1. 1NMMLakini Isa akaenda katika Mlima wa Mizeituni.BSBBSB: But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2. 2NMMAlfajiri na mapema Isa akaja tena Hekaluni; watu wote wakakusanyika, naye akaketi, akaanza kuwafundisha.BSBBSB: Early in the morning He went back into the temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them.
3. 3NMMWalimu wa Torati na Mafarisayo wakamleta mwanamke mmoja aliyefumaniwa akizini. Wakamsimamisha katikati ya umati wa watu wote.BSBBSB: The scribes and Pharisees, however, brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before them
4. 4NMMWakamwambia Isa, “Mwalimu, huyu mwanamke amekutwa akizini.BSBBSB: and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
5. 5NMMKatika sheria, Musa alituamuru kuwapiga kwa mawe wanawake wa namna hii, hadi wafe. Sasa wewe wasemaje?”BSBBSB: In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. So what do You say?”
6. 6NMMWalimuuliza swali hili kama mtego ili wapate sababu ya kumshtaki. Lakini Isa akainama akaanza kuandika ardhini kwa kidole chake.BSBBSB: They said this to test Him, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger.
7. 7NMMWalipoendelea kumuulizauliza akainuka, akawaambia, “Kama kuna mtu yeyote miongoni mwenu ambaye hana dhambi na awe wa kwanza kumtupia jiwe.”BSBBSB: When they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her.”

10. 10NMMIsa akainuka na kumwambia, “Mwanamke, wako wapi wale waliokuwa wanakuhukumu kuwa mwenye hatia?”BSBBSB: Then Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?”
11. 11NMMYule mwanamke akajibu, “Hakuna hata mmoja, Bwana.” Isa akamwambia, “Hata mimi sikuhukumu. Nenda zako. Kuanzia sasa usitende dhambi tena.”]BSBBSB: “No one, Lord,” she answered. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Now go and sin no more.”
12. 12NMMKisha Isa akasema nao tena, akawaambia, “Mimi ni nuru ya ulimwengu. Mtu yeyote akinifuata, hatatembea gizani kamwe, bali atakuwa na nuru ya uzima.”BSBBSB: Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13. 13NMMMafarisayo wakamwambia, “Ushuhuda wako haukubaliki, kwa kuwa unajishuhudia mwenyewe.”BSBBSB: So the Pharisees said to Him, “You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not valid.”
14. 14NMMIsa akawajibu, “Hata kama najishuhudia mwenyewe, ushuhuda wangu ni kweli, kwa sababu najua nilikotoka na ninakoenda. Lakini ninyi hamjui nilikotoka wala ninakoenda.BSBBSB: Jesus replied, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
15. 15NMMNinyi mnahukumu kwa kufuata vipimo vya kibinadamu; mimi simhukumu mtu yeyote.BSBBSB: You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.
16. 16NMMLakini hata nikihukumu, uamuzi wangu ni sahihi kwa sababu sitoi hukumu yangu peke yangu, bali niko pamoja na Baba, aliyenituma.BSBBSB: But even if I do judge, My judgment is true, because I am not alone; I am with the Father who sent Me.
17. 17NMMImeandikwa katika Torati yenu kwamba ushahidi wa watu wawili ni thabiti.BSBBSB: Even in your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid.
18. 18NMMMimi najishuhudia mwenyewe, naye Baba aliyenituma hunishuhudia.”BSBBSB: I am One who testifies about Myself, and the Father, who sent Me, also testifies about Me.”
19. 19NMMNdipo wakamuuliza, “Huyo Baba yako yuko wapi?” Isa akawajibu, “Ninyi hamnifahamu mimi ni nani, wala hammfahamu Baba yangu. Kama mngenifahamu mimi, mngemfahamu na Baba yangu.”BSBBSB: “Where is Your Father?” they asked Him. “You do not know Me or My Father,” Jesus answered. “If you knew Me, you would know My Father as well.”
20. 20NMMIsa alisema maneno haya alipokuwa akifundisha katika chumba cha hazina Hekaluni. Lakini hakuna mtu aliyemkamata kwa kuwa saa yake ilikuwa haijawadia.BSBBSB: He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts, near the treasury. Yet no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.
21. 21NMMIsa akawaambia tena, “Ninaenda zangu, nanyi mtanitafuta, lakini mtakufa katika dhambi zenu. Niendako mimi, ninyi hamwezi kuja.”BSBBSB: Again He said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for Me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”
22. 22NMMNdipo wale Wayahudi wakasema, “Je, atajiua? Je, hii ndiyo sababu amesema, ‘Niendako mimi ninyi hamwezi kuja’?”BSBBSB: So the Jews began to ask, “Will He kill Himself, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”

