1. 1NMMNdipo Mungu akawabariki Nuhu na wanawe, akiwaambia, “Zaeni, mkaongezeke kwa idadi, na mkaijaze tena dunia.BSBBSB: And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
2. 2NMMWanyama wote wa nchi, na ndege wote wa angani, na kila kiumbe kinachotambaa juu ya ardhi, na samaki wote wa baharini wamekabidhiwa mikononi mwenu, nao watawaogopa na kuwahofu.BSBBSB: The fear and dread of you will fall on every living creature on the earth, every bird of the air, every creature that crawls on the ground, and all the fish of the sea. They are delivered into your hand.
3. 3NMMKila kitu chenye uhai kiendacho kitakuwa chakula chenu. Kama vile nilivyowapa mimea mbalimbali, sasa nawapa kila kitu.BSBBSB: Everything that lives and moves will be food for you; just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you all things.
4. 4NMM“Lakini kamwe msile nyama ambayo bado ina damu, kwa maana damu ni uhai.BSBBSB: But you must not eat meat with its lifeblood still in it.
5. 5NMMHakika damu ya uhai wenu nitaidai. Nitaidai kutoka kwa kila mnyama. Kutoka kwa kila mwanadamu pia nitaidai kwa ajili ya uhai wa binadamu mwenzake.BSBBSB: And surely I will require the life of any man or beast by whose hand your lifeblood is shed. I will demand an accounting from anyone who takes the life of his fellow man:
6. 6NMM“Yeyote amwagaye damu ya mwanadamu, damu yake itamwagwa na mwanadamu; kwa kuwa katika mfano wa Mungu, Mungu alimuumba mwanadamu.BSBBSB: Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man his blood will be shed; for in His own image God has made mankind.
7. 7NMMBali ninyi, zaeni mwongezeke kwa idadi; zidini duniani na kuijaza.”BSBBSB: But as for you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out across the earth and multiply upon it.”
8. 8NMMNdipo Mungu akamwambia Nuhu na wanawe pamoja naye:BSBBSB: Then God said to Noah and his sons with him,
9. 9NMM“Sasa mimi ninaweka agano langu nanyi, pamoja na uzao wenu baada yenu,BSBBSB: “Behold, I now establish My covenant with you and your descendants after you,
10. 10NMMpia na kila kiumbe hai kilichokuwa pamoja nanyi: ndege, mifugo, na wanyama pori wote, wale wote waliotoka katika safina pamoja nanyi: kila kiumbe hai duniani.BSBBSB: and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth—every living thing that came out of the ark.
11. 11NMMNinaweka agano nanyi: Kamwe uhai hautafutwa tena kwa gharika; kamwe hakutakuwa tena gharika ya kuangamiza dunia.”BSBBSB: And I establish My covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12. 12NMMMungu akasema, “Hii ni ishara ya agano ninalofanya kati yangu na ninyi na kila kiumbe hai kilicho pamoja nanyi, agano kwa vizazi vyote vijavyo:BSBBSB: And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
13. 13NMMNimeweka upinde wangu wa mvua mawinguni, nao utakuwa ishara ya agano nifanyalo kati yangu na dunia.BSBBSB: I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
14. 14NMMWakati wowote ninapotanda mawingu juu ya dunia na upinde wa mvua ukatokea mawinguni,BSBBSB: Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
15. 15NMMnitakumbuka agano langu kati yangu na ninyi na viumbe vyote vilivyo hai vya kila aina. Kamwe maji hayatakuwa tena gharika ya kuangamiza uhai wote.BSBBSB: I will remember My covenant between Me and you and every living creature of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
16. 16NMMWakati wowote upinde wa mvua unapotokea mawinguni, nitauona na kukumbuka agano la milele kati ya Mungu na viumbe vyote vilivyo hai vya kila aina duniani.”BSBBSB: And whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind that is on the earth.”
17. 17NMMHivyo Mungu akamwambia Nuhu, “Hii ndiyo ishara ya agano ambalo nimelifanya kati yangu na viumbe vyote vilivyo hai duniani.”BSBBSB: So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Me and every creature on the earth.”
18. 18NMMWana wa Nuhu waliotoka ndani ya safina walikuwa: Shemu, na Hamu, na Yafethi. (Hamu ndiye alikuwa baba wa Kanaani.)BSBBSB: The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan.
19. 19NMMHao walikuwa wana watatu wa Nuhu, na kutokana nao watu walienea katika dunia.BSBBSB: These three were the sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was populated.
20. 20NMMNuhu akawa mkulima, akawa mtu wa kwanza kupanda mizabibu.BSBBSB: Now Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.
21. 21NMMAlipokunywa huo mvinyo wake, akalewa na akalala uchi kwenye hema lake.BSBBSB: But when he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and uncovered himself inside his tent.
22. 22NMMHamu, baba wa Kanaani, akauona uchi wa baba yake na kuwaeleza ndugu zake wawili waliokuwa nje.BSBBSB: And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside.
23. 23NMMLakini Shemu na Yafethi wakachukua nguo, wakaitanda mabegani mwao wote wawili, kisha wakaenda kinyumenyume, wakaufunika uchi wa baba yao. Nyuso zao zilielekea upande mwingine ili wasiuone uchi wa baba yao.BSBBSB: Then Shem and Japheth took a garment and placed it across their shoulders, and walking backward, they covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned away so that they did not see their father’s nakedness.
24. 24NMMNuhu alipolevuka na kujua lile mwanawe mdogo alilomtendea,BSBBSB: When Noah awoke from his drunkenness and learned what his youngest son had done to him,
25. 25NMMakasema, “Alaaniwe Kanaani! Atakuwa mtumwa wa chini kabisa kwa ndugu zake.”BSBBSB: he said, “Cursed be Canaan! A servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.”
26. 26NMMPia akasema, “Atukuzwe Mwenyezi Mungu, Mungu wa Shemu! Kanaani na awe mtumwa wa Shemu.BSBBSB: He also declared: “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the servant of Shem.
27. 27NMMMungu na apanue mipaka ya Yafethi; Yafethi na aishi katika mahema ya Shemu, na Kanaani na awe mtumwa wake.”BSBBSB: May God expand the territory of Japheth; may he dwell in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.”
28. 28NMMBaada ya gharika, Nuhu aliishi miaka mia tatu na hamsini.BSBBSB: After the flood, Noah lived 350 years.
29. 29NMMNuhu aliishi jumla ya miaka mia tisa na hamsini, ndipo akafa.BSBBSB: So Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
