će biti veliki, i nazvaće se Sin Najvišega, i daće Mu Gospod Bog presto Davida oca Njegovog; BSB BSB: He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,
SDK i carovaće u domu Jakovljevom vavek, i carstvu Njegovom neće biti kraja. BSB BSB: and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end!”
BSB BSB: The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.
SDK I evo Jelisaveta, tvoja tetka, i ona zatrudne sinom u starosti svojoj, i ovo je šesti mesec njoj, koju zovu nerotkinjom. BSB BSB: Look, even Elizabeth your relative has conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called barren is in her sixth month.
BSB BSB: For no word from God will ever fail.”
SDK A Marija ustavši onih dana, otide brzo u gornju zemlju, u grad Judin. BSB BSB: In those days Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judah,
SDK I uđe u kuću Zarijinu, i pozdravi se s Jelisavetom. BSB BSB: where she entered the home of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
SDK I kad Jelisaveta ču čestitanje Marijino, zaigra dete u utrobi njenoj, i Jelisaveta se napuni Duha Svetog, BSB BSB: When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
SDK i povika zdravo i reče: Blagoslovena si ti među ženama, i blagosloven je plod utrobe tvoje. BSB BSB: In a loud voice she exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
SDK I otkud meni ovo da dođe mati Gospoda mog k meni? BSB BSB: And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
SDK Jer gle, kad dođe glas čestitanja tvog u uši moje, zaigra dete radosno u utrobi mojoj. BSB BSB: For as soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
SDK I blago onoj koja verova, jer će se izvršiti šta joj kaza Gospod. BSB BSB: Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord’s word to her will be fulfilled.”
SDK I obradova se duh moj Bogu Spasu mom, BSB BSB: and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
SDK Što mi učini veličinu silni, i sveto ime Njegovo; BSB BSB: For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is His name.
BSB BSB: His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.
SDK Pokaza silu rukom svojom; razasu ponosite u mislima srca njihovih. BSB BSB: He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
SDK Zbaci silne s prestola, i podiže ponižene. BSB BSB: He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has exalted the humble.
SDK Gladne napuni blaga, i bogate otpusti prazne. BSB BSB: He has filled the hungry with good things, but has sent the rich away empty.
BSB BSB: He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful,
SDK Kao što govori ocima našim, Avraamu i semenu njegovom doveka. BSB BSB: as He promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his descendants forever.”
SDK Marija pak sedi s njom oko tri meseca, i vrati se kući svojoj. BSB BSB: Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.
SDK A Jelisaveti dođe vreme da rodi, i rodi sina. BSB BSB: When the time came for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth to a son.
BSB BSB: Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they rejoiced with her.
SDK I u osmi dan dođoše da obrežu dete, i hteše da mu nadenu ime oca njegovog, Zarija. BSB BSB: On the eighth day, when they came to circumcise the child, they were going to name him after his father Zechariah.
SDK I odgovarajući mati njegova reče: Ne, nego da bude Jovan. BSB BSB: But his mother replied, “No! He shall be called John.”
BSB BSB: They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who bears this name.”
SDK I namigivahu ocu njegovom kako bi on hteo da mu nadenu ime. BSB BSB: So they made signs to his father to find out what he wanted to name the child.
SDK I zaiskavši daščicu, napisa govoreći: Jovan mu je ime. I začudiše se svi. BSB BSB: Zechariah asked for a tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they were all amazed.
SDK I odmah mu se otvoriše usta i jezik njegov i govoraše hvaleći Boga. BSB BSB: Immediately Zechariah’s mouth was opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak, praising God.
BSB BSB: All their neighbors were filled with awe, and people throughout the hill country of Judea were talking about these events.
BSB BSB: And all who heard this wondered in their hearts and asked, “What then will this child become?” For the Lord’s hand was with him.
SDK I Zarija otac njegov napuni se Duha Svetog, i prorokova govoreći: BSB BSB: Then his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:
SDK Blagosloven Gospod Bog Jakovljev što pohodi i izbavi narod svoj, BSB BSB: “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has visited and redeemed His people.
SDK I podiže nam rog spasenja u domu Davida sluge svog, BSB BSB: He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,
SDK Kao što govori ustima svetih proroka svojih od veka BSB BSB: as He spoke through His holy prophets, those of ages past,
SDK Da će nas izbaviti od naših neprijatelja i iz ruku svih koji mrze na nas; BSB BSB: salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us,
SDK Učiniti milost ocima našim, i opomenuti se svetog zaveta svog, BSB BSB: to show mercy to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,
SDK Kletve kojom se kleo Avraamu ocu našem da će nam dati BSB BSB: the oath He swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
SDK Da se izbavimo iz ruku neprijatelja svojih, i da mu služimo bez straha, BSB BSB: deliverance from hostile hands, that we may serve Him without fear,
SDK I u svetosti i u pravdi pred Njim dok smo god živi. BSB BSB: in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our lives.
SDK I ti, dete, nazvaćeš se prorok Najvišega; jer ćeš ići napred pred licem Gospodnjim da Mu pripraviš put; BSB BSB: And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for Him,
SDK Da daš razum spasenja narodu njegovom za oproštenje greha njihovih, BSB BSB: to give to His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,
SDK Po dubokoj milosti Boga našeg, po kojoj nas je pohodio istok s visine; BSB BSB: because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high,
BSB BSB: to shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
BSB BSB: And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the wilderness until the time of his public appearance to Israel.