24. 24NMMNiliwaambia kuwa mtakufa katika dhambi zenu; kwa maana msipoamini kwamba ‘Mimi Ndiye,’ mtakufa katika dhambi zenu.”BSBBSB: That is why I told you that you would die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
25. 25NMMWakamuuliza, “Wewe ni nani?” Naye Isa akawajibu, “Mimi ndiye yule ambaye nimekuwa nikiwaambia tangu mwanzo.BSBBSB: “Who are You?” they asked. “Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.
26. 26NMMNina mambo mengi ya kusema kuwahusu ya kuwahukumu. Lakini yeye aliyenituma ni wa kuaminika, nami nanena na ulimwengu niliyoyasikia kutoka kwake.”BSBBSB: “I have much to say about you and much to judge. But the One who sent Me is truthful, and what I have heard from Him, I tell the world.”
27. 27NMMHawakuelewa kuwa alikuwa akiwaambia kuhusu Baba yake wa Mbinguni.BSBBSB: They did not understand that He was telling them about the Father.
28. 28NMMKisha Isa akawaambia, “Mtakapokwisha kumwinua Mwana wa Adamu juu, ndipo mtajua kuwa mimi ndiye yule niliyesema, na kwamba mimi sitendi jambo lolote peke yangu, bali ninasema yale tu Baba yangu amenifundisha.BSBBSB: So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own, but speak exactly what the Father has taught Me.
29. 29NMMYeye aliyenituma yu pamoja nami; hajaniacha, kwa kuwa siku zote nafanya mapenzi yake.”BSBBSB: He who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”
30. 30NMMWengi waliomsikia Isa akisema maneno haya wakamwamini.BSBBSB: As Jesus spoke these things, many believed in Him.
31. 31NMMKisha Isa akawaambia wale Wayahudi waliomwamini, “Mkidumu katika maneno yangu, mtakuwa wanafunzi wangu kweli kweli.BSBBSB: So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples.
32. 32NMMNdipo mtaijua kweli, nayo kweli itawaweka huru.”BSBBSB: Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33. 33NMMWao wakamjibu, “Sisi tu wazao wa Ibrahimu, nasi hatujakuwa watumwa wa mtu yeyote. Wawezaje kusema kwamba tutawekwa huru?”BSBBSB: “We are Abraham’s descendants,” they answered. “We have never been slaves to anyone. How can You say we will be set free?”

43. 43NMMKwa nini hamwelewi ninayowaambia? Ni kwa sababu hamwezi kusikia nisemacho.BSBBSB: Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message.

He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
45. 45NMMLakini kwa sababu nimewaambia kweli, hamkuniamini!BSBBSB: But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!
46. 46NMMJe, kuna yeyote miongoni mwenu awezaye kunithibitisha kuwa mwenye dhambi? Kama nawaambia yaliyo kweli, mbona hamniamini?BSBBSB: Which of you can prove Me guilty of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?
47. 47NMMYeye atokaye kwa Mungu husikia kile Mungu asemacho. Sababu ya ninyi kutosikia ni kwa kuwa hamtokani na Mungu.”BSBBSB: Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
48. 48NMMWayahudi wakamjibu Isa, “Je, hatuko sahihi tunaposema kwamba wewe ni Msamaria, na kwamba una pepo mchafu?”BSBBSB: The Jews answered Him, “Are we not right to say that You are a Samaritan and You have a demon?”
49. 49NMMIsa akawajibu, “Mimi sina pepo mchafu, bali ninamheshimu Baba yangu, nanyi mnanidharau.BSBBSB: “I do not have a demon,” Jesus replied, “but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
50. 50NMMLakini mimi sitafuti utukufu wangu mwenyewe, bali yuko anayetaka kunitukuza, naye ndiye mwamuzi.BSBBSB: I do not seek My own glory. There is One who seeks it, and He is the Judge.
51. 51NMMAmin, amin nawaambia, mtu yeyote akilitii neno langu, hataona mauti milele.”BSBBSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, if anyone keeps My word, he will never see death.”
52. 52NMMNdipo Wayahudi wakapaza sauti, wakamwambia, “Sasa tumejua kwamba una pepo mchafu! Ibrahimu alikufa, na manabii vilevile, nawe unasema kuwa mtu akitii neno lako hatakufa milele.BSBBSB: “Now we know that You have a demon!” declared the Jews. “Abraham died, and so did the prophets, yet You say that anyone who keeps Your word will never taste death.
53. 53NMMJe, wewe ni mkuu kuliko baba yetu Ibrahimu ambaye alikufa, na manabii ambao pia walikufa? Unafikiri wewe ni nani?”BSBBSB: Are You greater than our father Abraham? He died, as did the prophets. Who do You claim to be?”

55. 55NMMIngawa hamkumjua, mimi ninamjua. Kama ningesema simjui, ningekuwa mwongo kama ninyi, lakini mimi ninamjua na ninalitii neno lake.BSBBSB: You do not know Him, but I know Him. If I said I did not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know Him, and I keep His word.
56. 56NMMBaba yenu Ibrahimu alishangilia kwamba angeiona siku yangu, naye akaiona na akafurahi.”BSBBSB: Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see My day. He saw it and was glad.”

59. 59NMMNdipo wakaokota mawe ili kumpiga, lakini Isa akajificha, naye akatoka Hekaluni.BSBBSB: At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple area.
