1. 1NMMHili ndilo alilonionesha Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi katika maono: Alikuwa anaandaa makundi ya nzige baada ya kuvunwa fungu la mfalme na wakati ule tu mimea ya pili ilipokuwa ikichipua.BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
2. 2NMMWakati nzige walikuwa wamekula mimea yote ya nchi, nililia kwa sauti kuu, “Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi, samehe! Je, Yakobo atawezaje kuendelea kuishi? Yeye ni mdogo sana!”BSBBSB: And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please forgive! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
3. 3NMMKwa hiyo Mwenyezi Mungu akaghairi. Kisha Mwenyezi Mungu akasema, “Hili halitatokea.”BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
4. 4NMMHili ndilo Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi alilonionesha katika maono: Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi alikuwa akiita hukumu ya moto; nao ulikausha vilindi vikuu, ukateketeza nchi.BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
5. 5NMMNdipo nikalia, “Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi, nakusihi, zuia! Je, Yakobo atawezaje kuendelea kuishi? Yeye ni mdogo sana!”BSBBSB: Then I said, “Lord GOD, please stop! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
6. 6NMMKwa hiyo Mwenyezi Mungu akaghairi. Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi akasema, “Hili nalo halitatokea.”BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.
7. 7NMMHili ndilo alilonionesha katika maono: Bwana alikuwa amesimama karibu na ukuta ambao ulikuwa umejengwa kwa timazi, akiwa na uzi wa timazi mkononi mwake.BSBBSB: This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord was standing by a wall true to plumb, with a plumb line in His hand.
8. 8NMMNaye Mwenyezi Mungu akaniuliza, “Je, Amosi unaona nini?” Nikamjibu, “Uzi wa timazi.” Kisha Bwana akasema, “Tazama, ninaweka uzi wa timazi miongoni mwa watu wangu Israeli; sitawahurumia tena.BSBBSB: “Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:
9. 9NMM“Mahali pa Isaka pa juu pa kuabudia pataangamizwa, na mahali patakatifu pa Israeli pa kuabudia pataharibiwa; kwa upanga wangu nitainuka dhidi ya nyumba ya Yeroboamu.”BSBBSB: The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with My sword.”
10. 10NMMKisha Amazia kuhani wa Betheli akatuma ujumbe kwa Yeroboamu mfalme wa Israeli, akisema: “Amosi analeta fitina juu yako katikati ya Israeli. 12. 12NMMKisha Amazia akamwambia Amosi, “Nenda zako, ewe mwonaji! Urudi katika nchi ya Yuda. Ujipatie riziki yako huko na kutoa unabii wako.BSBBSB: And Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah; earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.
13. 13NMMUsiendelee kutoa unabii katika Betheli, kwa sababu hapa ni mahali pa mfalme pa kuabudia na Hekalu la ufalme huu.”BSBBSB: But never prophesy at Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
14. 14NMMAmosi akamjibu Amazia, “Mimi sikuwa nabii wala mwana wa nabii, lakini nilikuwa mchungaji wa kondoo na mtunza mikuyu.BSBBSB: “I was not a prophet,” Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman and a tender of sycamore-fig trees.
15. 15NMMLakini Mwenyezi Mungu akanitoa kutoka kuchunga kondoo na kuniambia, ‘Nenda, ukawatabirie watu wangu Israeli.’BSBBSB: But the LORD took me from following the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
16. 16NMMSasa basi, sikieni neno la Mwenyezi Mungu. Ninyi mnasema, “ ‘Usitabiri dhidi ya Israeli, na uache kuhubiri dhidi ya nyumba ya Isaka.’BSBBSB: Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
17. 17NMM“Kwa hiyo hili ndilo asemalo Mwenyezi Mungu: “ ‘Mke wako atakuwa kahaba mjini, nao wana wako wa kiume na wa kike watauawa kwa upanga. Shamba lako litapimwa na kugawanywa, na wewe mwenyewe utafia katika nchi ya kipagani. Nayo Israeli kwa hakika itaenda uhamishoni, mbali na nchi yao.’ ”BSBBSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
